  2. Will tell him your complements. The laminates we chose are not the same as the 3D. Hope they turn out well...
  3. Saw your reply too late But what you said is what the electrician uncle said Thanks!
  4. Can print onto transparencies and project on wall.
  5. Hi, I noticed that most forumers chose round lights and so don't need to think about the orientation. I chose rectangular ceiling lights for my rooms. I am not sure how the long side should run. Any suggestions or comments?
  6. Confirmed TV today at Best Denki Great World City. PANASONIC 42" Plasma Full HD TV (VIERA TH-42PY800H) $1599 Went to Best Denki Great World City yesterday to look around with main intention to buy this TV. Got attracted by new SAMSUNG LED TVs. But the price was around $3799 to $3999 for Series 6 and Series 7 40" Decided to think about it.... Eventually decided not to as the prices are still steep for LED TVs. Went to Best Denki Bishan and saw price tag of the target PANASONIC model is at $3299. No discount. Went to Mega Discount (United Square) and was given best price of $1899. Wanted to bargain but got suaned by the sales person that I should know the retail price of $2499. Not interested to talk with him anymore. Went to get from Best Denki Great World City. Promotional price of $1599 ($2399 with $800 instant discount). Free wall bracket with mounting by agent.
  7. Went past the construction site today. Saw many workers busy with the water feature(?) or pool (?) in front.
  8. Work done on 08 May 2009: Painting of all ceiling (all white) to prepare for light installation on Monday Painted false ceiling @ dining (cove light+PLC) and living (PLC) area
  9. Chengai is quite light in color. You will paint wood stain (choice of color) on it. My contractor gave me a few sample pictures to see and choose: Sample1 Sample2 Sample3 Sample4 You can specify if you want long horizontal style (picture 4) or short vertical style (picture 1,2,3).
  10. Work done for 06 May 2009: Deck **** room
  11. My view only: If there are leaks, they will surface after the installation. Try to test run your air-con as soon as possible. If not, I don't think leaks will surface in the trunking down the years. I hope this is true.
  12. For the air-con in the picture, I think the trunking is behind the wall in the kitchen. The kitchen has false ceiling. For those air-con in my rooms, the trunking is hidden in false ceiling.
  13. Clearer view of false ceiling allowance for air-con servicing
  14. Work done on 05 May 2009 (mainly false ceiling and plaster boards) False ceiling for PLC lighting @ MBR bay window Allowance given for curtains Plaster board for dresser @ MBR up False ceiling @ living room with allowance given for future air-con servicing False ceiling for cove light @ dining area Tips: Must wait for the plaster to dry 1st before painting. Otherwise the moisture will be trapped and cause problems in the future.
  15. The existing switches are mounted like that. New switches just followed the direction.
  16. Yes, clipsal switches. They come default with my apartment. So my contractor supplied the same for additional points. Additional points are package price consists the new part and installation charge (inclusive of concealing).
  17. Only the tv console side is fake wall (i.e. plaster partition wall) which is easily hacked. The rest are real concrete walls which they use power tools to cut a groove, put wires and then plaster up to conceal. I think the more difficult part will be to cut groove in the ceiling...
  18. Work done for 04 May 2009: Mainly electrical Lighting points for cove lights and PLCs at dining and living Lighting points for display cabinets New 3 gang (for living) and 2 gang (for dining and display cabinet) switches besides the existing 2 gang switch (for kitchen) Existing power points and SVC point shifted to new position New LAN points in study room + Shifting of existing power socket and telephone point
  19. I got this from Mondi. Promotional package price of $999 with 4 chairs (black, red or white).
  20. The light shop that I patronized also warned me of such practise. Normally, there is a charge for providing a lighting point (~$30-$40?) and also a charge for installing lightings (~$7-$10 per pc?). Contractor who think you don't know will quote you (price of supplying a lighting point) x (no. of T5). In fact, if you want to save $, ask them install a lighting point and then you connect T5 yourself.
  21. Me mountain-tortise. 1st time saw that kind of corner drawer. Very nice.
  22. Thought can look at the condition of the old kitchen

  24. I think Teddy Seah meant his own EM is at Bukit Batok and require a major renovation. Looking for inputs from fellow EM owners.
  25. My passageway to bedrooms is around 4.2m long and 1m width. I put 3 set of 1x10w (warm white) along the way. Enough or not (i.e. how bright you want it to be) is personal's preference. My mbr entrance is even shorter. Only 1.2m long and 1m width.
