  1. 12yrs old aircon trunking.... hmm... I would wanna tear it down. Inside dunno got condensation or not. chem cleaning is not FOC, with that, add abit more $, u'll have a new set of trunking. So I won't risk doing chem cleaning.
  2. if expecting heavy cooking, then better to have tiles above the stove side of wall.
  3. I was about the start a similar thread on the same topic. My case was ELMARK (famous for ceiling fan) instant water heater model: UK88. Same case, they only work Mon-Fri. When I called them, this is the response I got: 1) If it's my wiring problem I had to pay them $50 to rectify the problem 2) If it's their equipment fault I still have to pay them $30 for the transportation cost. What in the world is this? During the conversation, they trying to disuade me to come quoting most of the time it would be "wiring problem". I was thinking WTF, if I can troubleshoot and buy the faulty component, it would cost at most probably only a few dollars. In the end I ask them to forget abt it. But I am now thinking to call them again.
  4. I know someone who escalated the matter to town council to get it fixed. meanwhile u can put a piece of big soft sponge/cloth on your compressor to aborb the sound.
  5. Last week there are alot! In the period of a week, I killed 4 mossy. That should be the mossy from water stagnant in vase during CNY period. Received a mass mail from RC recruitment. Anyone joining the RC?
  6. the grey colour wire comes in from the top is direct from outlet point, so there's no plug involve, therefore no fuse. Grey colour wire comes in, Live/Neutral/Earth, I tested the wire, it's still 'live'.
  7. Heavy traffic problem will naturally goes away de. At first pple thot coming in is shortcut. Then they realised it's all jammed inside, later with the raised zebra crossing, further slow down the traffic as compared to using the outer road along the MRT track. Cars will then start to avoid coming into this stretch le. If u complain some more, they'll probably erect a ERP gantry along the road.
  8. Congratulations. There will be a raised zebra crossing built in front of Blk 219B. Akang Datang. Q1.
  9. Hi all, Bought a new water heater, after install, it works fine for few mths. After that it just died. - tested, wire is still alive - power LED indication doesn't lid - water is cold = no heatinng Still under warranty, but Elmark wants to charge me $50 if it's my wiring fault. And also charge me $30 if it's their equipment fault. attached is a pic of my instant water heater internal part. Can advise me which part is most likely faulty and needs to change? If possible I would want to self service.
  10. 30k is a comfortable minimal cost u should be looking at, assuming homo tiles, solid surface. If u wanna do something more elaborate e.g vanity tops, granite tops, lots of mirrors etc then u should be looking at 38-40k range.
  11. http://www.crlaurence.com/ProductPages/L/L...gh.html?Origin= I reckon u still need to drill holes into the glass door in order to hold the latch. And that is not something u can achieve.
  12. Although look nice, I also don't really like our door and gate, especially the door. 1) it is very insecure as u can see through the slit where the lockset is. A simple crowbar or even screwdriver can easily pry open the door. Old style design u can't easily access the lockset coz it is set into the doorframe. 2) The 3-leaf gate design is really dumb in the sense the lock is at the side. It hindes the opening and closing of lock. To replace the maindoor with another fireproof rated door is not cheap... should be near $800 and above ba. Hong u can throw a house warming party, we all come and wang-wang the place up.
  13. if NTUC is the X-TRA solely selling non-edible stuff like plastic wares, trolley and the likes. Not the normal NTUC with the food and all. Simei have if u live in the east.
  14. On the topic of burglery, I suspect they have the master key. Last time I overhead my renovator talking to the sand Ah Neh taking sand into their unit. Renovator: Have u send the sand to unit XXXX Ah Neh: not yet, no one around or not open.. blah blah Renovator: aiyah, then use the master key lah Ah Neh: ..... I am seriously thinking of changing the gate's camlock. Is it possible to DIY the change? Anyone has any idea our gate is it using this type: - http://www.duro.com.sg/duro/art778C.asp - http://www.duro.com.sg/duro/art778G.asp
  15. oh yeah. my neighbour was complaining that his laminate got some trapped bubbles, then he asked the carpenter to come and redo . In the end, the carpenter pasted another layer of laminate over the existing one. no matter how small the defect, it'll deform the reflected image, making even the slightest imperfection very obvious. I was thinking TV console which is set against the wall shouldn't be that obvious, but my neigbour one is a TV console that he asked to redo.
  16. I prefer matt, dust is not visible. Glossy is like car surface, pple can easily tell u didn't do housework for long time.
  17. need to hack off a trench along the crack line then plaster it back.
  18. I had already emailed them on the zebra crossing. So based on People power, here's the direction: feedback@lta.gov.sg But just a note, they seldom build covered structures that span across roads.
  19. which gahment department should we write to if we want to propose to them to construct a zebra crossing between LG and Shop&Save?
  20. use another piece of scotch tape, repeatedly stick and peel, the residue will come off together with the tape.
