  7. hahah YES must hack off la. too old fashion liao. unless building a retro theme
  8. Ya I also envious of the service balcony sia. My mom LOVES that.
  9. Some IDs can be practical also. If you need to have something done to suit your lifestyle then you can convey your needs to the ID and a good one would help you merge your needs into your house without spoiling the design or theme. Those that tell you this cannot that cannot... are no good. But seriously if you don't have ANY idea what you want then an ID is better. Contractor cannot start from scratch and do design for you. but if you have an idea they can help you.
  10. DOUBLE? mmm ok ok... I will ask my contractor. *sob*
  11. Thinking of mixing metallic champagne colour with some gloss white and a darker surface... saw that combi in a magazine very nice. hahaha
  12. hehe no no the $10.50/psf tile is for the foyer/the hallway leading from the main door. Becos of this problem I posted earlier.
  13. IDs are suppose to come up with designs to suit a theme you want. Which means you just tell them the theme and the colour scheme you want and they do the designing. But these days, not many IDs are really IDs. They tend to copy and paste from previous projects they have done and stuff. Very few are REAL IDs. But if you have zero idea of what you want this is a good way to go. Contractors don't come up with fancy designs nor 3D stuff for you to view your flat. But if you have some ideas you can present it to them and they can still give you some ideas on how to improve your flat. So if you do some research and like to design your flat then you can get a contractor. Contractors are a little cheaper as they dun have all the additional frills and stuff. My contractor also design and drew (by hand) my kitchen and my shoe cabinet to let us see and approve. In terms of work, both of them can do the same work... cos at the end of the day, an ID has contractors working for him.
  14. .... looks like white full leather can bring quite a bit of problems.. but it's sooo nice... I use a leather cleaner on my white leather wallet but I think it's never really clean. haiz

  18. Welcome... well... at least rejoice in the fact that you can use the money you saved for renovation ba! $20k can pay for simple overhaul!
  19. GOOD NEWSSSS We're getting the 10.50/psf tile for the foyer without any topup!! YAY YAY YAY! and my contractor left all the laminate samples and paint samples at our house for us to slowly choose over the next few days!! The solid surface top colours... The gloss laminates.. The metallic laminates I like. hahahahahaha
  20. huh... so sad I cannot see. I HATE IE!
  21. wah but they lowered the top up cash so much... no choice ba Even with a signed agreement there is no where you can go with the document. Our lawyers advised us on this. Any private agreement you sign is not recognised by any govt body and the worst scenario is if HDB chooses to take action against people who do have private agreements. She says she's seen it before. Just be careful ba.
  22. Wah good for you! And good for us too hahah means we get to see more of your DIY stuff!!! COOLL!
  23. WOW yours is the perfect ceiling for a chandelier like that! Thanks for the collection of photographs for kitchens too! I'll see see that!
