still not feeling well huh... can get MC to rest at home? haha mine is the other way round... asked my contractor to lower the counter top by 3 inches and cabinet by 2-in cos i m short btw, gimz63251073 has posted some prices on blum's stuff b4, not sure if it's useful for you... you can take a look http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...st&p=518269

i think they are using the main "kidney" piece without the rotating piece, and the 2nd piece is the ottoman. anyway, that's if we assume it's a calypso... it could be just another curvy red sofa
-
it's $220... not $120 you can try to e-mail them to appeal, give some very valid reasons about why the previous owner never install.... so far, some managed to get it waived but some cannot... just try your luck ya
-
*pat pat* hope they will be willing to do for you foc... cos the free opennet installation is not compulsory and it's an opt-in system, if the previous owner doesn't find any use for it, they have all the right not to install... some friends i know (well, including myself) are hit by this and will gotta pay to get it done my previous owner didn't even know about the opennet thingie... my hubby's landlord too, they are not tech-savvy pple, so they just ignore the invitation letter cos they dun understand it... from what i understand, when they said "fibre ready" on the opennet website, means the free installation period for that block is already over...
-
wah... you're really Edmund's online spokeperson...
-
hahaha samgalz this is a good excuse... i like... though i'm not a shoe/bag gal, i'm a ear-ring gal... luckily earrings are small and easy to store
-
wow long time no see... how's your reno coming along? if your unit is already installed with Opennet, there should be a termination box in your home... white colour one i think. opennet website has a photo of how the box looks like...
-
wah thanks for all the comments... haha me and hubby combine only got 11 pairs of shoes, so no need big shoe cabinet... but so far from what i've seen, seems like those cabinets i like are on the bigger side... this was our initial idea, but we sort of gave up cos can't find any shoes cabinets that look nice at the back, and we are not keen to custom-make one then after putting in the Calypso... looks kinda weird to have the shoe cabinet as "screen" anyway, we dun have neighbours, so privacy is not an issue like that the cabinet has to be at location (B) rite? we like this idea too but haven't seen any cabinets with cushion seats that we like... you guys came across any that looks good? LOL Simon, i'm neither a shoe nor bag gal....

hmmmm not sure if that's Fanco Aroma... just checked the receipt, it's model number is FF707... same as yours? I got it for $295, dunno if it's expensive or not? i didn't compare price last time... haha pulling out the chair to wear shoes is good... i didn't think of that at all LOL initially i was thinking of that too, but i won't be sitting there 95% of the time... my guest will eat besides my shoes maybe

Aiyo that was bad... tsk tsk... but glad that at least they exchanged another one for you in the end, hope this time won't rust ba

erm... paiseh, before i go on with more photos, got one question to ask you all... we still need to get a shoe cabinet, but till now still cannot decide where to put it... we have two locations in mind: (A) on right hand side of the main door, just below the light switches and next to the dining table. (B) on the left of the main door, just below the windows and behind the sofa... at where the tv box is right now... sorry... the house still very messy as you can see in the photo while location (B) has more space for the cabinet, it seems a bit odd to have the shoe cabinet there... like got one cabinet in the middle of nowhere... (A) seems to be a better location, but it's smaller and i'm not sure if it would make the dining table looks cramped... comments are greatly welcome... thanks in advance huh

Now that my reno is completed, i guess i will talk about the transformation room-by-room, rather than in chronological order I shall start with... hmmm living room and study room refering to the original floor plan here, you can see that this Bedroom 3 (which is the study room) has a really weird door location - very "secretive" - suitable for agents like us but not good for home safety aspect cos no one in the house can see what is going on in this room... what if i fainted in the room?? nobody will know lor... so... see our plan here... we decided to hack the wall between study room and living room for the following reasons - 1) Improve air circulation - after hacking this wall, there is cross ventilation between the living and study room windows - more windy and cooling 2) The whole house will look bigger and more airy once this wall is gone 3) Better "visibility" to the study room - we are replacing the wall with sliding glass door i'm now assured that i won't be left unnoticed if i really fainted there... hee hee Here are some in-progress pics... Top row - before hacking, Bottom row - after hacking: Original door entrance was sealed up... plastering in progress:

Aiyo... now I can feel the stress of hcbing when we pressed him to post photos... LOL Okie... maybe I should try to post some of the in-progress photos that i have already uploaded

We got all our toilet and kitchen stuff from Royal Franco too... Yup the lady boss is his wife (i think the name is Lena... or something like that), nice couple and good service from them My toilet also got a lot of ugly pipes that we don't even know how to box up. Spent many sleepless night thinking about solutions... In the end, we were so fed up that we just simply painted the pipes -
LOL... did your wife scream at you about cleaning of the house? btw, wondering which kitchen tiles are you using... not sure if it's same as mine. i had a hard time cleaning the kitchen floor now.... a bit regretted on accepting my hubby's choice of tiles~

wah... so kua zhang but won't the ventilation becomes very bad? kitchen leh... haha... my hubby initially insisted on a System 4, after he thinks about how the trunking will run, he dropped the idea and went for System 3
