  1. Hmm, from this logic that you want to see a full tile from the middle of the kitchen entrance means the tiler is right. Current situation is 2 equal sq tiles, ie the grout line 'divide' the kitchen entrance. If I want to keep this 'logic', the tile in the middle of my kitchen will be the grout line of the kitchen.....
  2. I redo my kitchen and toilets but kept the existing living-dining-bedroom tiles which are the same tiles. I paid 30K COV so thought to save the living-dining-bedroom tiles as they are all the same tiles *very lau tu I know* Hubby will ask tiler to redo but he sure black face maybe he will come up with some stupid argument to say - has to align from the wall 1....how can align to grout line...blah blah blah
  3. My living room leads to the kitchen. My living room floor tile (white / square) is almost the same size as my kitchen floor tile (dark grey / square). The kitchen entrance has a low little kerb with 2 tiles equally diving the length of the entrance. If you stand at the kitchen entrance, the tiler put a full square kitchen floor tile starting from the left side of the kitchen and work his way to the right. This then in turn means the grout line between the kitchen tile not aligning to the grout line of the 2 tiles at the kicthn entrance. Is this normal ? I don't know if I am being fussy or what but because of the white-grey tile colour contrast, the mis-alignment of the line does disturb me. Pls feedback what you think abt my case. The tiler has laid 25% of the kitchen-service balcony tiles. Thanks.

  15. My aircon contractor does not allow me to place the aircon drainage pipe below the toilet floor tiles saying it is against HDB rules. My wetwork contractor says almost everyone buries it. Pls advise who is right. Appreciate if you can upload how your aircon drainage pipe looks like in your toilet. For mine, if I leave it exposed, it runs all around the toilet below it reaches the toilet floor trap

  20. i have always used samsung fridges for the past 15 years. the 1st one that i bought 15 years ago is still going strong...now being used by my mum. The 2nd and 3rd one are also samsung. no problems at all. for both, i even managed to sell it at $150 after using it for 7 years each ! i think the impt thing abt fridges is not to overload it. the cold air needs to circulate and if the fridge is too full, the fridge has to work extra hard to keep things cold. for my new place, i will be using SHARP as the price was good. 318 L at $499 at MEGA.
  21. Hi for both my toilets, I have a big recess area (ie just below the toilet window) in the shower area measuring 20cm depth, 80cm length. Of course cannot do laminated cabinets as it is the wet area. I also cannot shower area to another corner of the bathroom due to door location. What can I do to this recess area? No point doing up as shelves (using solid top material) as I dont know what to put there besides shower foam, shampoo... appreciate any idea.
  22. I also bought all my sanitary stuff from Poh Seng, next to GR Link. Initially I thought GR Link is cheap as recommended here....lucky went into Poh Seng. ALPHA S100 heater at $160 each - bought 2. 1 piece toilet bowl $188 - bought 2. Square toilet sink - $80 (managed to get free stopper $8 each from him as he reduced little in price) - bought 2 Rubine rain shower set now on promo at $195 (square head, not round). Original was $275 - bought 1 Even taps in Poh Seng is cheaper than GR Link by a few dollars. But more expensive than Chan Weng Wah (Silat Ave shop recommended by Rondy) - sigh Bought 1 kitchen POZZI tap and 1 bathroom POZZI tap as I have another bn bathroom tap from SSC. Square plain bathroom mirror (locally made) - $12...IKEA selling at $25 for abt the same size - bought 2 I also bought stainless steel floor traps (6-inch) at $11 - bought 2 Chrome pipe for bathroom sink at $26 / set - bought 2 2 sets of bidet Abt $1300 in total. delivery was punctual and workers took goods care of the goods when they opened up for me to inspect.
