Hi all, I got my keys to my EM at Jurong West on the 1 Aug...and started my renovation on 6 Aug. I only have a month to complete my renovation and planning to move in on the 1st week of Sept after the Chinese 7th month. I want to start my t-blog but really too busy with work...but I will try to start one soon. My unit is the type with odd shapes that some of you might say no no but somehow we choosen it....hahaha ....kinda fated (long story, will share in my T-blog) This house condition is kinda Ok , renovated about 4 year plus ago but the previous owner never really take care of it so many area I need to spend money... Just to summarize the work to be done and my list of Contractor 1) plastering the whole house 2) laminated flooring for staircase and 2nd floor rooms 3) overlay balcony tiles 4) Change staircase railings 5) Main door 6) roller shutter 7) Carpentary work for TV cabinets (with features wall), Cabinets for MBR and 3rd room. 8) Changing all doors to kitchen Cabinets and full height oven cabinet 9) Aircon System 4 10) Plumbing work for toilets -changing toilet bowl, basin etc. 11) Spraying over toilet wall and floor (wall for 1st floor, wall and floor for common and floor for MBR) 12) Curtain and blinds 13) Ceiling Work 14) Electrical work - add/ relocate socket, Lan port, SCV point and lightings. List of Contractor invloved 1) Main Contractor - My beloved Henry from ID note again 2) Supreme Laminate floor - Kelvin 3) Faith Coat for tile spraying - Philip 4) Aron and Ah Boon for Air Con 5) Jia Xin Design - Sam for Curtain and Blinds. So far, these contractors I met are really very nice people that give me very good support and service...but I will give a more details review of each of them after they completed their work... Hi TwinHills, Sorry to borrow your topic... but I have to say I totally agree with you of Aron and Ah Boon working attitude Especially Ah Boon. I have recently engage them to help me on a Mitsubushi Inventor System 4 and with a very short notice to helps to remove my old aircon for my contractor to do whole house plastering. Even with Ah boon busy schedule, really make an effort to come over at 4pm to help me remove all my old trucking and aircon unit. This is something that those big player will never be able to meet. Understand that I have a very tight renovation schedule, Ah Boon has once again agree to help me to schedule a trip this Thursday afternoon to install piping and run trucking so that my contracter can start the painting work on Friday.... I really appreciate his help. As I am very busy recently with work recently and has yet to have the time to start my t-blog to Thanks group of contractors that so far helps me meeting my tight renovation schedule, but when I come across this topic, I am in total agreement twinhills comments of Aron and Ah boon company... Once again...Thanks bro Aron and Ah Boon....

Congrats on get your Em and started the Reno. I know which block and unit is yours...because I am staying at the nearby block. Actually this is one of my dream block for Em...and I also view the unit. But I chosen another unit at blk 71X and getting my keys next week and starting Reno the following week. Hi, Will like to sell the following Ceiling Lights brought from overseas . 30 light sources with exposed wired...very industrial look. Dimension - Height 62cm and width 80cm. Adjustable steel wired (Approx 1m) for hanging down from ceiling Let go @ $200 come with normal E14 Light bulb(30nos) if you want a remote control add another $25 but you need to get your electrician to wire up the remote to the light for you. (I buy the remote separately) Reason for selling, too big for where we want to hang. Hi Aron, Regarding your Special Renotalk Price: $3750 nett for Mitsubishi Inverter system 4 (new model, 18kbtu + 9kbtu X 3) May I know what is the total BTU of the compressor? 18K + 3 x9K is only the blower right? Is this Starmex or Heavy Industy model? A question, can blower be installed on partition wall? Thanks

Hi HappyAng, Congrats on your completion of reno and moved in... I got my EM and will start reno in Aug. As I was thinking to do some storage place under the staircase like what you did, understand that hacking will need to be done under the staircase. In this case, do we need to engage a PE for such hacking ? or just need to apply for renovation permit from HDB? Thanks in advance for reply.... Cheers

Hi all, Contacted the person and sign with them for 2 toilet floor and 2 toilet wall...seen their booth in expo...really good stuff... I think alot of contractor and ID will give negative remarks on the product and will tells you that these coating no use one...cannot last. Personnally I think you must see it yourself to give the judgement. I think the product is good and the only reason that ID and reno contractor don't encourage is that it will conflict with their profit...they earn more from tiling and hacking... Will give a more detail review once I done it in Aug... cheers

Hi, No advice from anyone... Anyway just read somewhere that have 3 doors in a bedroom is not so good for the lady in the room...so decided to drop the idea of the walk-in wardrobe... As for partition wall is still consider a wall...so is not an issue.

Hi, Can I seek some advice on these 2 queries as I have a odd shape bedroom that I intend to bulid a false wall for a walk-in wardrobe to cover the odd shape wall at one side of the room and having my bed headboard against on the false wall. 1) Is a false wall (partition) consider a fixed wall for placing the bed headboard against which is always adviceable for feng shui for bed placement. Or it will be seen like the bed now is floating in the middle of the room? 2) To have a walk-in wardrobe mean I need to have another walk-in door in the same room, other then the room door and the toilet door. Is it bad in Feng shui? I heard some saying that this is bad for health to the lady sleeping in the room. Any opinion here will be Thanksful...

Hi Adidaem, Thanks for the reply... Yup, done the reno on my 4 rm about 3 years ago and actually have no intention to source for other unit. Keep telling myself unless I see an EM for just the 2 blocks that I aiming then I will go for viewing. About a month plus ago seen this unit and both myself and wife kinda like it so decided after 1 viewing... I doing very well...no lah, life is never easy for me as I am the sole bread winner in the family with kids of 2. Will start my t-blog when nearer to reno stage...Cheers

I recently got a Gen 2 EM too and is planning for some renovation work in 2 to 3 months time. 2 items that I hope you can share with me the cost. 1) The white handrail for your staircase 2) The roller Shutter in your balcony.
