dear all, how do you guys deal with the wires connecting from DVD players/Home Theatre Sys/Starhub cable to the TV? - leave them dangling as it is? - bundle them? - or any other ways to beautify it? mine is a wall mounted LCD. no false wall or wall feature hence all the wires are dangling all over the place. Is there any good or nice wire housing that I can get? Thanks in advance for any inputs.

ever happened to me...too much gas! the aircon will simply not be cold....so be careful abt gas topups...tat was my previous fuji electric... im using mitsu electric inverter now...for the fan speed thing, i jus set to auto..and let the aircon unit do its work..

most times contractor prob only show u catalogue to choose door design...likely no chance to see sample....if u wan, u can drop by BEST at kaki bukit terrace to have a feel how the veneer doors felt like...then u wil b able to see if ur contractor bluffed u....they hv many samples....i got my classic door from there...

i jus reno my 4 room 94sqm...and to be honest, some of your items are quite cheap. its almost contractor price. 1 To supply & lay 600x600mm homogeneous floor tiles for living room, 3 bedrooms & $5,000 entrance steps c/w skirting.(super gloss) [i think normal rate is 6.80psf, mine too] 7 To supply & install stainless steel piping for whole house. $580.00 17 To supply & install 3 nos solid nyatoh door for 3 bedrooms. $750.00 [during my own search, some of the "factory" price are alr $230 at least w install] 21 To supply & install 2 nos aluminium bi-fold door for 2 bathrooms. $360.00 [$190 per bifold is quite cheap] but some can be sourced yourself to save costs (such as 10 and 28). although its normal for owners to wan to slash contractor, but dont overdo it, u dun wan him to cut corners after clinching ur deal...which there are 101 ways to do so....im sure u dont wan to find out urself

hi by right acid shouldnt cause such problems...the acid is supposed to clean up the tiles surface (chemical wash)...i jus did myself (long story - my contractor stalled on my job for more than 3 mths and I had to change him). so far so good, it managed to remove the "dull" wax and brought out the shine for my homo tiles...incl removing all the paint traces and stains effortlessly... i suspect ur case could be a tiles quality problem...causing seepage and hence the damage... i also learnt reno the hard way....spent the past 3 days (labour day long wkend) with my wife scrubbing and rectifying the issues left behind by my contractor...and i also had some issues with tiles when my contractor act ran out of tiles and played some game telling me diff shipment may hv diff pigments and colour (even tho same colour code and model no), in the end i had no choice but to accept whatever tat is alr done....then comes the quality issue as well, as i almost wanted to buy cheaper tiles from a warehouse (like @1.90 psf homo tiles) cos i thought "they are all the same one la" ...how wrong was i...

hi bro im using LG scarlet LG60 42" in my parents house...overall happy with the purchase...i thk its strong point is its vibrancy of colour...very nice, design is modern too but the weak point is in the sharpness when watching football (i am avid follower of BPL and Champ League)....it is smooth but the image could b sharper i think...the other downside (from my dad consideration) was the durability of the brand (our previous philips 29" CRT served us without a hitch for more than 10yrs) but that was kinda solved by purchasing additional warranty...which we did... would say no regrets...

dear all, wld like to update my experience with the acid wash after a tiring weekend of washing whole house (tiles only) with acid. i learnt quite a bit aft the wash. this step effectively removes all the wax residue and paint traces on your new tiles, black tiles incl (bro boon pin, my black tiles are stil ok aft the wash, i had to take a risk on them as they were simply too dirty n normal detergent is not useful). it will also remove the stubborn dirt trapped on your white grout (eg. white homo tiles). however few things to special note: (1) wear good quality gloves (very impt) as when in contact w skin, it cause a burning feeling (2) wear a face mask, if u dun wan to keep taking in the acid fumes (a burnt smell) (3) avoid using acid to wash metal (very impt! it will blacken stainless steel. boo hoo hoo...then goes my once beautiful stainless steel rubbish chute n basin stand) (4) equip yourself w a scrapper to remove paint traces.. i thk most of u prob wont need to do yourself as its usu done by the contractor...but my contractor sigh....

watever ur requirement, make sure u get those downlights that are "easy to open and change bulbs" type....during my shopping, i was lucky the seller did not push me the old type downlights that wil cause damage to L Box during bulb changing...yesterday jus took one out to clean...jus unclick the glass panel, it was a breeze...very happy with the choice...

hi...both my entrance area (small balcony) and kitchen floor are black tiles...so they are now "outlined" by white grouting... im thking worse come to worst i wil jus use black marker...

hi all, what is the real purpose of acid wash? is it necessary? my contractor, after acid wash, caused the grouting to turn white (my tiles are black)...how to remedy? (he has since left my project). and also aft acid wash, for more than 1 month, workers are stil walking ard w boots, shoes on....to carry out other part of works.. btw he hs left behind a bottle of acid...if i were to diy, do i apply it straightaway or shd dilute it with some water?? hope experts here can help...thank you.

hi all my house reno is almost ready soon...so its time for more expenditure... so far i hv been walking courts, harvey, best, gain...the big stores...somehow the price diff seem quite big, depending who doing the promo...like this week courts promo this item while the same item cost higher in the other "big 4"...then another week, another big 4 promo another item.. jus wanna check where u guys buy your electronic stuff? any from those neighbourhood stores which some of my frens say can offer better deals? any recommendations? thanks alot.

im using downlights-ceiling fan combination too. no problems with shadow at all. act the so called cove lighting, i also have but mine is the suspended ceiling type with 3 flourescent tube, no shadow problem also. i wil try to take photo of my place this weekend...now stil in the midst of completing reno...

i went there for a quote too. the uncle n auntie are very honest pple. i hv come across too many NATO (No Action Talk Only) pple in this trade. My contractor is like that, me n my wife suffered for 3 months during the reno. back to topic, add about $150- 200 labour to your choice of wallpaper. they hv really good ones at 98 or 108 per roll.
