This cannot be about price. It's about design.

Which do u prefer?

most of ID/carpenter offer ABS trimming as standard but only this ID offer me aluminum trimming.

I'm just curious whether he offered me because of the design or to save his own cost.

Which is more important? The Design or their profitability?

ABS and Aluminium trims are not interchangeable. Each have their own stengths and weaknesses.

It all depends on the design and cost structure of the contractor.

My point is, FOCUS on the DESIGN.

Good advice, and rightly so :D Both are good quality finishings, and what counts is the aesthetic.

Just for knowledge. ABS stands for Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, is a kind of "plastic", rather "fragile" if thickness more than 2mm, will "crack" easily and color tone will change if subject to prolong heat & UV light..Some "pcv" pipe is actually PP material, some flexibililty, those bigger pipe use ABS material.

For long run, Alu is better.

I doubt so. Seldom touch kitchen stuff, my MIL's territory, sorry lah can't really remember. Unit sold in Sept 09. TOP 2006. ABS material usage in capentry is quite recently (~ 2 years). My present sliding wardrobes also partial using ABS sheet, instead of "laminate". Personally, I prefer Alu. for the trimming, hard & solid, though the color a bit dull. Next, my kitchen top is solid black granite "glaxy... don't know what", 16ft, cost me almost $1,500.
