Your tiling looks great! Progressing good.. Uncle really likes you manz.. I also want to meet Jason.. I want my laminate book... haha...
  2. Uncle really needs talent like him.. He can help Uncle with English quotation and drawings..
  3. It costs $800 with 4 chairs from S&C at AMK... Blk 338 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 Street 32 #01-1647..
  4. Finally some progress at last.. I'm waiting for the tiling to start!
  5. Sad to say the tilers and tiles was not at sight when we were back home.. sob.. They didn't come though Uncle Soon said they should be there in the afternoon...haiz.. Need to chase after uncle Soon again... Our living is so packed with a lot of sand.. Where is my tiles? Still waiting for Uncle's workers to move these out of the house... Some toilet fittings that we will keep The final tiles that we will use for our toilets: A side note to Smartie's creation! This is a 3D drawn to indicate to the tiler on how we want our tiles to be.. Too bad that the tilers didn't get to see it.. Not a very justifable picture here, but both Uncle Soon and myself are very impressed.. Good job!
  6. We went to Estelio to choose our toilet bowl again and chose a very pretty one.. Of course it comes with a price... Then we went to Ikea to walk walk.. Though I was really tired from yest's jigsaw playing.. But once I reached Ikea, I am as strong as a bull.. How great Ikea's power is.. We spotted a potential study table and a chest drawer.. We shall KIV them.. But we still bought one trolley of stuff.. Misc things like plastic cups, cutlery, rubbish bin, jar and chair... One trolley only! After our Ikea visit, we went back home to check on the aircon guys who had reached since 10+ in the morning... Finally the installation completed.. Installation looks pretty neat and good so far...
  7. Some photos of our naked toilets... Our cardboard standing as firm as a castle yest... OMG.. Our jigsaw struggle with the limited cardboard and masking tape.. So ugly... The better looking protection that we had done because the entire room was previously not covered at all...
  8. Hee.. I'm posting photos.. Sleeping soon.. *yawn*
  9. Pinkpetter: The guys are so funny one ah.. Why must stand on one piece? haha... Smallboy: Today was lugging myself to work... Really tried after our DIY flooring day... Super tiring.. It's really worth it after we see the cardboard's after-effect of the aircon installation... Familyof4: Smartie offered to u-turn just to prove that he was not hallucinating.. But I rather believe that he was hallucinating than doing a u-turn to delay our journey home.. haha..
  10. The effect of your DIY cabinet is great! Good job there...
  11. Looks like Yeak is really very patient and good! All these reno stuff also made Smartie and me very frustrated with each other at times.. haha... I wonder when can i start to choose my laminates... haiz.. I love your windows... Really special..
  12. Updates of our reno Finally, after 2 days of hacking, now our toilets look like a post war structure.. haha.. Very naked.. if nothing goes wrong, the tiling will start tomorrow becos uncle had already placed the tiles from LSH... The Gain City aircon guys will also come tomorrow to install our Mitsubishi Sys 4... Smartie will be taking full day leave to ja gar.. While I need to work half day to clear my work before joining him after lunch.. haiz... Anyway, bad news today is that we realised that the size of our toilet bowls are soooo small.. All becos of stupid column again.. Why must Bishan flats have so many columns and beams.. .. So we need to pop by Eestilo tomorrow to re-look at the toilet bowls that we previously ordered because one of them is 1/2 inch bigger.. Perhaps to change to another one that fits better.. Another FINALLY, after close to 10 times of reminders I think, we got our precious floor protection paper.. And 3 reminders were made to both Uncle Soon and Elder Bro today itself... Smartie purposely went back during lunch but no paper in sight.. After work, we drove back straight home to find 1 big roll of paper there... haiz... This meant that they were not placed nicely on the floor.. .. So we gave up at the sight of this and decided to proceed back to our individual homes for dinner first... After dinner at our existing homes, we went back to our new home at 9pm... Then we started to place the floor protection paper ourselves because we cannot afford to wait anymore and the aircon guys tomorrow will bound to make a mess of our home.. So we patiently cut and paste... As the floor protection paper is still pretty limited, we played jigsaw puzzle games to try to match up with the existing protection.. This really took up bulk of our time.. Before we realised, it was already 11.30pm.. We spent close to 2 1/2 hours to put up... OMG.. Now the flooring is SOooo protected... But quite ugly compared to ocheeeng's one... .. Not enough paper to cover the entire living room though, so let alone the door frames... While our way home, Smartie claimed that he saw cardboard on the road.. Honestly, I didn't see it... So perhaps he was hallucinating.. .. Anyway, today is a very eventful day... More photos tomorrow if Smartie can manage to find time to d/l them...
  13. Can understand that the workers are rough..So trying to ensure that everything is covered.. more details in the next post! hmmm.. I will definitely make sure that the floor protection is only removed after painting is completed.. Impt point here.. Thanks ya...

Your grey feature wall is pretty.. I'm also thinking of doing rough brown wall at the shower area.. But the maintenance makes me change my direction..
  15. Your progress is super good manz... Finally, hacking has started for the toilets.. Think it's 2/3 completed.. Tomorrow can clear up the debris liao... Now just worried about our flooring when they clear the debris.. Hopefully, the corrugated papers will come in time tomorrow..
  16. The covering is really pathetic for me.. And I have laminate flooring.. Cannot polish one.. So I ask Uncle Soon for more corrugated papers.. Or else later on, I know I bound to complain.. And he will have to change all my laminate flooring liao.. This will definitely be less cost effective for him... Sunny is really SUPER chatty.. And funny... We talked to him for quite long till his shop was closing the other day..
  17. I added one more tile to the browny combination.. Hope it looks well eventually.. The bling bling light is for MBR.. Smartie refuses to let me change the dining light now...
  18. Makes sense.. Will see how many rolls of paper do I have first.. Cover the flooring then the doors... Your home already looks very nice before reno.. Looking forward to more pics in your blog...
  19. Well.. Mine is hardly started.. When I see guy77's progress, I'm so envious.. I don't mind it's slow.. But it cannot delay too much if there's other schedule coming up... You need to chase up with Uncle Soon.. Heard that he has around 100 projects now.. I'm like .. I dunno how many has started, how many half way.. and how many finishing..
  20. Haha.. Hope you have a good time with him.. He's very funny..
  21. Wow.. Your home is so nicely covered.. Make me very determined to get all my flooring covered too... But why must door frame also covered? We are not changing the doors.. Only my glass door is covered now..
  22. Uncle Soon is supposed to start our toilet hacking today.. As usual, he was missing in action.. Called him and he said that he will start hacking tomorrow.. Hopefully, we will see him tomorrow at our home.. Fingers crossed.. He cannot delay further, or else our aircon cannot install and we need to pay penalty for the wasted trip.. And he's also supposed to put more corrugated paper on our flooring as we are not changing our flooring.. However, now you can only see mainly pathways in the house.. Hardly 50% of our home is covered.. Is this the norm? Progress is dead slow now.. One of our wall is supposed to be hacked and I think I told him more than 5 times so far.. And now the wall is still standing firm...
  23. Sunny is the boss, so have more say.. Anothe guy called Gary is also very friendly and both of them are very good in service.. Shared a lot of knowledge with us.. But I must say their things are not those cheap ones.. Quality wise seems pretty good to me.. We previously went to Genova as well.. But the sales person merely follow behind us and didn't provide much help.. So in the end, we didn't buy anything from them..
  24. Congrats to your moving in! Can feel the stress just by reading your blog.. The wallpaper issue must resolve, or else I believe you will always zoom in at that wall in the future.. Think everyone suffers some reno blues and fatigue during reno.. But working with Uncle can really get tiring.. I'm starting to feel tired chasing him to start work... Looks like Uncle always leave some rectification undone everywhere.. Pretty worried now.. My home have very min. corrugated paper, in fact only for pathways in the house.. Only MBR and kitchen are more covered.. I'm even thinking of getting those boxes and cover myself...
