  1. No offence intended, just giving a very personal opinions as I used both types of washers, asian top loads n continentals, due to renting places here n there.I'm sure manny ppl have different preferences, whether 2-in-1 or top loaders or seperate washers, dryers.Hence so many variety in the market. My partner prefers thomson top-loader as it is small, but i hate the vibrations.I'm sure there r benefits in hitachi, or generally jap front loaders that consumers might like,so gd luck if u like them! My opinions are based on personal use, materials inspection, general build n quality issues. The way a 2-in-1 r built,if u ve seen the motors of the dryer,n washer, so closely together in the machine, the mostly plastic parts, the suspensions,my observation(personally opinionated) is they r not a gd basis for a solid front load machines that cant handle gentle washing.Maybe the later batches will be better,i supposed.I just can't see the panasonics/hitachis, outperforming the siemens/electroluxes or the premium Mieles in the front load market! Not now at least.I still wish to add,I'm not an expert, nor knows how a machine is built, just offering a personal opinion.Inany case, hope whatever washer u buy will turn out to be a gd buy,n mayb next time when i change my washer,I will have extra opinions from users here who have used different types.
  2. The mode4l is a OEM from an italian company as osim dun make its own vac.It is gd for a 3-in 1.steam,vacuums ,mops. But since its water-based it has to be big.But I dun think u will use it for long, becos maintenance its a chore,n ya,its huge n heavy.I have feedbacks it is a machine that will stay in the storeroom more than u will use it,based on the difficulty in maintenance.By the way, nobody uses it outside of asia.!
  3. Like I said,I'm n ot a big fan of either korean or jap washing machine. The reason y sharp wash faster is because generally jap top loader uses alot of water n detergent n they washes harshly,so faster. electrolux or eoropean front loader takes longer is because they use less water n detergent.wash more on mechanical action, thus gentler on clothes. It depends,if u got expensive or dekicates clothes, den jap or korean top loaders is a big no!Or in any case, the hitachi 2-in 1,even if jap made is still not gd.just based on the reason its a 2-in 1!use far more energy n a long drying time. btw jap never unto front load market!its the continental brands that have been there 100yrs.n hitachi,is never reputed for laundry washing at all. From the reviews,I guess this model must cost more than $1.5k?i deduce that s its jap made. But pl do take note, panasonic use ti have a similar 2-in 1 made in jap too. They discontinued that model after less than 1 yr in the market. The reason is as gd as anybody guess.Dun be intrigued by the idea of having 2 functions in a machine.U r going to regret sooner than u expected.Serious,..
  4. That is a bagless model, black in colour. If I'm not wrong.Another plus is that it comes with 2 yr warranty. But I think u r not someone who has allergy problems, thats y u have not change the hepa filter. The hepa lining is fine, meant to trapped fine dust.If u dun change the air will be harmful for allegic or asthmatic persons. Moreover Philips hepa filter is not really a certified type, although the rating is hepa 13.If its great for u,congrats! But I would not recommend it to people with allergies..
  5. Oh i think its a great deal for the price, since the washer is at least 1000rpm.should b made in thailand. But I think its a better built than brandt.Better reputation too.Congrats.
  6. Depend on ur budget allocation for both washer and dryer. If seperate dryer,u going for vented type or condenser.vented is when the hot air r vented out directly.plus points r cheaper and slightly faster.ideal when u place ur dryer outdoors.Minus points r clothes not as soft as condenser drying.if placed indoors the walls will b hot n room stuffy due to the hot air coming out.Condenser dryer r more ideal for indoor.Clothes r more soft due to more even airfow, hot air r condensed to water with the condensing unit below doing the job.minus points r most condenser dryers r at least $1k upwards whereas vented dryer few hundreds can buy already. Foe washers, what made u looking for?China made or thai made r much cheaper.europe made more ex.The rpm(revolutions per min)?the faster the better so u save time and enery n cost on drying.Do take note:ITS NOT JUST THE BRAND,it depends on the models u purchased within the brand. For eg;Bosch has few europe made models that r not bad but it starts from $1.5k for the not bad made. But the lowe end of bosch,if u manage to see the parts, cannot make it.as they r made in thailand n flimsy parts.ELECTROLUX,THEY R NOT THE ELECTROLUX OF YESTERYEAR.They used to b made in Italy. Now all models r made in Thailand, due to theyacquired alot of companies in europe n now they r mass selling to gain market share, hence quality detiorates.ARISTON;Plus points r they r made in italy. But nobody buys them in europe due to poor workmanship. All in,if u r not going to spend more than $3k for a pair of washer n dryer,I suggest u go for a reliable washer and a vented dryer.Cos in sunny sg,u dun use dryer often.N if ur washer choice has at least 1000rpm n above,it takes shorter time to dry.U dun have to buy the same brand for both as different brands can b stacked together. For eg; I just brought a friend to buy a miele w562 washer($1788) plus a bosch vented dryer($699). The total cost is only $2.4k with some discounts. U also can try pair german made bosch washer around$1.5k and vented bosch dryer $699.Or the better made electrolux$1.5k(but made in thai) with bosch dryer.I chose bosch dryer cos they r effectively valuefor $$ for the price. Not superbly made but can do. But I feel that the MIELEW562 washer is superb value $ for the washer as it is just $200 more than the top bosch n the quality is way ahead. Ultimately it depends on ur needs too.I just hate handwashing my exp work clothings n woolen pants.I rather the gentle miele do the dreaded handwashing, albeit with a machine.Hope this helps..
  7. U can buy it at most electrical stores.try harvey norman or best denki.
  8. great for u!if u have friends want to buy my 2nd hand dyson, can pm me?still under warranty, bought in august this yr,less than 5 times..gd condition.
  9. Ef not so well made.Forget it.For the same price, I will prefer rinnai. But La germania is very gd and not so ex too!
  10. Truth is rainbow lasts as they use expensive parts. But I'm wondering how can u stand the sound and weight? For the price,u all should give miele a try.Only $700 for the top end model and performs much better than the dyson. All made in Germany! Everyone in europe and usa swears by miele! Check out this website for the corrct vac to buy!www.killdirt.com
  11. Try Bosch.U can get a reliable 1 around $600/= It will not be fantastic,as really gd ones cost more than $1k. Or gas dryers from citygas, they save energy.
  12. Actually I replied in another thread already. But to add in my recent comments,pl do understand the steam functions will add in,NOT help u to save energy. And theoreotically,2-in-1 can never save energy due to the time taken. And I always find korean brands like to come up with new things and market it as some sort of miracle technology. And after a few yrs, and a new technology will appear.I'm not being offensive by snubbing them, but history has shown that established brands like Miele, siemens, or even aeg have built incredible washers that lasts. Why do I say its not value for money? The cheapest steam washers are around $1900,last I checked. If u can use them for more than 5 yrs,its still excusable. But from what I see,I doubt so.U can get a better quality miele washer for $1700.I'm not just favouring miele,THEY ARE REALLY THE BEST IF u just ask around any users who have them as companions for 20yrs. Hope my comments helps. In any case,I'm not a salesman.
  13. If there is a choice,go for a seperate washer and dryer.2-in-1 are better left alone unless no choice.Firstly,u are doing 2 things with 1 drum.2ndly,the washer and dryer motor are cramped in such a small pace, plus all the digital components all together.Even if u seldom use the dryer,it will give rise in complications later. And coupled with the long washing plus drying times taken for 2-in-1.(due to u need to dry 2 times for full load as 2-in-1 cannot dry full load due to not enogh space for drying)No no .. In any case, dun b intrigued by those korean/jap brand silver nano technology. All hype and not scientifically proven. The lg direct drive is quite quiet though, but not enough reason to trust its other features and parts reliability. They give 10yr warranty for the motor(yes, only the motor) so that is quite funny as washers usually spoil due to suspensions and other parts. If u going for traditional asian top loaders they will do just fine, but if u going for front loaders,go for continental machines. The BEST OF THE BEST is MIELE!U will never regret a miele, german pure bred that last u 20yrs at least. They have a promotion now for a honeycomb washer and dryer($3888).U can check it out at most dept stores. Its a steal s I understand they used to sell a washer at least for $3k above.I knew it because my mum owns 1!
  14. Anybody know where is the cheapest place to get a pioneer plasma tv?,with full warranty? thks
  15. Those salesmen again.. The only mode where a miele will wash more than 1 hour is the cottons load full.It will cut short the originsl 1hr45min wash time during the cycle as it senses the aappropriate time it takes to wash.I always washes less than 75min even when I use the cottons cycle, maybe my cottons are not too heavy. The brandt opti 45min wash is a half load wash,of course it takes 45min. But you are right in a sense that nowadays most front load washer take longer time to wash as they are conforming to european environmental concerns in saving water and electricity. So as less water is used to rinse your clothes, more time is needed. In any case, the 2 hrs mentioned is rubbish. Download the manual online and you will know.
  16. I used a bosch dishwasher, its great! saves the most water only 10l.However if you are talking about washing machine, forget bosch,go for miele. They only used 1.02kw and 47litres of water. They are the best!As for the sharp washer cum dryer,if I'm not wrong the model u quote is made in japan, so it should not be too bad.But for a 2-in1 machine the lifespan is relatively short, and the washing and drying time is long. For around $2k,pls hesitate... Or if 2-in1 is ur choice go for Lg made in korea. In any case I will never go for a 2-in 1.
  17. of course a miele is always forever better!(as their logo suggests) ewf 1090 electrolux is made in thailand,1000rpm.Although the drum load suggests 8kg,its size per capacity only suggests a 60l drim capacity.Whereas any miele machines in the market has at least a 56l drum capacity. And the miele model u mentioned is a 6kg washing machine. My mum stays in ardmore park, and she has the miele oven and washing machine built in since 10yrs back. The washing machine is only 5kg washing capacity and without the honeycomb drum. She washes 2 times a day,and now its still going strong!I've already decided to replace the miele w562 for her,as I'm afraid there will not be any promotion model that costs less than $2000 when that old german finally decides to retire! Yeah if there is anything that you think u will always get back what it's worth paying for,its definitely a miele! Go for the plunge now! And I would like to add, don't be conned by stupid singaporean sales man who says the honeycomb drum washing machine is a higher end machine,as compared to traditional drum of miele washing machines.(low end) as quoted by departmental stores salesmen. The honeycomb only came ino existence like a few years back and prior to that, the miele has always been known as the best and most durable(20yrs expectancy) washing machine make anywhere. So save the money on the honeycomb model(unless its the same price) and get the w562 instaed!
