  2. your grills and switches are awesome!!!
  3. Interest rates for the construction loan will be high - it will be like any other term loan. However after TOP, there is possibility to re-finance and include the construction loan $$ as part of the mortgage. Best to check with your banker.
  4. Wow, looks like things are moving along very well for you. When's the targeted move in date?
  5. Wow. That is super fast!! Congrats. Looking forward to the pictures.
  6. Agree - be careful of Gmarket Eames chair - i was at a friend's house gathering and a big sized friend (~90kgs) sat on the chair and the legs gave way!! the chair didn't break but the legs got more slanted and bent
  7. I used Hong Tat Electrical. Not sure if that's the one you are referring to for aircon. So far ok, because the installation is still in progress and not completed yet. They were recommended by my ID - quite prompt and did a site survey, asked for floorplans before coming up with the calculations. We gave the sales guy our preferred brand and they gave us a quote and are now coordinating with our ID with the trunking etc - quite fuss free. The sales guy seemed quite knowledgable and gave good suggestions on where to place the air con blowers, condensers.
  8. shmj, i think your progress is really quick. hopefully the rest of works will be completed smoothly. my contractor told me that for A&A, can move in even before TOP. :jawdrop: lucky for all the advice from the forumers here. If not i kena fine $20,000 for nothing.
  9. Jumbopanther, are you intending to have a hood for your wet kitchen? My wet kitchen is in a similar position as yours, in the yard and we were wondering if we should install a hood so as not to disturb the neighbours with the smell from the cooking.
  10. builder works are not at all boring! looking forward to more updates

  14. nice!! how long did the whole process take??
  15. Earlier this year in May, my submission to URA took about 2 1/2 weeks. BCA was the killer, took 4 - 5 weeks with a lot of to and fros with our PE on the structural submissions. You will need to get a PE do do your submissions for you. From what i understand, if it's an A&A then no need architect. If reconstruction or rebuild, then architect's input is needed. Good luck!
  16. hey Suyun, i got an email from Aamor saying that there is going to be a GLOBAL INCREASE in Hansgrohe prices in October. So if you are interested in Hansgrohe fixtures for your bathroom, better buy within this month!
  17. hello Shmj, as a fellow inter-terrace owner i will be following your blog with interest. Do keep the updates coming and good luck with the reno!
  18. Minerat, your woody tiles are really nice! Looks even nicer than the parquet floor. Well worth the money spent la.
  19. Nice! especially the window on top - lets in light and still retains privacy
  20. With regards to pest control, i am most probably going with "R" as well - they were really efficient and was quite impressed with that 10 page detailed description as well as the 5 year warranty. I also wanted to have that peace of mind dealing with a more reputable company. My quote is similar to yours - did you get the credit card discount?
  21. You don't have a portaloo at your reno site? Our workers have a portaloo to use.
