  1. u mean she is currently at IMM?
  2. anyone knows the currnet locations of the push cart selling country-style accessories?
  3. thanks babe, so far i've gotten my hooks and knobs from this hardware shop at balestier but didn't see any that are designed like yours! my wardrobe and book case has the same porcelain flower knobs that you have on your sewing cupboard, which i got at the balestier shop.
  4. hi, love the vintage brass knobs you have there on your doors, did your ID provide them for you or did you purchase them yourself? i got my furniture made-to-measure in plain white, no trimmings, now abit regret and looking for decorative knows to jazz them up abit, love your display case!
  5. Hi all, am renovating my room and today Ah Heng from Panerai Decor came to my house to do measurement. Will know his costs once I receive the quote. Anyone here used his firm before? I need to replace my ceiling board, paint my room, seal half a window and most importantly, need a good carpenter to custom make my 9-ft wardrobe and 9-ft bookcase in country style furniture (white solid wood) and a 4-inch glass display case. Appreciate any advice, thanks.
  6. anyone used Classic Kitchen at tanjong katong for their sliding door wardrobe, how's the quality and workmanship? went today and was quoted $330 psf. kinda tempted but need to look around. worried about dust easily collecting in the wardrobe cos i felt the top and bottom shelves were very dirty (wipes my finger on it)
  7. is it true that if i have a high ceiling, then i shouldn't install the system wardrobe? went down to classic kitchen today to look at their wardrobes, was told by the designer that i shouldn't do a pole system cos it needs the ceiling above to stabalise the wardrobe, not sure how true it is. thinking of letting classic kitchen do my sliding door wardrobe, was quote $330 psf
  8. Hi Coldflames, how much did you pay for your wardrobe and who did it for you? i am also looking for a pole-system WIW, so need some reccomendations
  9. Hi all, i'm renovating my bedroom and need to look for a contractor/carpenter basically my house is undergoing renovation now, but my current contractor is not willing to touch my room after he heard that i took pictures of my sis's bedroom set (horrible workmanship). this same carpenter is doing my mum's bedroom furniture, my kitchen cabinets and house bookcases. of course seeing the quality/workmanship, i'm not keen for him to do my room either. my contractor's Indian worker who painted my sis's room dared to lock the room door (we believe he was sleeping halfway) and its not even painted properly, supposedly scrapped the old paint off but there are bits stuck here and there from the old wall. Anyway what i need to do: 1) Existing side sliding window, to seal half the space and install a push out window 2) Scrap and repaint my room (approx 19 s m) with high ceiling, 2 sides of the wall painted a different colour 3) Move existing air-conditioner to another location (so that i can put in a new WIW) 4) Remove all existing built in furniture (wardrobe, bed and wall-to-wall table) 5) Build a WIW 6) Build a glass case (to display accessories) 7) Build a small bookcase (maybe a foot long) Appreciate if you could advise on estimated costs, and would $5k be sufficient? I don't need a bed cos my mum already ordered it for me. I am actually looking at those type of WIW from Closet Design, but what I actually want are those Victorian style wooden grain painted white as my wardrobe, if budget permits. I've called a few IDs but not sure if they are willing to only do one bedroom, and if costs will be higher since its minor work.
  10. Went back to HN tonight and decided not to get the Electrolux oven, the oven door feels rather flimsy to me, especially when you remove the plastic cover and the 3 panels can be moved. Since I want to get a pyro oven, have settled on the Brandt fp867xs1. It comes with the top+bottom heating with fan that i need for baking. Mother rushing me to decide since we need to do the kitchen shelves, and the brandt seems rather popular. Those who've bought it recently, do let me know of any good prices. HN had it at $1899 which i believe is the usual retail price.
  11. my house is undergoing reno and i'm getting a built in oven. went to HN at Millennia Walk today and the SA rec me Electrolux EOC3500X, special price of $1299 (usual $1599) its a 52 litre oven, pryro, 3 layer glass door, with both top and bottom heating elements with fan, and digital display. apparently made in Germany. Anyone using this model? It's 15A so I won't need to worry about power tripping since the Bosch HBA43B450A i was looking at is a 16A. i'm tempted to get it since for this price range, i won't be able to get a pyro oven from Bosch or Brandt, only one with a catalytic cleaning function. My mother insists on a self-cleaning function, and i find catalytic plates rather useless since it's only 1-2plates. i'm an occasional baker, my main concern is even heating and oven heating up fast (previously using a Rowenta oven with the self-cleaning rough interiors). my mum would be the one doing most of the grilling. Otherwise, anyone have brands/models to rec within this price range?
