My contractor charged me $500 to supply and install my 24 feet tempered black glass backsplash.

You have nothing on the back of your backsplash? If you have a wall backing then it depends on the colour of your wall if you are using transparent glass. If you have white wall backing then the glass will appear greenish. I did a black glass backsplash.

You are right! My contractor said the same too. He didn't seal the edges of my tempered glass hob and his reasons were exactly what you said .....

I have 12 ft of black tempered glass backsplash and never regretted it. It's easy to clean and I cook almost everyday. It also makes my kitchen look sleek. My kitchen walls are cement screeded.

Cement screeding are porous unless you have a coating over it to block the absorption of moisture otherwise you will experience damp walls and water proofing for floors have to be done with caution. This is one of the reasons why I did not cement screed my toilets but I cement screed my entire kitchen walls. Turned out beautiful and am infact super duper pleased. Anyway just my thoughts on cement screeding toilets! Do consider carefully ....

You can try Cavi-Jet. Their menu is special and different from the usual stereo type. They are part of the Brazil Charussco group in 6th Avenue.

I opt for this as I would be saving something like $800. Do you face any problems with the walls? Does it absorb the kitchen fumes? Does it attract cockroaches or lizards? Does it look boring?

Due to budget constrain and also I like the raw feel therefore I am Cement Screeding my Kitchen walls. Anybody here has done so? Would greatly appreciate anyone who would share their experiences or views. Thanks ..

I was at the Expo on the last day and actually placed a deposit for it. It is indeed a very impressive product. It heats up extremerly fast. I was actually taken in by the demonstration. I havent taken delivery of the unit till my place is done up so can't really comment much. I sure hope I made a good decision.
