  1. BunBun thanks for your explanation as usual... you're our resident baking consultant oh i see... so far those recipe i looked at didn't say anything about water bath... or they assume that you will use one anyway? hahaha i dunno leh~
  2. i guess my wok should be similar type as yours... though mine is only a cheapo $8.5 one from ikea
  3. oh i see.... my last attempt on cheesecake was without a water bath cos the recipes never mentioned about it.... just get to read about water bath yesterday maybe i'm not fuzzy about food so i don't notice any problem in taste/texture of the cake at all.... hahahaha
  4. hahahaha cannot la... what if he takes revenge and does the same on me? i'll die of coldness during shower~ hahahaha~
  5. you can come to my home to test water hahahaha i'm using the Taiyo induction cooker i'm using wok also, it looks just like chinese wok but the bottom has a small part that is flattened so that the wok can stand on the induction hob. i've seen induction hob that has a depression so a round-bottom Chinese wok can sit in it...
  6. like your wife, i'm more of a bus person, cos found that many places in SG can be reached much faster by changing a few buses than taking one big round on MRT but nowadays roads are getting more congested... argh. 502 is great, but the schedule is really BAD. i dun understand why can't they increase the frequency since so many pple are taking this bus! if take MRT to Orchard, not only need to walk to MRT station, also need to change train at City Hall leh... troublesome
  7. i usually use cif for cleaning taps, works very well for me i also got the melamine wipe from Daiso, but yet to test it
  8. for my own reno, plastering is done first, electrical trunking later. then just before painting, they do some touch up with plaster between the trunking and the wall.
  9. wah so sweet.... i wish my hubby can remember 20 yrs down the road too~
  10. yea, i noticed that springform pans come in bigger sizes, so i got a small removable bottom one... else can never finish the cake niah~ oh but if i dun bake with water bath, still better to wrap?
  11. haha you drive so you will seldom take note on the buses available rite... one funny thing about 502 is... when it goes pass Clementi, it's non-stop route all the way to Orchard, but there will almost always be ppl who press the alarm and insisting to get off at Clementi (of course, the driver won't let them alight)............. *roll eye*
  12. actually i think your current arrangement with 4 switches is okie leh, my previous place also 4 switches for just one living room. better to plan for more switches now than not be able to switch off when you want to, rite?
  13. i think if you wanna change in future, you just have to find a hob with dimension that can fit into the existing "hole" in your solid top. may limit the choice of model but at least you dun need to change the whole solid top why wanna change the hob leh?
  14. hahaha this was just last year, so very recent only... not becos he was much younger. he said he can feel the difference, quite significant wor.
  15. hahahaha.... btw, must i use a springform pan for cheesecake? i only have one that the bottom can take out one, but not the sides... hmmmm you get what i mean?
  16. both 502 and 333 alight directly opposite IMM. just cross the overhead bridge and you're there 502 is more expensive (i think $1+ or something), but many ppl just don't want to wait... hahaha from my place, it's 6 stops away to IMM for 502. 333 will take slightly longer cos it has to go to Jurong Pri School side first then loop back. but if you take from the bus stop opp Parc Oasis (one stop after mine), then both 502 and 333 are the same (5 stops). but your mom stays around Block 502 area? how about bus 99? need to walk a little from Blk 203 side to Toh Guan area though.
  17. welcome and congrats! hahahaha i know how you feel, cos when i had my wedding 6 months back, my friends (not only girl frens, even guys too) couldn't understand why we can't bother with all those wedding stuff... hahaha just felt that wedding only gonna last for a day but you'll have to stay in your house for years, so gotta pay more attention to the house
  18. hahahaha... i also read on RT before that someone living 2 floors below were complaining, even though the neighbour immediately below has no problem! so in the end, was that upstairs neighbour successful in getting you to "repair" for them?
  19. hahahaha... my hubby said he really felt that he was healthier during the period when he bathed with cold water. but after one particularly chilly december, he couldn't tahan anymore and started boiling water with kettle... after that, can't go back to bathe with cold water anymore yup. my hair stylist also said this before... but he said use luke warm water cos cold water is not effective to wash off oil.
  20. hahahahahaha my hubby's previous rented place has no hot water at all... the landlady, 60++ yrs old liao, still bathing with cold water daily!
  21. of course... the shuttle bus existed before pple started to walk from MRT but not only the frequency is terrible, the trip itself is long cos the bus make one big round before getting to the destination. i took once and never take again... walking is so much faster oh usually i go IMM after work, not from home, so i will be at JE interchange... now the fastest way is to take 333/105/52 from interchange, but still not as convenient as walking~ from my home, got 2 straight buses: 333 and 502. no need to take 334 and change
  22. oh i mean i dun understand what does it mean by no grilles at main gate... sorry
  23. actually in hk, most pple have it in the toilets, we don't have the luxury of space to have service yard hahaha... so long as you keep windows a little open, it's good enough. 20 yrs ago, they always talk about this danger. nowadays design and safety features have improved a lot. dun put at a place that is too windy i heard, else the flame gets blown off
  24. now that the walking path from JE MRT to IMM is blocked, i think i will go IMM less often......... sigh
  25. wah since 1986!! where's your hairdresser? ya lor so cheap already still got package deal... impressed! oh is there an organic food stall? maybe it's too crowded there... never noticed~ only know there are many handphone "ah beng" shops there. sold my previous 2 phones there~
