There is speculation that devastating global disaster will occur about the date of winter solstice on 21/12/2012. This theory is publicized in the Hollywood movie 2012 and caused more alarms. In this movie John Cusack met a man in the Yellow Stone Park and this man claimed such doomsday prediction was found in the Bible, in the Mayan calendar, and in the I Ching. The relationship between the I Ching and 2012 is publicized in a book called The Invisible Landscape: Mind, Hallucinogens and the I Ching and is written by Terence McKenna who died in 2000. In his book he was inspired by the 64 hexagram arrangements in King Wen’s I Ching (Book of Change). In the I Ching King Wen has a special sequence in arranging the order of the 64 Hexagrams; putting them in the order with Heaven (The Creative) and Earth (the Receptive) as first and second Hexagrams. After going through the 64 Hexagrams which are arranged in 32 pairs it ends with the final pairs of Water on Fire (After Completion) and Fire on Water (Before Completion). This sequence is taken to represent different stages of development of the world from the beginning with Heaven and Earth to the end with Fire on Water. Inspired by this sequence McKenna assigned mathematical value to each of the 384 lines (jao) of the 64 Hexagrams and he came up with a curve which he claimed reflected the timing of important world events. Every peak and bottom point of the curve seems to coincide with an important stage in human civilization and he called this a Time Wave Theory. Indeed it seems that if we translate the 384 lines of King Wen’s 64 Hexagrams into time, according to this theory, we will find the time interval between big events on earth. His most significant point is that if we put the end date of the curve at 21/12/2012 then all the peak and bottom points of his curve match with significant events in human history. Hence he considers the date 21/12/2012 to be the ending day when the curve reaches the bottom. As such the I Ching itself actually did not predict the world will end in 2012. At best one can only say it provided inspiration for McKenna to invent his Time Wave Theory. The original meaning of the last two Hexagrams; After Completion and Before Completion; do not imply the end of the world. To the contrary it implies there is no ending, as the change is not yet completed. It is like many cyclical changes in nature as when one year’s four seasons finishes, another new years four seasons begins. So therefore this theory is inaccurate and it is certainly not fair to say that the 2012 doomsday is predicted in the I Ching. Is there anything in the I Ching that can be associated with such end of the world ideas? I think the most relevant could be the ‘Supreme World Order Principles’ invented by Shao Yong of the Sung Dynasty. Shao Yong also divided World Ages into 64 stages according to the King Wen sequence of 64 Hexagrams, but the number of years he assigned to each stage is very long. According to his system our current time is only in the 8th Hexagram, Water on Earth (Holding Together), which altogether lasts 129,600 years. Currently we are only in middle of this stage, with another 60,000 years before we finish this 8th Hexagram of Human civilization. So 2012 is definitely not even near the end of the world. However the winter solstice date of 21/12/2012 is a day with a strong presence of powerful water elements. Date – 21/12/2012 Hour – 1913 Hour Day Month Year 戊 丙 壬 壬 Earth Fire Water Water 戌 辰 子 辰 Earth Earth Water Water The combination of elements on this day shows powerful water as well as Dragon and Dog clash and it will not be surprising if earthquake and flooding occur. However there is absolutely no indication that this day will be the end of the world. In 2012 the Feng shui flying star number 6 is in the centre and symbolizes the metal element which relates to the breathing organ, the father, heaven and the law. This centre number also often reflects the focus of prevailing events for the year, so it will not be surprising if the 6 in the centre brings about more epidemics in 2012 such as flu and viruses affecting the brain and breathing organs. 6 also relates to the law, the government and the father figure. It is a year of elections and as such will certainly bring about changes in many governments throughout the world. Unquote"

I have read many people's BaZi and House charts which reflect this. Remember I posted somewhere in this forum about my friend in Batu Bahat where she had to move out in year 2011 when Xin Mao arrived which will clash with her chart. House chart: Her old house has door opening where sickness star resided in 2011, which will aggravate her medical condition (liver problem). Worst still, she sleeps in room with Star 5. BaZi chart: There is Mao & Mao, self-punishment. The Xin metal will further weaken her wood elements! With all these unfavourable conditions, she decided to move house. So, at the beginning of 2011, she found a new place with SE door facing (where star 6 resides in 2011), which is considered a favourable sector in 2011, based on floor plan with reading taken at the entrance of house (she didn't step into the house as seller was unavailable then.) Guess what happened?? The reading at the main door determines otherwise; it is EAST sector where star 5 reside in 2011!! She only discovered it when she fell ill and had a stroke!! Even on the day when she moved into the house, her mother slipped and fell!! She then re-measured the reading of her house and discovered this wrong reading influenced by strong metals grilles of the windows and main door!! Is this Fate?

For the all-white kitchen, I can say that maintaining is a breeze!! You hardly see stains on the surface, and very easy to wipe with mild solution and warm water without worrying the chemical will cause the color of laminate to fade!! Hi, LMX Thank you for popping by! We were awed by the observations during our 3 days intensive practical lessons - 2 at landed properties and one is my 5-room HDB flat! It was amazing to see how objects "talked" and Seeing is believing!!! I can now walk around any apartment / house and can 'see' what happened to the dwellers for the past years, their personality and how's luck will be!! All these are done without stepping into the house, without the need to ask for Date of birth!!!! I have completed the Yi-Jing foundation, now waiting for Mod 1 & Mod 2 Divination which will be conducted in Jan/Feb 2012. I will also be attending the Yi_jing course conducted at Sing Poly by Singapore Feng Shui Centre. I was told both have their own methods of teaching. Definitely worth recommending this Yi-Jing method for feng shui audit!!! Ofcourse, Teacher YouYi Huang has his own way of teaching and it is easy to understand and apply it.

Hello, brothers and sisters Time flies! 2011 is coming to an end and my renovation is also coming to its end of workmanship warranty period. No major issue till this moment, except the plaster and painter came back recently to replaster and repainting the walls due to my busy schedule as well. My Teacher and classmates came last Saturday to audit my house using the Yi Jing Time Space Feng Shui method as part of our practical lessons, and it was amazing to see how 'objects speak' without 'flying stars' and other forumlas!!! Let’s not focus on the Mayan calendar for now (because they probably ran out of stone and that’s all!) but on the Chinese calendar. 2010 and 2011 were both symbolised by the clash of Metal and Wood; Metal representing law, order, the establishment, government, weapons and control in general; while Wood represents the growing forces of contestation that clash with Metal and usually young people. The writer said we can expect to see more upraise, populations in revolt, strikes… and 2011 has been pretty much this all year long! The most significant movement has of course being the “occupy” movement, a fantastic force of leverage that is arising around the world and that seems very similar to the movement from the late 60’s- but with more despair and less innocence due to the extreme conditions the capitalistic system now imposes on many people. 2012 is unlikely to see the end of this upraise, quite the contrary. 2012 is the year of the Water Dragon. As the water is weakening the Metal it is likely that the global economy will experience a meltdown as well – a crash is most likely happening in 2012. Both these factors combined will make for a troubled and challenging year that is likely to have consequences for years to come. The Chinese calendar goes into recurring cycles. 60 years ago the previous Water Dragon year saw the first foundations of the European community; I suspect next year will see a major change in the EU – with maybe some countries leaving it as far as the currency is concerned. In term of natural disasters we can expect some drastic one as well in 2012. First, Dragon years are always symbol of earthquakes as the earth is very active; but with all this water coming it is also a symbol of flooding, landslides and potentially tsunamis. Another symbol of the Water Chi heavily mixing with the Earth Chi is usually illnesses and epidemics. This means probably another epidemic at a global scale – comparable to the swine flu or SARS. So let’s now focus on the more positive aspects of the year. Water is a symbol of intelligence in the study of the five elements. During this troubled year it is therefore likely that we will see smart people raising who think out of the box and offer new solutions to the global crisis we will be facing. Hopefully that will be the case for the US president (2012 is a year of election for the US.) Moreover I suspect many major breakthroughs in technology and especially with transport – as water relates to transport. It is actually a year during which the travel industry and the hospitality industry should perform well – they are supported by the water element. It will be more challenging however for IT industry – Fire is controlled by the Water – and I expect a major bug or mishap from a big software company (think Microsoft or Apple) that usually relies on the Fire Element a lot. The medical innovations should relate to the water organs (kidney, sexual organs and bladder) or to the Fire organs that are controlled by the Water coming in (heart surgery, eyes). Earth brought by the Dragon is good to the real estate industry; and as Water is the Element that Earth controls it is called its “wealth”. This means there is money to be made in real estate and property development next year – that will probably look like a safe haven with the financial crisis. This combination of Earth and Water should also do some good to the agriculture and environment – I suspect environmental groups will be heard in 2012. An obvious matter heavily discussed in 2012 will be the Tar Sands – with the symbol of a liquid (oil) contained into the Earth, it is a perfect illustration of the Chi of 2012. These blocks in Boon Lay (built in 1976) are much older than the flats in Pandan Gardens (built in 1979) But I like the older flats built by JTC, in terms of floor layout (toilets are located in the back or hidden in a corner, unlike newer flats with toilets in the centre of house!!).

Sis Adi You are correct! In feng shui, we do not like the toilets and kitchen to be located in the centre of the house. Further, it is also no good to have toilets in the South sector of the house, and kitchen in North West sector of the house. As this is not the feng shui forum, I won't comment further on the logic behind this theory. You can ask in my own t-blog.

In 2012, it is the year of Ren Chen (Water Dragon, i.e. Water Over Earth element). Those who learn BaZi will know the 'Dragon' earth is 'unreliable' as it could change its form (it has hidden stems and Dragon is a Water pot!). So, the 'worst' months in 2012 is July and August, where it is Lunar 6th month, with Five Yellow in the North sector, so like Raymond Lo said, it is 'Two across five" taking place in the months of Jul and Aug. Watch out for these 2 months in 2012.
