Hi Reiki, can i seek an information from you? You mentioned in your blog "Though we managed to get the color code from Legrand for its silver colour and gotten the electrician to spray paint the base, we didn't want to employ too many of it in the house." I have asked my electrician to spray paint the white bases for me too...but he said the colour might not match exactly and so I immediately remembered that you mentioned abt colour code. Can you share with me the colour code for the silver colour that legrand use? Thanks a lot.

Some updates to my fellow forummers: Reno Diary 21 June 2009, Sun: Went to Massimmo for first time to buy L-shaped sofa. But had previously surfed there website for weeks. So we knew what we wanted. Went there, chose the sofa, customised the length to 3m; customised the legs to Penne S/S legs; chose the fabric, negotiated the price after 25% GSS discount; got the freebies as advertised; asked for more (1 only) freebie. Saleslady said will email me the customised 3D pic on 24 June 09. Good service. 22 June 2009, Mon: Hacking commenced. What a mess. Wardrobe, kitchen cabinet, foyer partition and both bathrooms were stripped bare. Heart pain. Went to Balestier to hunt for a glass block to replace the one broken on my wall next to the main door. Found similar one but not exact. Sian. 23 June 2009, Tues: Electrician Uncle came to put up the wiring for the MBR and WIW. Very friendly. Bought snacks from Old Chang Kee for him and the tiler. All wiring completed by 1730. Tilers came and had a lengthy discussion with ID on the placement of the tiles and some other technical issues which are yet to be resolved/confirmed. False ceiling guys came too. ID made a lengthy explanation to them on the idea of the wall partition behind bedhead for the WIW inside. Very serious. Before all these, we went to Hoe Kee around Malay Village (Tanjong Katong Complex). Nice Damixa shower head and taps. High chance buy from there. Tomorrow, tiling will commence but not before technical issues are resolved. Question: We have a question to ask all for opinion: What is the height between the bottom kitchen cabinet (aka worktop surface) and the top kitchen cabinet? ie the height of the space between the top and bottom kitchen cabinets. The design proposed by our ID seems to make the space really small. Can any kind soul please enlighten us?

i think your shoe cabinet is nice...very good in fact...if its mirror sliding door...then it will be too common...and no designer effect.... but of cos, practicality wise, i cant comment...maybe sliding easier...

hi Ivy...nice tiles there....IMHO, i think the rain shower looks high, but it is actually ok, cos u wanna rain effect from the rain shower, so by being high, it gives the feeling the water drop down from a high level (like the sky? tats why its "rain"?)....if its too low, it might feel like any shower head...but tat's just my thinking.

will u be tokking to ur ID again? if so, can ask him if he used the SOLID CORE white laminate? but if too troublesome then its ok.... haiz...me contemplating asking ur ID to do my tv console....
-
for ur bookshelf parts with the white laminates....are the black joint lines obvious?
-
skyblue! i tot u forgot about me! my ID and project coordinator was actually looking at your tv console pictures with me this evening and they were literally stunned and amazed by the workmanship too (the white console part)! they said its not possible that u used white laminates because there is no joint lines at all and they pressed me to get an answer from u cos they are very eager to know how its done.... how how? my ID even suspect that u might have used solid surface for the tv console....very atas$$$$... i dun think they will believe its white laminate....i feel so sad now...
-
huh then how? not logical to ask u to always remove the compartment to access the powerpoints right? ask them to rectify?
-
"in between the game"???? wat game? haha...or "gap" u mean ...
-
very nice cabinet...looks just like the 3D...wat material used? white pvc?
-
i dun think need to leave a gap....neater this way
-
i think option 3 is better but u must be careful abt splashing water onto the powerpoint
-
hehe..no prob at all!
-
really not worthwhile ah? but no choice leh...i quite anal about laminate joint lines especially on white laminates and the feature wall at the dining area will be full of joint lines if done the laminate way.... skyblue's white tv console is a good example of zero joint lines and its so pretty...
-
yeah..its a corner...but i dunno 5wat leh...i think 5I bah.... yeah. since like the whole world including my wife and myself like Option A...(my design leh, wakaka)... so if the ID cannot produce it for me, looks like i will....join...the UNCLE AH SOON club!!!... dunno if it is ridiculous to ask him to just produce thay particular one item anot...hehe
-
hehe..thanks skyblue for making the effort to answer my qns....just one simple qn, is the white portion of the console covered in laminate? if so, can help me ask ur ID how come the joint line is invisible? issit because he used solid core laminate? hehe..paiseh huh...cos ur tv console just too nice liaoz~!
-
yayyy! thank you....i hope its more fun than anguish.....
-
wow!!!! your tv console does not have any joint lines at all!!! incredible workmanship!...how is it done??? who is ur contractor?
-
hi all, thanks for the voting....we also like Option A...have asked the ID to find a cheaper alternative....like fabricating the in-out board and then spray-painting it. Laminating it is a no-no cos there will be many many unsightly joint lines. this will add $300-$400, according to ID. I hope so too. Btw, collected keys this afternoon!!! whole transaction only take 11 min! woohoo!

I got same question regarding the homo tiles too. If it looks dull or starts to lose its shine, can it be polished like marble floor?
-
my condolences to you and your family....
-
hehe....thanks...but no need to be too close up...cos we wun put our head so near the tv console mah...keke.... when i mean obvious, its like if u sit there or walk past it...does the joint lines stand out and contrast itself from the "whiteness" of ur beautiful tv console..

ur MBR toilet is very nice....and the LG HT system looks good too....how much is it?
