  1. act the norm is usually 20-30% upon signing...but that said thk she overpromised you and now her accounts side prob require her to top up... anyw r they big company? if they r, then shd b ok jus to close the deal....else drag too long doesnt benefit anyone...cheers..
  2. seriously quite high....after u factor in agent comm, potential reno, buying of furnishings etc, it may b a real drain on cash...
  3. hi Don, i can only help on your (3) based on a fren's experience....yes, you will be considered 1st time when u apply again.. take care...life goes on....be strong..
  4. im on black floor for my kitchen and toilet. its ok...no problems at all with maintenance...and i find it nice...no regrets...
  5. one more feedback for u....im also on painted kitchen walls (aft seeing my fren's and comparing w my mum's - traditional square white tiles)...went for painted for my own place and no regrets...jus go for it....if u do heavy cooking, jus rem to clean it every week and one more adv: u have hundreds of colours to choose versus tiles
  6. my kitchen walls are painted...no regrets...makes the whole place looks modern maintenance for tiles are also not easy....i rem i used to spend 1 day wiping them (mum's house) for our annual springclean and the oil stains are quite alot too..
  7. hmm i din know Mode Studio is Red Apple..was w parents at their kaki bukit branch looking at sofas...they were act quite keen on one...
  8. rewire for 3 room prob 1k thereabouts...the expensive part i thk is the light points...if u wan to fix downlights etc...that wil take up alot of pts and each pt cost min $30... overlay laminate is a good budget alternative....now they come w 10yr -15 yr warranty shd b quite ok.. cabinet is ard 90 -140...solid top prices start fr $70...

    Bar Stools

vhive....saw some nice ones ard 125 last week.. Furniture mall (near the other exit facing nicoll highway) there is a shop (sorry cant rem name) selling many types of chairs...
  10. hi Measure from wall to the MIDDLE of the hole...you can stil do this even tho there is existing WC.. i guess the main thing is to get feedback from users...i seem to hv some problems w my OTTO wc even tho it was more expensive...it jus doesnt flush as cleanly...but since no smell i hv taken the problem as it is for now... better that u ask ard before buying...good luck.
  11. kelantan lane there have...aluminium ones ard $12...stainless steel $60....good luck..
  12. hi mines quite similar to yours..4NG 92sqm 26yo flat also complete overhaul....but except grilles and window...that alr cost more than 25k... i jus roughly give u some indicative pricing: electrical works wil easily set u back 2k as well as fittings (such as WCs, basins, sink, hood n hob, taps etc) wil set u ard 2k..and doors even classic doors cost at least 150 each but fire rated doors at least 800 each..kitchen door depending on designs at least 500...bi-fold toilet doors at least 200 each...everything adds up... lastly i wld caution u not to choose cheap, unknown over established trusted contractors....cos these can easily come back to haunt u during and even way aft ur reno is completed....
  13. hv bought some items fr them for my new home...all ok except this new range shoe cabinet (glossy white/black finish)...the finish was not good at all and aft rectifying for 3 times, my wife finally accepted even tho i was not completely satisfied still..my main grouse is the alignment of the drawers are out..well for $318... anyw jus for info, other than wardrobes, alot of their items are from asia...like i was told my shoe cabinet is fr taiwan/china..
  14. hi u can get at ikea almost similar design at $49 and $59 (bigger piece).
  15. thanks born_again...these 2 alr gst n delivery factored in (the most sian hidden costs hehe).....so i guess i wil jus make a choice bet this 2....quite urgent to get also anyw u dun forget abt this weekend pc show....u can get ur 37" there...
  16. dear all, as above looking for a budget mattress for the guestroom. round down to Magic Koil ("Good Morning") and Wasaly ("US Spring"). anyone has any comments about these 2? Thanks...btw both are below $200 at beds.sg and sleeppost.com.
  17. do u experience any of the bad symptoms mentioned? if not, my personal view if it happens to me is not to do anything about it....
  18. thk this is the general consensus w ikea items....same for me, i shun their big items cos after adding in transport, assembly...it sometimes is no longer atractive. just to make a rant: i dun know why they hv this stupid rule of adding $20 to their $50 delivery charge if your unit is not served by a lift....i seriously dun see other companies hvg this charge.... guess they prob got a lot of feedback abt their quality & durability...u wil notice their wardrobes now come w 10yr warranty (???)...
  19. same for me i stay in the older house with only LPG option...anyw i hardly receive any mailers...which is good???? hehe...
  20. hihi act that was my question also...esp the "heads" are not interchangeable so once u sign up w one brand, u usu end up with them...so far if jus talk on price, ya union is the cheapest...
  21. hihi...thanks for your reply. ya in the end we decided to go for another brand. act we are ok w it being made in batam....jus tat their pana-tech coils doesnt really equate to pocketed springs so we went for "real" pocket spring mattress.
  22. neighbour i stay at blk 158. i plastered my home in 2 stages - initially jus living room (try to save cost) that cost me $1000 for both ceiling and walls. then at the urging of my parents, i had no choice but to spend extra for plastering of all 3 rooms as well as kitchen ceiling (cos the condition was really bad, even fresh coat of paint didnt help). every room i was charged abt $800...so about $200 per wall...which i thk is reasonable la.... hmmm as long as no need redo floor, i estimate for ur house size, u shd b able to save 8k thereabouts... agree with Born Again, that you should consider painting yourself....for 5 room flat, its usually 1.5k at least...buy your material prob $200-300..... re-wiring can be really exp too....usu 2k at least for whole house...suggest u get a recommended electrician see first...if wires stil ok, dun worry no need to re-wire...jus change power pts can alr....
