  1. After quite a few rounds of deliberations i chose the decals from renotalk . Some of their designs are irresistable! This is one of my favorites: Had to paste everything myself, which freaked me out a little.. but it turns out pretty easy to do. Their decals are waterproof too, and it works well on my bathroom walls (i pasted over the tiles which get wet pretty often; no problem so far n it's been a couple of months). Good luck if you're still looking!
  2. aw... very sad... but thank u for advice
  3. thank u gladys... but really no chance to get the exact same one ah? aw... think it wld look quite obvious even if only slightly different, bcoz the difference will be amplified to the size of a big fridge, somemore it will be right side-by-side with the old laminate.. sigh
  4. hi all, we bought a resale flat with this set of built-in cabinets really nicely done, but it has a 'hole' which was where the previous owner placed his wine collection chiller thingie (like a fridge). really want to extend the built-in cabinet to cover the empty space as well, but it's so hard to find the same laminate which was used for the original set from 5 yrs ago... the laminate we need is R4230SO (Oak Braun) from Seng Lee. any ideas where i can go look for it? have called Seng Lee but they don't have it anymore. any small shops u know of might still have a little bit of stock left of this laminate? pls share their phone numbers/website so i can check with them, thank u so much!
  5. hi hi, since i'm new in this forum.. just wondering why everyone's asking for the supplier contact by PM, is it against the forum rules to just post it so every1 can see? pls kindly advise thanx
  6. wonder if some schools already have a such workshop (e.g. ITE? no idea..) that they use for related classes. there was a workshop with a good collection of tools etc. in my high school (in sydney) for 'design & tech' classes. it was great fun n very practical. sg schools got or not?
  7. icic, thanks terazzo! i wonder if IPA is suitable for use on clear plastics/acrylics? would it make the surface dull?
  8. forgot to mention, for the wall stickers i'm looking at this one from www.renotalk.com : , coz right now my wall is just a blank white space n i think it would contrast well with the tree (and my TV will be just nicely settled under the tree branches hehe). the wall decal is not cheap, but i think abt the time it would take to paint it and then the cost of getting paints etc.. and risk of screwing it up... then maybe it's not that expensive after all heehee hi Clockwork, do u have any pricing in mind can pls share with us? thank u so much n look forward to ur advice on how u did the wall paintings...
  9. oh my gosh!! clockwork n christine, you are so talented!! i love painting too as a hobby but so far i've only worked on canvas, dare not paint on the walls becoz it's such a large scale work n i'm so scared of messing it up n end up with something i'm not happy with.. but what you guys did was amazing!!! i've been thinking of decorating the big wall in my living room (beside & behind TV), actually considering using wall stickers instead of really painting it on the wall.. coz less risky (no confidence in my wall painting skills haha) n less permanent (can safely peel away if we get sick of it). but loveee to hear more abt ur experience, pls share... did u have to do many layers to get vivid/solid colors? did it take much time for each layer to dry? did u use any special paints or varnish?? may i know how long it took you to complete each wall/panel??
  10. oops.. saw ur thread subject n was going to suggest ikea.. too obvious ah, sorry haha.. maybe u can share what do u consider moderate pricing?
  11. u can check out this site www.renotalk.com.. a friend of mine got it for her living room and bedroom walls. according to faq it should work on glass also ba.. i'm eyeing them myself but haven't decided which one to get since there are quite a few very nice ones there.. haha they're not cheap though!
