  1. Sammy jie, technically, if you want a knife storage, you should ask your ID/carpenter to build it for you from a wooden block. This wooden block should have space for 1 chopper, several medium/big knives (18-24cm long) and 2-3 small knives (ard 10cm long) So this wooden block would sit nicely on your kitchen drawer. This would be the best solution.
  2. Not strong enough and it would usually break when i use it
  3. I vaguely remember about this one. If you're gog to buy from them, just double/triple check on the quality.
  4. Poison about Japanese Knife http://stickofachef.wordpress.com/2007/12/...apanese-knives/ If I still cook regularly by end of year, I would buy a new Gyuto knife
  5. Somehow we never go rivervale mall Nvm, this weekend gog vivo, there's daiso there. Otherwise, near my office also got muji (so many poisons in my surroundings) But I would not get those cutie ones ...
  6. There are 2 major shops there ... Sia Huat and Lau Choy Seng (can't rem the exact spelling) Opposite the road of Lau Choy Seng, there's another shop selling ceramic plateware,etc.. I think their prices are good and reasonable.
  7. Let me ask a non-poisonous question. Where to buy a portable spoon/form/chopstick set? I'm thinking to bring my lunch occasionally to office and I don't want to use the common pantry utensils. (or if sammy jie starts to sell her bento )
  8. Exactly. With correct temperature, the alumunium pan would be non-stick. Have you tried to check the kitchen supplies store at chinatown? They sell with great price. Remember to ask for 20% discounts also
  9. I have green-pan. And maybe due to maintenance or usage, the food still sticks ... Maybe I should post the pic of my 1 yr old green pan
  10. I have nothing against dog. Sometimes I like that dogs are cute but that stops there. I rented a room frm my fren who is a dog owner before. I see the hassle: - Always have to bring the dog out in morning and evening EVERYDAY. So much hassle. - House becomes dirty due to dog furs. - Doors are scratched by dog who scared when alone during rain. - Scratch mark on the sofa. The good thing of having a dog is so small compared to the hassle. Now new place, neighbours have dog. When go back at night, the dog always surprised us by barking suddenly. Stayed for few months already and it still can't recognize us. I feel want to "kick" the dog for surprising us.
  11. Well ... Always put some log on these things. Even fsm, good dates, etc. have "logic". If don't follow logic, every month is a "bad month".
  12. Go to www.razorsharp.com.sg their office is at Boon Tat building, near Outram there.
  13. So nice. The time I receive my keys, I immediately change my mailbox. Change of the institutions mailing address also. The previous owner's letter is piling up and we are holding them. I've told the agent (who subsequently contact the prev owner) about the letters and ask when does he want to collect. Until now, no reply. Letters left cold in the store room. New letters come in would go to "returned mail" box immediately.
  14. Yeap ... And some other ppl in this forum also. I never heard no one that not being advised not to tilt the door
  15. No problem. Happy cooking and show us ur bento pics next time
  16. He would definitely ask you to tilt your door. Confirmed. So better be prepared.
  17. The stainless steel blade is thicker. The handle is well-built so nicer to hold. The knife is also well-balanced so easier to cut. For durability, german style knives tend to be "soft" hence need to resharpen once in a while. sammy jie, if i were, i would send the expensive knife to professional sharpener common folks like us don't know the proper sharpening technique and might destroy the blade. Unless, u wan to change the blade every 2 years
  18. Do you have the contact for the Dempsey road one?
  19. As long as they are from the same source, it's fine. This is to save the delivery/shipping cost
  20. Ah, we have 3 people now ... Anyone else? Minimum would need 5
  21. Actually, I don't understand why it can rust when it almost never touch with water. The amount of oxidization with the air won't make the rivet to rust so fast. And again, even it rusts, what would be the impact?
  22. Alamak ... because I'm not rich so always have to keep an eye of all these lobangs Any kind of model you're looking for?
  23. No no ... didn't do any market research. Just thinking a loud that if many people really keen, then I can try to bring it in and become online retailer. But so far only 2 persons?
