  1. Haha... my dad works there too! He prefers the Old Phonenix Park even though the new one is more convenient.
  2. Your girl's artwork is really good!
  3. MBR piping..what can I do to disguise it?! What I will see when I wake up every morning: Pipes going through the wardrobe area.. which means I have to make a small panel where the pipes are otherwise the sliding dr won't close. Look at the humongous corner: How it looks like on the outside with all the pipes sticking out:
  4. I went to the cave this afternoon to check the layout of the aircon pipes. Was wondering why the place looked so bright when I finally noticed bdrm 2 windows have been changed. It's so much brighter compared to the louvered windows! The toilet windows have been changed too! Aircon piping..Yikes! It's so **** big!! I suppose that's the problem with getting half inch insulation.. Box-up neatly done: Piping at bdrm 2 also neat:
  5. Hmmm...I think I need to settle down and seriously calculate my expenditure thus far. I'm more ngeow over the cost of wetworks and fittings because I can't take them with me if I were to move, but furniture is something that you can bring with you when you move, so I'm prepared to splurge a bit. (Though a $2K dining table would be too much even for me).
  6. hmm...What did you see? My solid teak super single bedframe was less than $500. But some of her things are pricey.. Nah.. won't be reupholstering the chairs..Will leave it as it is until the cat scratches it to death..
  7. Dun say... you know I wanted to build my table, right? But Ikea charges each cut they make of the countertop and I would need to find a brace to the tabletop for the weight. I just don't have the tools to do it. I'm now thinking how to use the Numerar countertop without cutting it for my TV console with Capita legs. My concern is that Capita legs can't hold the weight..
  8. Dining set bought.. Looks like the mood is getting more and more retro... Colours of the chair remind me of Lilithfiend's wall color.. The dining surface is laminate and the chairs have been newly upholstered. My mum is going to freak out for buying something that is so 60s!
  9. Vintage venzian (see post #222, Pg 6). Gimz was saying that it looked something like his MBR one.
  10. Bro... that one super duper ex!
  11. I was reminded again yesterday why it is so important to buy a good shower set and tap. Yesterday, the shower hose screw(or is it a nut? not sure what you call it) to the shower head broke into tiny pieces when I tried to take the shower head out of its holder!! There I was showering halfway when the **** thing broke. So I had to complete my shower is just the hose (imagine washing your hair with one hand and holding the hose with another). It was a cheapo set I bought last year at a neighbourhood shop. The previous shower head that came with the condo started having issues in the 3rd -4th year (spray not strong, like something stuck, water dripping) So if I plan to stay more than 5 years in my place, some things really cannot scrimp..otherwise you will have to live with the sudden inconvenience at the most inappropriate time..
  12. Hey Ossify, Check with you.. you know the storeroom shelves in post 20? Where can I find them and what are they called?
  13. get roller blinds. Minimal cleaning.
  14. WIW coming up nicely MBR loo extension basin area Kitchen Loo being tiled The start of the kitchen loo feature wall I may ask them to move the feature wall tiles up so that it would be in line with the other wall tiles. It does not need to be in line at the top, but I think the centre portion is impt coz that's where people will look at. But because the size of the tiles are different ( feature wall tile is 45 x45), normal wall tile is 60x60, it may be difficult to do so..
  15. nice buys there! sometimes the simplest no frills design is the hardest to find! I oso say! I'm now having a headache finding a nice, loooong, TV console. There's nothing that I like out there. Those that I like are about $2K! now u going retro...haha.... I realised I really like certain aspects of the industrial theme, but not all ( the practical Singaporean in me coming out). I like certain aspects of the 60's look, but not all.. I like clean lines on my furniture, but absolutely adore the intricacy of moroccan grilles.. So I've decided that a more suitable theme for me would be "Eclectic". where's this place? share here la.... ok ok... don't say gd things i don't share with all of you. I've got them fromSecond Charm. Sharifah is a very nice lady who is doing a job I would love to have (go around Singapore & M'sia and source for old vintage furniture and restore them to their original beauty)
  16. pm-ed. You all can tell the owner that you heard about her shop from me.. Maybe that way I can get a bit more discount if I buy other stuff from her.
  17. I finally found the perfect bedframe I was looking for!! I have been searching and searching for a simple, super single wooden bedframe with a plain wooden headboard. I cannot believe how hard it is to find a wooden bedframe without a padded headboard..The scanteak ones that I like are available in queen or king size only. The one I've found is a secondhand, retro 1960s bedframe that's been restored. This is the queen-sized version. They have a super single version which I bought immediately coz it's not easy to get a super single vintage bedframe(it's usually single or queen). I love the pencil legs and clean lines! .... I know it's still too early to buy the non-essential stuff, but I couldn't resist! I bought a restored teak display cabinet as well. This is one of the very few with pencil legs. The others that are in the shop have flat or U-shaped legs that are heavier looking. The handles of the one I bought are different from the picture below and much nicer.. I'm a sucker for pencil legs..
  18. MBR toilet never change. The one on the picture is the MBR one... I'm going to pop by tonight to see if they have done the common toilet one. They are connecting the pipes back to the toilet for drainage under the flr for the basin.
  19. First tiled wall of MBR loo How they accomodated the pipe Dustbin about to be fixed This was just too funny that I had to take a picture.. Hope it's "hua" though!
  20. New wall btw the 2 bedrms Walk-in Wardrobe created Extension of MBR loo (where the basin would be) Kitchen/toilet area nicely plastered
  21. tell me about it.. originally, mine was a moden, industrial look too. Now, it's more like "whatever I can afford and looks nice" theme.
  22. Popped by this morning before work to take a look at the place.. the new walls are up! Will upload photos tonight. Sanitaryware is being delivered today, its very early in the process but no choice as contractor needs to see how to mount the laundry sink.
