  1. Hi, It is actually polyken. It is the internal finishing. I actually got to know while going to carpenter work. He explains that if those cheap-cheap cabinet usually they make use of just white pvc to cover the wood. After a few yrs, u can see the wood was just covered with a white sticker or call pvc. Just open up a kitchen cabinet, try to feel it surface. If it is rough wif air bubbles, then the cabinet is using pvc. Usually factory price, from top to bot cabinet, per sq ft is $150. But it is polyken, then the cost is $170. We actually got to touch the polyken & pvc surface during tat trip. Tat's when we knew the diff. Just ask ur ID to show u, but just beware of the cost..

  3. I think by hook, the ex owner move out from the house. Or you want to may want to rent only 1 room to them. Cos you are already the home owner after the 2nd appt. Anything happen the home owner kena, example illegal harbouring, houseburn.. etc. Anyway, you are supposed to inspect the house, then signed the confirmation on the 2nd appt date. I advise you sometimes in situation like tis, we have to be a bit selfish.
  4. Thank you all for advice. But in the end, I feel much worse than before. Anyway, too much stress for me to cope till not been having sleep since tat day. 1. House reno not completed, ID left company. 2. Buyer pushing to stay in. 3. TTC since 2004. 4. Work stress Not to get any sympathy, but I doubt anyone cares. Yesterday, received a phonecall from the buyers' agent. Begging & apologising profusely to let the buyer stay in the house. He has not way out to help them other than get my help. Their rental place has been rented out to another ppl. So they have to move out by 14 June. So the agent wants us to rent one room for the couple to stay in. He say he can't find another renthouse. So I should be compassionate rite? So, now my house will be filled with 2 more person. Wah, from 6 person in a 4rm flat to 8 person. Just fyi.. no need to reply...
  5. Nop, there's no black & white saying tat we must move out by 8 Jun. So we are safe there... yup, that's why I feel bad.. like my agent say karma.. wat's goes around, come around.. actually before yesterday or even after we knew the 1st appt date, I ask my agent a few times(every meetup) when is the latest we can vacant the house. He told us it will be July. Then only yesterday, he back out, saying we already say to buyer. Anyway, I'm consoling myself cos it is everytime I give in to ppl, & always kenna bully. So now I know tat I'm rite so I still proceed with the righteous law. yup, tat's wat happen to us when we bought this house(we are the 2nd owner), we ask if we can move in earlier, they say we have to pay rent even if we use one room. In the end, we live in this house with such bad state. Reno done while we are still staying in this house.
  6. gd for them, not for us. Nd to rush packing & moving, then go into a house that not ready... *sigh* Hdb say if there's anything wrong with the house, e.g. *touchwood* the buyer harbour illegal immigrants, then we kenna.. cos we are the house owner still as long before 2nd appt. *sigh*...
  7. good article... anyway, hubby knew how much I earn. So now he always work hard to overcome mine. Though, I told him it is ok that I earn more. But somehow, since we gotten married, it is always me shortage of $$.. He can give me, my parents & his parents allowances & yet he has savings somemore.. hehe me..always end of the month, drowing.. hehe..

  9. I think it is the one built together with the solid surface top. For us, we bought $168 SIMS sink. Then ID told us that some sink can cause condensation. So if you leave a frozen fish, there'll be water droplets underneath the sink & will drop onto the cabinets. After sometime, your cabinet will get mouldy.. Haiz.. ID told us after we bought the Sims sink. But we hope that the sink is good enuf..
  10. oh no no.. , they didn't just say casually.. actually both agents take note of the date. Aiyah, I got no time to pack & house not ridy... ID say he can only proceed after 9 Jun .. tis one due to our long decision-making... haizz...*sigh* nolah can't cos there's alridy 6 adults in my 4rm flat.. I wish I'm stronger & the type, but I'm not. Follow parents' traits.. so always kena bully. Yeah, i thot my agent back me up but instd he say it is due to morality. He say karma. What's goes around, come around.. that's why la.. But at the same time, he say it is again up to me.. haizzz..
  11. I told them, but they kept insisting that we have agreed to them. That's why they sign the option. How? how?
  12. Yesterday, my parents & I had our 1st resale appt with HDB. Our 2nd appt will be 20 Jul 2007. During the earlier negotation, b4 buyer sign the option to purchase, they ask us if we can vacant the flat by 8 Jun 2007. That was in mid Apr 2007, my reno was just started & we did not know the date of the 1st appt. So we agreed, but there no written agreement. Just a small note by agents. So when we got to know that the 1st appt was 29 May 2007, we happily didn't do any packing cos we presume that they can only enter after 2nd appt(the completion resale date). Skali yesterday, buyer query us when can we move out. When we told them by 20 June, they were , told us that we shld hold our promise. Even my agent told us that. I told them that we need sometime to pack, and also my new flat is still under reno. They said they agreed to buy our home cos we promise them. They have already made agreement to move out from their rent flat & goods to be delivered. They want to be in the house before the wife give birth, she is 8 months preggy. My parents being the older generation, pity & agreed to them. I was very angry. Here I tried to compromise, there they are pushing me. I can't sleep yesterday due to this. I'm scared that if I'm stubborn, then they will cancel the sales & we have to pay extra. But I check with my agent, he say we got no implication. Only it is the value of morale. I read at the t&c of resale, it quote that we can "The buyer shall not obtain possession of the resale prior to the completion of resale." So should I be the good or bad person here? Should I hold my promise or should I follow the policy?
  13. Hi karen77sg, U'r not alone. My hubby oso work till late at nite sometimes. Till date, I still wait in the office for him until he fetch me. kolig ask why wait, can go home 1st. I say never mind. Cos everytime, we communicate during the journey home. By the time, we reach home, hubby already prepare to sleep zzz.. Even if sometimes, I go home first, I will sure be stuck to the tv or internet or housework.. hehe.. So doesn't feel the loneliness. karen, yup relax urself & be as comfy as possible. Gd idea to enrol urself in the cooking class.. Yeah.. next tm can cook for us forummers.. hehe I also believe in the 80-20 trust method, cos u will never know. And most important, I believe in wat goes around, come around. So if hubby not faithful now (*touchwood*), next time he sure kenna one.. of cos I won't the one unfaithful.
