  6. Fellow Forumers, Appreciate anyone out there care to share any tips for putting those butterflies (adaptors that look like butterflies for screws) on Partition walls. I kept having problems when i put these butterflies up on the partition wall... What happen is that after i poke a small hole on the partition wall & that i squeeze the butterflies thru these partition wall; i try to screw in the screw... after a while the screw kena jam & basically rotate & spoilt the partition wall... the butterflies no longer work & is loose... You cant screw in further & worse you cant really talke the butterfly out cos it will create a big hole... so i kena stuck... Someone told me Partition Wall comes in 9 & 12mm... so i am not sure if theres a size to these butterflies & i have gotten the wrong sizing one... Please Help... I have still lots of screws to put up on these walls.. I tht partition wall sh be the easiest since no heavy drilling is expected.... SIGH! Thanks in advance for any commnets & advice.
  7. Hi I just bought a 42" Pioneer Kuro Plasma. Made in Japan at $2499 with a set of home theatre, wall mount. From what i see and evaluate, its image seems softer and less "hard" compared to most LCD while its colour seems more smoother and resolution significantly sharper using HDMI cable with Blu ray player when i compare to panasonic and few other brabds. Hope i am not wrong. Any guys can verify? thanks
  8. Hi try Chan Huat at Balestier. Many showrooms and very prominent as you drice along the stretch. I bought my 4 sets of fan + light kit there.... price wise not sure as it a set of fan + light kit i have bought. Good luck...
  9. Hi i am staying at top floor in Bishan. Not really moved in yet but as i have selected an unit with the water tank jus above my unit. It didnt seems to be hot at mid day or even evening... Plus theres a constant breezes... so i assume its not too bad after all in my case. As for rain splashes... u got to study the direction and usual wind direction... In general, there usually 2 opposite in every 6 mths i suppose, if theres wind theres splashes... it then a matter how the splashes will come in.. for mine, the corridor etc was wide enuf so far not to affect my unit while i still enjoy e breezes even at a thunder storm the last few weeks. I suppose u need to Just visit the unit n study a few more time at different parts of the day tht... But i think most impt must not face west. Cos no matter wat, the noon-evening setting sun will bake your unit for sure. Center units seems a better bet thought... Jus my 2 cents worth for your reference. May not b 100% true but thats wat i learnt...

  13. Yes if Burgler picks 1 locks, all 3 locks open like an express way... Plus if someone clone 1 keys, he has access to all 3 locks... Better keep to 2 different keys.. safer .. a personal comment
  14. U are 1 creative guy. great job!!!
  15. Hi bebebe. u have a very nice lamp. better be careful rather than spoilt a gem in ur hand now... the issue to innovate a safe hanging device to hold ur lamp while cutting away its bottom stand.
  16. Is your agent serving you as the the buyer to this EM (as the new Owner) as well as the Seller of the EM? If yes theres conflict of interest and he may be takinbg side to the seller... as such, you may wan to be tougher... insist ur way on being reasonable on it... and since you are paying the agent, let him work it work and fight for you.... Dont get too soft and give way... after all you pay.. they recieve - Both of them...
  17. If the un-titled are not exposed, noone knows... plus no buyer examine that area la... Beside down that time, its a different story liao.. don get con by ur contractor... Its usually a preference of the owner... of course best to have but if budget. jus leave it n cabinet over it la... Also tiling over that area or not does not significantly change your selling price... its the overall.. don get con by people if anyone tell you so.... it does not work that way. Look at your budget n functionality.... if u particular. do all e way.. it will be better if budget constraint... can hide no problem ... I also hide.... kekkekeke
  18. I agree... Concrete Base a little "passe" liao if u r open n asethetic is more important, then without a base... If u are more concern... n want the base to last longer, concrete base is good but there again... have to sacrifice the look a bit lor...

Budget 2. Priority in Renovation works 3. Time frame and schedule for renovation 4. Concept n Theme of renovation including: colour scheme, general material to be used etc 5. Transitional arrangement for household - ie where will you live during reno period n other such arrangement. Hope the above helps.

  23. For painting, check if the painter allows 2 trips. If yes, The rough sequence are: 1. demolition works, 2. wet works, window (if any) 3. electrical cabling/ plumbing, Aircon trunking, 4. partition/ ceiling work. 5. Parquet/ laminate flooring --- 1st layer of painting (Main job or to complete ceiling paint) --- 6. First washing & clearing of debris, floor covering board/ plastic 7. Carpentary --- 2nd layer (as 2nd coat if theres 2 trips - Mainly is to touch up) 8. Window Grilles 9. Light installation Think the above is roughly correct....
  24. Good work and renovation... It would be nice to see more of your creations.... keep the pics coming please... thanks
