Veneer doors have hollow, semi-solid & solid. when i did mine, i when down to factory to chk it out b4 i mk my purchase. & i learn the following & hope that they can be help to you. Hollow - typically using HONEYCOMB cardboard. which is extremely light weight & least durable Semi-solid - filled with @ least 2cm wood strip in d door with maximum 20cm gap each. Heavier than hollow & more contact with glue thus more durable & less hollow knocking sound Solid - Fully filled with wood with not gap within, mostly used for main door. most durable & most ex. Hollow price are super cheap like $200+++ cos material used is very little. Semi-solid are usually range @ $300+ cos they are solid wood strip & weight @ least 20kg more than hollow Solid will cost u ard $400 for room & $500+ for main door which are thicker. So here u have it. dont get charge for Semi-solid when they give u hollow doors.. haha

Haha!! that was 1 of the model i used to "beo", but Samsung SHS-1110 is quite an old model. Was already off the shelves when i made my purchase 1 mth bk. the last time i chk out the rates, they were clearing it @ $399 with installation not sure gt GST incl or not. But even with GST max u pay is only $427. you can call that SE who sold me my YALE to check if he still hv stock. PM me if u need their contacts he's quite a helpful chap & gave me Yale vouchers when i buy YDR2108. my personal opinion is i rather pay a bit more for newer models cos they tend to be more updated in terms of software & aesthetics.

same prob with my in-laws!! hahah those supplier super hit&run biz. haha.. i installed a bifold latch on d door to frame.. 3 its a unglam quick fix. but its locks.. they r currently looking for replacements doors as well. d cheapest we looked ard was those aluminum ones which cost ard $190 or those super old type of multi-folding ones @ $150

i thk u cn change doors lor. cos u cant unwarp a door. & i tot most cabinet door r not solid timber, they wont warp rite? all my cabinets are compress chipboards. many years liao nvr gt warp prob..

hope its not too late. my dad used to be a carpenter. sm things u cn change for your self 1. cos tt day, when i gt my digital door lock installed, he also showed me how he change d gate lock. its really simple if u hv the tools. if nt, there is a cheaper alternative. if u r redo-ing any of ur doors. ask the carpenter to help u change them. he usually will ask for a smaller sum compared to locksmiths. eg: locksmiths: - $20 transport - $20 - 80 labor per lock - $$$ mark up for locks sold to u. carpenter - waived transport, since he's already there - $5 - 40 labor per lock - $$ lesser mark up. or if u wanna DIY u need to take gd measurements & bring ard ur old lock to look for replacement. i when to this industrial bldg in Bedok, brought d old locks & they tot me to diy. i got the locks @ distributor price & save $$ on labor. Pure stainless steel 1 cost ard $9+ i thk. [which i thk a bit ex la.] i got mine non-S/Steel @ $4.50 in this shop in bedok when i did my doors. but tt shop got pure stainless steel 1. u cn call them @ 64424904 to check it out

yeah! i thk only 1 lock is not reliable. i prefer a tradition key lock for gates 2. i'm using the new YALE digital YDR2108. installed above my existing lock. then change the cylinders to for door & gate to key-alike. traditional locks only used @ nite, lock before we slp. a bit kiasu i knw.

actually i very suay 1. nobody @ my plc during the day, then my neighbor's kids like to play along d corridor. & they find my lock fascinating & like to play with it. sm time i came hm realizing the lid was open.. d final call was they put super glue on the glass where the scanner was. & nw 'MY SUPPLIER" [no names mentioned, cos dun wanna spoil ppl's biz] has not stock since they hd discontinued item cos the new tech is RFID's nw. so they r stopping biometrics. while my warranty period had expired, more than 1 yr. they say if i wanna replc the damage glass. i gotta wait 3mths for them to freight the spares in or they offer me to buy their newer models @ a lower cost. which i had no confidence in them... Now im considering either Yale or Samsung, [not to mk advert for the them, but its really safer/reliable over d long run] Moreover i gotta knw of this shop www.contatdecor.com tt is selling Yale @ sm promo rate. So for all those who r buying this Digital lock, this shop gave me a really gd advise: if u r replacing your gate, u can get them to customize it in the sense tt i blocks the lock when its close so tt u avoid UNNECESSARY ATTENTION & ppl can play with it.

Just a word of advice.. personally i wont recommend to by from sm small scale supplier.. cos sm of them maybe hit&run biz.. no offence... y not consider a reputable brand? they will hv better service support & spare parts in stock. if i tell u my story of tt lousy biometric i bought 1yr+ ago.. u will cry for me.... im totally skeptical & will only go for big names for reliability & i make sure they r prominent player in d mkt & hv gd service support. ps im nt here to slam & promote any brand but its personal experience.

1. i would recommend Gatemen for sure.. Samsung looks really chio but they r only using the brand name. 2. i think the hype abt d fingerprint is really getting stale.. cos my previous lock was damage cos someone [suspect my neighbor's kid] go put super glue on the glass, ] then when i contact the company. they tell me the 1yr warranty period is over & changing the glass will cost $500.. eventually, i only use the pin number to enter... 3. i thk currently, there is the YALE DIGITAL lock which I heard from tt imm shop tt Yale bought over gatemen. & u may not see any new gatemen in d future. i thk most of them will only make d alarm sound if u play with it for too long. 4. & yes i thk both samsung, gatemen & yale has fire-safety, but non of them are fire-proof cost hey are plastic & obviously will melt. I'm actually boycotting those fingerprints 1 nw. cos i rather scan card or key in password. now im looking for this YALE model. they just launch recently & got some promo price. price in very good nw.. that model i like was selling @ only $788 with installation. & i thk i knw 1 shop can fetch me a better discount

totally got what u r talking abt.. what was the problem?? rusty & noisy? hahah... my renovator introduce me this shop in Bedok industrial. they sold me that hinge for $9 per pc. but they those plastic ones in beige color. the "metal body" version is around $18 per pc. but they only hv 1 size, so u gotta take out one of the hinge when u go down, so that u buy d right stuff.. i lost the address of that plc & d name of the shop. but i only hv d tel in my hp. call: 64424904 they are the wholesaler of many items & are very bz. So u gotta look for this guy call Jonas, he'll knw what u r looking for. Best of luck!
