  1. We got it at S&C Furniture AMK I love the table, long and very spacious.
  2. Erm ... for Billy bookcase, actually i have the top extension also. And reno has finished so I don't think i want to move the trunking. I am thinking to cut it so at least, the bookshelf can move a little bit behind. and not wasting too much space. I could put the bookshelf in another locations but it's sub-optimum. The current place is the best. I am tempted to try my hand and trim the bookshelf
  3. Hmm .... sounds fishy. Waterproofing can not be rushed. Because you need time for the water proofing. If he said it would be done in 1 day, most probably it's BS. You better check the waterproofing works. You wouldn't want everything is ready then suddenly need to redo the flooring again due to water proofing.
  4. The things that you SHOULD do in reno: - Toilets - Electrical - Aircon - Any hacking works - Painting - Flooring (kitchen flooring would be tricky) Because if you do the above in later stages, the impact would be too much. The rest of items can always wait, these include: - Kitchen cabinets - Window Grill - Doors - Pendant light - The other carpentry works
  5. Did he signed anything? Or, you are only holding the $1k cheque? From the looks of it, nothing much you can do. Not worth to sue him. Might as well move on ...
  6. Do less carpentry, you can always do the carpentry next time
  7. I think on the 1st place, even when the seller is desperate, he should not take "hands-off" approach by signing a PA and let the agent run the show ....
  8. Thanks for the glass contact, might need that in future too
  9. Won't the seller know the selling price with higher value in the end? Unless, with the PA, the seller never ever need to go to HDB, sign anything only in the end he find out and it's too late?
  10. Buying a house from HDB is like that. There's no feeling at all. Only a piece of paper .... haha Congratz
  11. Yeap, but granite can not give the seamless appearance. You will see the joints and can granite do undermount sink?
  12. Modifying a bookshelf As mentioned before, my aircon trunking is **** horribly big. It gives some problem to my IKEA Billy bookshelf. Is it possible and advisable to cut/trim some parts so i will fit to the trunking? Here is the picture ...
  13. I think it has something to do with the "shine" and the quality of the top it self I'd rather go for a better brand to save the trouble in future.
  14. My MBR Toilet Tap issue is resolved !! So happy. Few days ago, I gave a call to my contractor. I ask her if I buy a new tap, can she help to install for me. I told her because the tap water debit is so low and it's so upsetting. Then she told me not to waste any money. The debit is low because there is water filter that supposed to make it water efficient. So, she told me I could just took that filter out and everything will be fine. She would ask her worker how to do that. Before she told me, I was already itchy hand and opened up the "mouth" of the tap. I saw there are 2 plastic water filter, 1 with big holes and 1 with small holes. I removed the filter with small holes then put the rest back in. And the water debit now makes me happy No need to spend money also.
  15. Yeah, how often do you cook? I love to cook but time is definitely "was" an issue. Currently, I am shopping to stock up my kitchen and checking out on japanese chef's knife :D
  16. Cool ... I also in the same thoughts of way for dining table. But didn't have the energy to do DIY. So we bought from S&C. I have been specifically mentioning that I want a BIG table and we bought this 180cm long and thick wood table.. with the chairs it cost almost $1k. I am not sure about the quality but If you get from the timber shop directly, it should be better. Keep us updated with your DIY project.
  17. If your agent can't help you, it's time to squeeze his commission. You can say that you are not happy with his service and want to deduct his commission. I mean ... he can easily find a lawyer and help you to arrange to met the lawyer and settle the letter. But he didn't do anything, what's the point of paying 1% commission?
  18. My wife would be fuming if there is nothing being done at all. At least need to touch the house "a bit" Hahaha
  19. Go for 2nd option. You should ask your agent to help you settle all the necessary also. That's the point of having an agent right?
  20. Why don't you swap your bedroom and your study room? So your study room + wardrobe + toilet in 1 room and your sleep area in 1 room.
