hi all.... i just found something not right with regards to the toilet bowl piping system. i realise that normally for older estates the piping used to be U-shaped instead of the normal slanted pipings.

just go to ur toilet and stand in front of ur toilet bowl and look up. u shd be able to see ur neighbour upstair's toilet bowl waste piping. that's how i realise that the piping is piped slanted instead of the regular U-shape. I dono if this is the normal kind of piping for all older estates but it's at least true for my parent's hse in woodlands.

perhaps there's nothing wrong with the toilet bowls HDB gave but more of a piping problem.

Anyone who has a plumber fren or is a plumber himself inside this forum? pls do shed some light on this issue. if the piping is really the problem then i guess we might wanna alert hdb bout this.

i haven changed my toilet bowl as yet. but i do hv flushing problem as well. just that i will always flush twice to make sure whatever "ahem" is fully flushed out. i guess those that has changed their toilet bowl twice or more shd have a better stand to clear the air with hdb becoz no point keep changing toilet bowl when "perhaps" the problem probably lie with the piping itself.

Gate crash into the Tanglin Halt site. I work just opposite you guys and may even have bum into some of you :D

The place looks great and if I can lay my hand on one unit it will be so easy to go to work! But too bad cannot get one end up getting near my old place (Yishun), and just moved into Sembawang.

Just wanna say hi to everyone here. I eat at Koufu and shop at the Seng Siong too, hahaha....the POST cereal at Seng Siong is the cheapest in Singapore, and maybe JB and Batam too! :P

how about changing job to work at the Yishun/Sembawang area instead than you may also say that "it is so easy to go to work" ;)

for those already staying at tanglin halt, do you walk under the airwell or around it?

i understand at least one person has jumped down and looking at it, it seems this air well is a conveinient jump point for future jumpers.

not trying to stir any sheeit here as high chance i may be moving here so want to know the current residents feel abt it.

Yes, usually I will walk under the shelter. Not just to prevent being hit by a sucidal person, but also to avoid being a killer litter victim.

Given the height of our building and so many hidden corners, there is absolutely no way to prevent such cases. We just have to be more alert to strangers loitering and protect ourselves accordingly.

Hi all future neighbours (i hope :) )

Someone jumped from Tanglin Halt? When it occured? Can some one share?

think it happened couple months back at block 90. indian man ?? think he not from our estate.... came from somewhere and think our estate is too "clean" so jumped from here. :dancingqueen:

nothing much we can do to prevent such incidents from happening.

as regards to the toile bowl, i changed mine so far no issues. perhaps can conduct some survey with those that changed the toilet bowl see if there is any issues after changing the bowl. :yamseng:

The newspaper mentioned chinese leh? From the old tanglin neighbour estate. Stay out of shares. I reckon more ppl jump around the whole of singapore. For our estate, it sooner or later. Please let the incident past. :(
