  1. More DIY ## I repainted the old bathtub after me & WTB scrapped/peeled away the old coat of paint. Also plastered all the holes with putty. FIL changed the piping and tap for us. ## Future FIL installed towel-bars (x3), toilet roll holders (x2) and curtain rods (for living hall & MBR) We bought slightly more exp ones for better stainless steel quality
  2. Nice plant area over there~ Juz wanna kpo, how much did you spend on the set-up?
  3. Glad everything is turning out well for you in ur new environment!! Good location, great views.. Fantastic!
  4. Quick Quick, go get! There are a few diff colors to choose from.
  5. yah.. If they are already not being responsive or 'on-the-ball' even before the deal is clinched.. can't imagine how would it be like to call them back for rectification works after reno started.
  6. Wah... Simmons.. My WTB's dream item to have. LOL
  7. Reno progress looking good my fren. The truncking for the optic-fibre wire is slimmer than normal electrical wires trunkings. May not turn out as bad as u tink.
  8. Hey IPineapple, Thks for the compliment! We got it from Chin Heng Furniture @ Sungei Kadut. Costs $89 each. A few other shops near Chin Heng are also selling the same chairs but slightly more exp.
  9. Hi west, I got it from Furnitures & Furnishing @ Suntec (level 2).
  10. heya, 'scares' as below. 1) During installation, electrician claimed some part is loose and do not recommend hanging it for safety reasons.. He finally managed to secure it fimrly after trying for some time. 2) After the electrician left, one of the lamps failed to light up (when previously everything was fine). Fortunatly it turned out that it was becos the bulb fused. Becos this chandelier was the supposedly the 'one & only working lamp' among the whole batch of defective lamps.. we tend to get quite worried when encountering the hiccups..
  11. Yoz. Glad that we all share the same taste!! We got it from Star Living for $199. It's called 'Maze' - and the white one can actually stack over the black one (which is smaller). Good luck!
  12. Store-room Shelving Done up by my future FIL. So sturdy u can sleep on it.
  13. Woo.. I see that you like RED alot. And I like your dining area very much - the red lamp goes perfectly well with the red dining chairs
  14. Chandelier & Clock Up Got x2 minor scares on the installation of the Chandelier.. but glad everything turned out fine in the end!
  15. Hiya rayfox, I agree with you too. but we're working on a limited budget, so just have to make-do
  16. @ tuasbird: thks man @ Nellynut : icic.. Congrats. We'll be looking fwd to ur t-blog then!
  17. ## Initially I was complating whether to forsake 1 bedside table for a chest of drawers instead, so to create more storage space. In the end, we decided to go for 2 to make the place look more 'balanced' ## Add a wall mural above the headboard and our MBR will be completed! Thinking of a Santorini pic for our wall mural ..
  18. ## We narrowed our search of wardrobes to those with height almost that of the ceiling. Not doing built-in as we want the flexibility and it saves us half the amt of $ too ## But quite likely the 1.6m long wardrobe won't be enough storage space for us.. We intend to put some of our clothing in another wardrobe (in the guest-room) which I'll be shifting over from my parents' place. ## Storage bed.. I like..
  19. Here is my 2c worth #1 - Becos the seated person is back-facing the windows, during daytime there will be shadow cast on the table-top (which is bad for reading, unless you on desk-lights) #2 - During daytime, the person seated at the table may feel the heat from the windows. The sunlight glare would be uncomfortable on the eyes too. #3 - makes the room quite cramped #4 - the 2 person will be 'fighting'for space? For me, I would take option #1 but swap the bookcase with the 2 tables. Option #4 seems fine too.. Let us know your final layout, k!
  20. Thanks for the compliment, tuasbird !! yea, on hindsight the Lily white walls do give a sense of relaxing effect, compared to whites of cooler tones.. Lighting plays a big part too on how the wall colors will turn-out to the eyes. Now, I'm quite used to the Lily white wall colors already will try to post more pics! my reno process is coming to the ending stage.
  21. After combining the 2 toilets together, it sure looks big! Considered putting a ?
  22. For the study room, it is under Nippon paint Easywash series - Charming 8136 But that is actually a light shade of green, not blue The blue wall (MBR/Guest room) is Harmony 8112
  23. Elect. Applicances In! ## It is interesting to note that prior to reno, ex-owner did not have any elect. socket installed at that wall. Wonder how he connects his washing machine to electricity back then.. ## Our 4-tick energy saving fridge ## yea.. TV & Sound System are up!!
