  1. Care to explain more Deep? I'm interested in getting the pole system from Alumix too. How bad is the workmanship?
  2. Your 3rd picture definitely doesn't look normal. It looked like the laminate was over cut.
  3. How about this way? I'm not sure how your sofa can separate so i just try rotating. Looks a little awkward but well it's on the condition of not hacking anything.
  4. Wah your floorplan very chim very hard to see. How far is the distance between the projector and sofa now? You also have to considering light flares from outside whethere it will reflect off the screen.
  5. Welcome to Reno-talk! Space planning usually forumers who have some computer knowledge will use some floorplanning programs to do their space planning and layout. There's a few popular free programs around like floorplanner, sweet home 3d and google sketchup. The 3 i named are the one i find easier to use with exception to sketchup which takes some getting use to. Design wise i think you can generally get ideas from everyday things and of course home decor magazines.Anyways we have a lot of helpful ladies and gentlemen so feel free to to ask if you have any doubts BUT! Do use the search function to see if the topic has been discussed before.
  6. Any Gplan users to feedback on their workmanship?
  7. Did you decide on the paint type on yourself or did your contractor advised you? For me i'm thinking of using the Nippon Easy Wash w Teflon hope it's good enough though. Initially i wanted an open concept too but this way the kitchen cabinet wall will connect to my living room and form a total length of 10m! Not sure if it'll look funny.
  8. mel take and post some pictures of your completed and move-in condition home~~~ until now only saw your kitchen didn't see the other areas in their glory.
  9. Gratz mel on your newly renovated home.
  10. Should be Google Sketchup cos i'm using it too.
  11. Ok so seems like feedback is pretty positive. Go go painted kitchen!!!
  12. I think you are getting the wrong idea, it's how comfortable you are with the firms rather than the number you visited. There are forumers who's hardworking enough to visit 20 firms. How much is enough? It's whether you find the person you talk trustworthy enough to entrust your reno works to. And of course more quote means you can have a better comparison of the rates of the different category of works. As for your second requirement i think it's monetary to have a written receipt or invoice of any kind be it add-on or additional. When you're paying for something in the thousands, definitely you'll want your proof of purchase right? As for your flooring question i think get other experts to answer ba.
  13. You watch too much jacky wu liaoz hahaha... Yeah i think i'll just go for those easy wash paint. Most cost effective method and doesn't spoil the looks.
