Living Room Ceilings Designs

Recommended Posts

Hi

What are the various designs for the living room ceilings? My living room is measuring 4.6m x 4.15m. I m thinking of having a L-box design with downlights but there is the concern of insufficent lighting in the centre of the living room.

Honestly, if your downlights are along the sides of the ceiling, it's still not an issue if you have sufficient lights an they are can hold 18 watt bulb or 2x13 watt bulbs, or a single 26 watt bulb.

If not, then do a false ceiling, then your downlights don't have to 'hug' the sides of the ceiling. If you are still afraid not enough light, then just have a hanging light also, or get floor lamps.

There's no one right answer. Depends a lot on your design theme also, and of course your budget.

Hi melancholic

Thanks for yr reply. Should I be going for a L-Box design, probably running a trunking to the centre of the living room might be unattractive with the L-Box in place or maybe I havent seen this layout before.

One concern, does these 18 watt bulb or 2x13 watt bulbs, or a single 26 watt bulb feel warm while sitting under these downlights?

Hi

i think Tin Look Squares bring traditional style and elegant design this two styles would be better on your ceilings and it would look nice too.

have you considered a square shaped (empty in the centre) light box in the centre of the room?

my contractor suggested this for us, and i really like it. if you are interested to see a pic, send me your email add.

hope this helps some.
