experiences 3 year after renovation completed by 3D Innovation Design Pte. Ltd

I am going to share experiences during renovation and post renovation.
 

It is always nice to live in the nicely renovated house. Some companies will  upload the attractive videos  on social network pages. I, myself, hired 3D Innovation design Pte Ltd (after going through multiples quotations with different IDs companies) due to reasonable price. Renovated the following areas: kitchen flooring, bathrooms flooring and walls, carpentry works in Kitchen, living room and bedrooms, parquet flooring in living room and master bedroom and ceiling works. Of course, we has fallen in the free gifts. However, later, the story ended extremely different. We ended up paying more due to hidden cost (hidden in the total square feet counts for parquet flooring). The quotation sent to us is well organized as compared to other. The price is by squared feet. We did parquet flooring in living room and Master bedroom. By the way, post renovation service is up to 5 years. (But not clearly written which areas). My concern is mainly on water proofing in kitchen and bathrooms.

Midst of renovation, IDs told us Master room is not included in the quotation for parquet flooring, Boom! What? What do we do? The floor was already hacked off. What you will do in such scenarios? Of course, no other choice but to continue paying whatever amount was shortfall in the quotation. Oh! Finally, renovation completed and moved. We were very excited to move in.

Three years later, the major issue started. The neighbor below complaint me that there are couple of spot leaking water from their ceiling (both bathrooms). So, I called the IDs a few times, not to avail. Whatsapp him and called him a few day later. He said warranty for water proofing is only for one year. Then argue with him that in the form that post renovation warranty is 5 years. Of course it was not clearly stated which areas. Boom! no matter what I have to resolve the issue and ask his contractor to come over and have a look. You know what the reply is? “It will cost me 100 bucks just to come and view.” Water proofing system in any building should be long lasting. But now only 3 years (my neighbor below told me it has been slowly happening for quite sometimes.)

Then I need to look for other contractors, as the workmanship and quality of work provided by 3D innovations was atrocious for the wet areas (Kitchen and bathrooms). Who wants to replace the tiling in the both bathrooms after staying 3 years?  After complaining to 3D innovation, the ID contacted me for the contractor to visit to look at the ceilings of my neighbor in the bathrooms. **** no, I am not quite confident on the quality of work for wet area and do not repeat the same mistake that I unknowingly made in 2014.

 

Videos can be attractive but aware of wet areas, which is typically very costly and uncomfortably to redo (if you have small kids) after 3 years. New homeowners would probably be very excited at this point of renovation design stage; all that matter is post renovation services and quality of work for wet area.
