  1. Max size should be 8 ft X 4 ft. Had that in my old house dinning area. As the lift can't fit, the poor guys had to carry it up 12 floors.
  2. i don't mind the metal strips as they add some design and also my old house have them as well and it was nice and neatly done (Was looking through my photo, can't find a close-up of my old TV console to show here). There is no miscommunication as I agreed for it to be installed and was expecting the same standard. It is their skill in cutting the area to put the strips, can't cut straight so there are some gaps exposed.
  3. He kept quiet. Even when we point out the crack in the display and the crooked wardrobe, he just shook his head... The display is a second piece already as the first piece had 4 cracks and that one we insisted that they change, for the wardrobe, this is also the second time they fix this as the first piece the measurements are incorrect and we also insist that they change as if not I can't open the wardrobe doors fully as it was too big. They took back to change the size, came back and fix a crooked one instead. By the time I check, they have already fix up a box-up beside it and the plank on top beside the box-up already.
  4. After sales service - after more than 1 month of shifting in. I am still waiting for 1 outstanding small piece of carpentry that he say will be finished last week.
  5. TV console - again there are metal strip running across the TV console I tried to position the TV such that it hides most of them as the expose wood is on the full length of the TV console. These are the ones that I can't cover. The finishing on the side is quite poor as you can see.
  6. Still on the display - right side bottom Display - left side bottom. Just in case you are wondering, the joint lines are black, I have gotten myself some white marker to dot them away. can't cover all as the joint are too wide and the finishing is not straight, so I have a difficult time trying to cover it. Please note that all this is at eye level and still this is the main display, really an eyesore and eye opener. Just like any other home owner, I was hoping that I can display my things at the nice display cabinet. If anyone can think of a way to hide them or made them less obvious, let me know.
  7. Altar - gaps in the metal strips and crack in the laminate (highlighted in the smaller red box) Crack on my display - look at the rectification work (put a lump of plaster there?) Joint lines on display
  8. It is time for me do a review of my renov process At first after reading all the good reviews here and no negative review (unless I miss them), decide to used Tau for my renov. BIG mistake. Please note that I am giving reviews on 8 pieces of carpentary work, 3 huge mirror, painting and baywindow granite (no wetwork or kitchen cabinets). Defects / sub-standard work which I have to accept as the HO was delay. I have 2 young kids and 1 elderly and can't afford to let them do major rectification like re-doing the carpentry stuff after HO. The HO was to be 27 Oct (1 month from start of Renov) but the actual HO was delay to 13 Nov and this is before rectification of defects. I did not use them for false ceiling or electrical, as I sub them out to my old contact. 1) Altar table - have 6 rows of metal strip running across it, poor workmanship as can see the gaps/wood below it (accept this as this is the only piece with the least defects). I have bought some brown marker to paint it. 2) Display cabinet, laminate cracked, change to plain laminate, still crack, I tried to bend the laminate and it is soft and flexible and no reason to crack and so it must be workmanship problem. Have to accept it as I am moving. 3) TV Console - workmanship is bad, we have 3 metal strips running across it, again wood behind the metal strips can be seen as they can't seems to cut the line for the gap to place the strips straight. The laminate is in white and wood is quite obvious. Tried to cover some of it with my TV, the rest will see if I can use the plaster and white paint to paint it. 4) MBR wardrobe - as mentioned before alignment is out and now we realised it is not only the behind length is longer than the front, the right side is also shorter than than the left. This wardrobe was re-done already as the first one was wrong size. Can't believe they still can't get it right the second time. Very upset with this wardrobe. Someone mentioned that it could be my wall and when I checked back, I had picture of this wall and floor as I needed the developer to rectify the flooring and glass door and confirm that the floor is NOT crooked, so this is POOR WORKMANSHIP. to be continued........
  9. Since there is no review by clients after their renovation with Tau recently. I feel it is time for me to provide a review on their recent workmanship. Please bear with me as my review on their poor workmanship, poor time management and poor space planning is very lengthy. Also I feel that pictures speak louder than words, so will be uploading some pictures so reader can judge for themselves. stay tune......while I get my camera in action......
  10. Care Are you getting too defensive. I thought forum is for sharing for both good and bad comments and not only good comments. If people are prevented from sharing bad comments, then it will make this forum/thread a scam and it is misleading others. Having a long list of clients who sign up does not mean anything as I am sure other ID can list out an even longer list, we should be listing only satisfied clients instead of merely clients who sign-up. Or better still will be indicating satisfied or unsatisfied clients beside the list so that potential home owner get a better picture.
  11. Hi Mummy Lynn you didn't miss out on anything....In fact you should count your blessing....lucky you.
  12. I custom made my sofa from Sanctuary Dian 3 years ago and is still using it, good quality but could be consider expensive to some. Will definitely go back to them if I need to custom made sofa in future but I think my sofa can survive for another 2-3 years.
  13. Hi Odes and Melvin PM already happy renovating
  14. Basically, I don't want to see his face anymore and have paid everything. Ya, Angela very helpful, when she realised that I was having issues with my ID, she also wanted to help but at that time was too late already. I have never try her carpentry source, let me know whether it is good or not as I am now thinking of hacking off the MBR bed and redo everything, tried to call some contactor but all rejected me saying they are fully booked till CNY. I think it is a nicer way to reject me and tell me the job is too small la... anyway using it for 2 years old maybe leave it... leave me know about Angela's carpentry ok.
  15. Hi Wenny remember me (false ceiling one), I have completed my renov last week and also have horrible experience. Every single piece of carpentry also must change and re-do and in the end have to accept some as I need to HO my existing place to my new buyer and I am left with no choice. Very stressful 7 weeks for me as I thought I have given sufficient time for them... haiz, all contactor the same kind, give measurements and drawing also end up with different things. so scare that don't want to ask for re-do as re-do might end up worst than before. There are so many defects that I have to accept that just before I shift in last week, I thought of selling the place. Even after I shifted in, the design are so bad and workmanship terrible that I had and is still having blue-black all over my legs and even cuts on my legs. Later going to buy sandpaper to see if I can file them without spoiling the laminate. If not will hack it off and rebuild or just buy off the shelve. Very exhausted over the whole renovation process except for my false ceiling, electrician and curtain guys who are fantastic.
  16. Hi all I have completed my renovation already and will not be login so often, if you need a fast response, please PM me. cheers
  17. Hi I never used Mr Vanish, but did polishing before, discolour, scatches, gaps all can be cured, but also depend on how thick is your wood as it was determine how deep they can polish to remove the scratches. I had a deep one cause by shifting a canon photocopier, and it came off. The 2 bedroom that I polished is about 100 sq ft each and cost me $250 in total. I did that 3 years ago so don't have the contact anymore.
  18. Wished I came to this thread. I used Advance transport and Service for my move last Friday, their manager came to my place to assess and told me 1 15ft truck will do whereas the other 2 movers told me we will need 18ft trucks. I thought this manager was quite professional so although they were slightly more ex, we decided to use them. They told us they will give me a 15ft truck and since I am moving from a condo to another condo and management don't let the truck into the carpark (too high anyway), they told me they will provide a van to ferry the small items to the big truck. Quote me $600 with 2 diversion. We also called them to check if all the things can't fit, they have to do 2 trips without additional charges as they are professional to assess not me. Came that day, the movers saw my things and told me took much can't fit and $600 impossible while they are shifting my boxes. We told them to put the boxes down, call their manager and also don't give in to them. Basically, we told them we are not in a hurry so if the price is not right and they want to increase, than we will not use them, they can leave. The workers called the manager and they discussed and discussed and in the end agreed. The 15ft truck can't really fit all the things, so we were there to supervise what to move and what not to move. End up I have to make 4 trips myself and 1 more trip this weekend...to ferry smaller stuff as we need to ensure all the big things that we can't move ourselves get moved. I called them since Wednesday to collect the boxes and till today they have yet to collect them, maybe they don't want to give me back my $80 deposits.
  19. Can check, is it that I have to get the whole piece liek 4 ft X 8 ft then ask them to cut to size or I can get them to cut my requirement of 1.5 ft X 6 ft? How much is 4 ft X 8 ft? Thanks in advance
  20. At least you top floor, no need to ask upside to hack, also no problem with sewage thingy so basically is raining. My Blk 127 ceiling also like, touch only, the whole thing fall.
  21. Hi Zhiz Thanks for the PM. The walls in Tampines is really terrible, I used to stay at blk 867A and later blk 127 and both have the same problem, I plaster the whole house but after 2-3 years, the problem arise, complain to both HDB and town council and both play tai zi. Even approach MP also no use. Both HDB and Town council came my house checked and checked also can solve. First it might be upside water proofing no good, so they hack and I have to bear half the cost, still problem came back, then they think is the brick no good. inside the house side is handled by HDB and outside the house one is handled by town council...we are talking about the same piece of brick just different side...faint..in the end, they inject some chemical into the wall to harden the water (no sure what is that). after 1-2 months still came back, so my walls end up with many patches. They are hollow kind and if you hit on them, they fall off and the patch gets bigger and bigger, if you touch, they are ****. then they said could be sewage problem from all the floors upside...I nearly died....
