  1. yup yup if you come to Jurong can drop by and take a look hahaha stupid rite~ MBR is small partly becos they didn't build it according to floor plan - oh well even if they did correctly, it's just gonna be 40cm longer in width. even the common room (currently empty) is slightly bigger than the MBR well of course, my living/dining hall is much, much bigger than my parents' oh i just made mango puree for mango cheesecake last week
  2. i spent about 3 hours in Henry's office just to choose kitchen cabinet laminates~ i think he gave up on us so just leave us alone to browse and discuss while he did his own things... hahahaha~ agree... i also dun have any cabinets above my fridge, that space is useless anyway cos in many HDB flats, half of the top kitchen cabinet is occupied by the stupid main pipe~ i specifically told Henry i didn't want cabinets above fridge... easier to clean fridge top also
  3. there is no such restriction - the entire contribution to OA can be used for paying your housing loan. OA contribution is 66.67% of the entire monthly CPF contribution if you are 35 and below. % to OA reduces as your age increases. only OA can be used for paying housing loan, SA & medisave account cannot. Hope this helps
  4. food processor can make puree... this one there is no way to chop man hahahahaha not sure about juicer though cause i never used one myself, only see at those road side juice stalls in HK i can't put the mixer on the kitchen top anyway, so the look becomes secondary and $$ becomes the priority my house like friends78 one... everything is small except living/dining hall the kitchen floor area is not so small actually, but it this very LONG and TRAPEZOIDAL (stupid design, rite). in the end can only squeeze in and L-shape kitchen 13 ft in length... haha talking about my MBR... this is my sore point my home is almost 2x the size of my parents home but the MBR is no bigger than theirs.......
  5. i'm using a Panasonic NN-GS597M, 25L with no turntable. http://www.panasonic.com.sg/wps/portal/hom...eam/nngs597mypq you can browse the website... they have many models~ i've seen many Panasonic and Sharp models displayed in Tangs, maybe you can take a look and see which one you like before you order
  6. hahahaha won't go bald so easily la how about 12/12/12.... easy to remember too
  7. why didn't get the green mixer? same reason as you... dun wanna spend so much on a mixer before i know whether i will continue to bake in future in the end i spend on a $50 mixer.... further more, even if it matches my kitchen, i have no space to show case it too........... of course i dun mind coming... for the good time and good company you can blend and mince stuff, make juice, make soya bean milk hahahah
  8. i'm using the Panasonic 3-in-1 oven - convection + microwave + steam... precisely becos i have no space on the kitchen top liao! anyway on my Panasonic oven... it's working very well and i really love it my parents are using that too (in fact, my dad is the one that recommended this oven to me) you are interested in the Sharp 3-in-1 one or something? my colleague is using and he said it's quite good.... but his is the higher end one > $1k model~
  9. hahahaha... ya lor heart pain so i bought most of the stuff after reno... cos reno and wedding expenses came at the same time, almost died wah... even plates they can deliver? so good? yea space could be an issue... i keep my mixer etc inside the cabinets, only take out when i need to use~ that time i saw the green colour mixer from kitchenaid, i thought that should match my kitchen very well... hahahaha haha maybe next time we can have some baking gathering at your place? hee~
  10. it's an easy-to-remember date lor... hahahaha so when is your wedding going to be?
  11. it's not true that once you sell your flat, you have to pay back HDB the grant. it depends on what is the 2nd house you are getting. i supposed you are a first timer that buy a resale flat near your parents , hence the $40k grant ($30k first timer grant + $10k near parents grant). in HDB's eyes, this is called the 1st subsidised flat from HDB. if you take a 2nd subsidised flat from HDB (in this case, brand new flat e.g. BTO from HDB), you have to pay back the $$. it is called the resale levy. read here, under the subtitle "Amount Payable under the Revised Resale Levy Policy". it's quite self explanatory: http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10322p.nsf/w/...vy?OpenDocument the amount pay back depends on the flat type of your 1st subsidised flat. if you don't intend to get any BTO in future, or don't think you will be eligible for new HDB anymore, then why not take the grant now
  12. congrats~ 22/2 also happens to be my hubby's birthday~ hahaha
  13. you may want to read these links, we were just talking about this last week: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38305 http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38443 a lot of pple have experienced this before, don't worry
  14. i think this mixer doesn't come cheap too... how much is it? i have some Tangs voucher that i got as wedding gift. need to use them within 1.5 yrs time~ if i didn't get my simple mixer back home, i could have used the voucher on mixer hahaha you bought a lot of stuff already la... i never bought any of these small items (e.g. plates) before the house was ready, cos i refused to move any more things when i shift house! already have more than enough things to pack..... and i scare i will break the stuff when i move (knowing how clumsy i am)... hahaha
  15. usually for the valuation to change quickly, there needs to be a lot of transactions in that area. but if like what you said, 1 year only 5 transactions, 2 weeks is unlikely to change anything... and like what therat said, what if the next valuator thinks that the valuation should be lower?
  16. hahaha then gotta ask the spouse how is his/her parents like before giving key alternative: change to digital lock or something hi-tech so the problematic ILs will give up well... just joking~ exactly my thought: i'd love my parents to come anytime they like, my home is their home too. but as i point out earlier, some pple may face different problems with their parents/ILs....
  17. my hubby outfit also from bridal shop mah... when i changed he also changed, where got unfair actually i dun need the dryer to make the clothes 100% dry, if it can speed up the clothes drying time significantly, will be good enough for me.
  18. then this boils down to an individual character problem liao... in this case the IL shows no respect to other people's privacy at all. it's no longer a question on whether it's appropriate to give parents the keys or not~
  19. hahahaha can start getting both of them to draw lots for anything, e.g. world cup, premiere league.... then can see who is more accurate
  20. i gave my parents a spare set of keys - they are my parents leh, they have every right to come to my house as and when they want to~ i dun find it inappropriate at all~ also quite good la... my mom can buy things for me and leave them at my home when we are out for work but really... even if you don't like it... if small matter like this is going to cause arguement between you and your mom, might as well just give them the keys~
  21. i think i have explained it in steelze's and my own t-blogs... it's true that painters do purchase paint in large amount and pour them into matex paint cans cos they have a lot of these matex empty cans so the paint in the matex cans could really be the correct one. but i think the problem with idealistic's painter is that he is not consistent in his explanation... which shows that something is wrong
  22. wah still buy clothes for photo shoot huh... my hubby only bought one white shirt from photo shoot till wedding... hahaha hey bro, can share what's their explanation? i'm interested to find out more about 2-in-1... thanks
  23. i'll cast my vote (and add to your confusion) hahaha... i also like the big bulb! but yea lor i think it's easier to make decision if we know how the dining set and the surrounding looks like haha ;P
