Ex- Tenant Didnt Change Address

Recommended Posts

Can i check with all, i had already moved into this resale flat for 1 year.

Still received the previous owner and tenants(previous owner rent it out) mails occassionally.

Is there any way i can do to stop the mailing. i am very pissed off and frustrated to see other ppl name under my mailbox.

i had tried returning the mail back and indicating the addressee has moved, but they still send over. call the company up( guess some hk investment etc) and they said they cant do much as i am not the person under the letter.

U could either continue to return those mailers to Singpost, indicating that those persons have already moved. Or, you might want to simply dump those letters into the bin.

Things should settle down after sometime.

I'm fine to receive letters intended for my ex-tenant and ex-owner, as long as it's not Ah Long visiting my house.

Risk of renting: Tenant can use their letters with our mailing address to change their pink/blue IC's address, and then borrow Ah Long with our address.

Why am I scared of Ah Long? My parents' next door neighbour flat has been haunted by Ah Long since 8 years ago till today despite of changing owners 3 times. The first owner's grandson borrowed from Ah Long multiple times. I pity the subsequent owners.

we just put the mails to the returned mail box or simply throw away... so long as not those O$P$ kind of stuff, it's okie....

perhaps will try some of the suggestions above.

1. i will check with the NPP one of this days, though i believe wont be much help.

2. also will check with the town council.

my only worry will be borrowing from loanshark or with debt collecting company who will not be easy to convice.

there should be a rule stating that" one should change their address within 3 months compulsory to safe guard us

Make a police report, is yr best case. Coz for debt collecting companies and even banks, u get their e-mail address, tell them u want to e-mail them the police report, and then cc SPF, MP and ICA, usually, they wun send anymore after tat. For loansharks, can't help u, but I think u can go to yr MP and complain and bang table, insist that the SPF shd arrest the person who nv change address to be put in jail? :P That is provided the SPF will do tat, by which u can remind them abt the National Registration Act whereby ppl who shift out muz change address within 28 days (which I think most ppl who are avoiding banks and loansharks will not do).

Not only did I make the report, I am also gg to write to all the relevant heads of SPF, my MP and the companies involved. It's only when u are the one being harrassed continuously by these nonsense then one will fully understand. :bangwall:
