  1. Precisely! Showed to my contractor just know they also say quality like very good leh... haha For those who are interested, just go to Taobao website and search for "Jomoo 水龙头“ and you will see lots of results. Wall is down! My open kitchen is slowly taking shape! No more all at end of corridor to the rooms! Nicholas confirmed tiling will be completed by 24 Jan and plumbing by 25 Jan. Aircon installation on 25 Jan. Windows installation on 28 Jan. Painting starts 29-30 Jan. Kitchen bottom cabinets on 29 Jan. Caesarstone measurement on 30 Jan followed by installation before 6 Feb. Floor laminates 30 Jan to 1 Feb. Last week of Jan will be a super crazy week...
  2. Signed up windows grilles package with Andy from Home Aluminum yesterday. His price is really unbeatable. Installation will be on 28th Jan. Praying hard for no delay. You can find his contacts easily when you search for Home Aluminum. Screeding and tiling will start today. Electrician will resume rewiring today. Lightbox and false ceiling guys will come on Monday. So far so good. 3 weeks to reno is definitely possible!!!
  3. Taps, mixers all arrived from Taobao. Chose China local brand Joomo after consulting several friends who have been working in China for some time. Joomo is a reputable local China brand and they are also making for some top European brands. Kitchen Mixer Shower Mixer Basin Tap Total damage less than $300 including freight. Cheap cheap but quality good good! 2pcs shower mixers 2pcs basin mixer taps 1pc kitchen mixer 2pcs basin water trap
  4. Dunno where they are made but as long as they are bought from the local sales office then it should be good. I think they are made in China and think Blum are made in China too. Nothing wrong with MIC as long as they are from a reputable company or else 90% of the world's laptops and smartphones will not be made in China. FYI, the soft closing full extension tracks from the local Hettich office costs less than $31 max. If your offer is much cheaper than this price, then maybe you want to think twice again before getting it.
  5. Looking good so far. Monday takes final measurements and I can see results last nite liao... Estimated all carpentry will be completed by next Friday! Yeah...
  6. Me no choice. Sold first then buy and the buyer for my old unit is going back on his promise to allow my family to stay till end Feb. Now I have to move into the new house by 4 Feb or else no place to stay.
  7. Cornices and skirtings hacked. Tmr will be hacking master toilet.
  8. Jakyr, If I have time, I would prefer to hack then lay new tiles as compared to overlaying with new tiles. The condition of the whole house is very old so overlaying is just a simple way to give the kitchen a fresher look since I am already spending close to $8K on my kitchen.
  9. Hi all, I would like to relocate my existing Opennet Box from one corner of my living room to another wall within the same room but behind the TV console. No extension of cable is required as the existing cable and trunking actually runs past the new location I desire. Questions: 1. Can I just take down the OpenNet box on my own and mount it at the new location? OpenNet is charging $200 just for moving the box from A to B in the same room. 2. If answer is No to question 1, is there anyone else who can also provide the relocation service but at a much lower price?
  10. Bro, I have to move in by 4 Feb so basically no time to do more. No hacking of existing floor tiles. Only tiles overlay for kitchen plus Inovar laminates for the rest of the house. My ideas are all practical ideas as I need more space for the living room and masterbedroom since there are 7 living things including my Cookie staying in this house. No cove lighting as it is a DUST COLLECTOR CUM POTENTIAL LIZARD hideout place. No aircon in the living room as no existing aircon can handle my new open concept living room + dining room + Kitchen unless I add on another compressor plus 2pcs 24-28k BTU fancoils. So chose fan instead as costs is much lower. I have total 6 fans in the house. All KDK.
  11. Common toilet hacked Kitchen cabinets hacked All debris consolidated neatly
  12. The hacking has started! Scheduled completion on or before 28 Jan for kitchen and toilets tiling plus plumbing.
  13. My master toilet top is 500mm. My common toilet top is 420mm. Cannot go beyond 420mm or else the full extension drawers will hit the WC coz they are facing each other. This is one aspect you need to consider.
  14. Both kitchen walls will be gone! Kitchen Master Bedroom with an EYESORE Aircon ledge
  15. Yeah... finally got the keys to my place this afternoon. Hacking scheduled to start on 15 Jan! My big living room Walkway to rooms
  16. Wardrobe less than $230. I am opting for casement doors instead of sliding doors due to the design I want for the doors. Internal coloured PVC, ABS and soft closing hinges are standard stuff. Hettich tracks installation FOC.
  17. Bro, I am looking for the below stuff. PM me your recommedations and price. 1. total 2.2M (1.2M + 0.5M + 0.5M) long T5 lights for the bottom of my top kitchen cabinets. These lights will all be conncted to the main light swtich in the kitchen so all will light up at once with just flick of the switch on the wall. Warm white colour. 2. total 2.4M (3pcs of 0.8M) long T5 lights for my wardrobe. Purpose is the light out the entire inner part of the wardrobe with just a switch. Warm white colour too. 3. about 4M long track light holder with 4pcs E27 bulbs holders. Thanks!
  18. Laminate for the carpentry. Nothing fanciful. Just something simple for a pleasant and everlasting feel. Blanco Metra 9 Sink in White. Not grey. This complete set of Hettich fully extendable tracks with soft closing costs about $45 with the 2pcs side metal plates. More than 30% cheaper than Blum.
  19. Think pay after resale completion or after 2nd appt. I DIY my buy sell process so not 100% sure.
  20. I also want to hack and redo kitchen wall tiles but no time... can only overlay.
  21. Haha... but take note that the $11K is without caesarstone hor. Just the plywood plus laminates from EDL, internal coloured PVC, China made soft closing hinges plus installation. The carpenter saved on the closing tracks as I am getting Hettich tracks for all my carpentry (only $28-30 per set of tracks vs Blum $45-50 and they work the same). My caesarstone costs me $180/pfr for the 2230 Linen model with sharp nose edge. IDs are quoting at least $220 for caesarstone.
  22. Multi888, Haha... this is the feedback that I got from IDs as well. No one is willing to take up my project at my targeted cost and timeline. Almost all are telling me that they can hand over the unit to me end March if I am to start mid Jan due to the long CNY break. As such, I have to go round sourcing for contractors myself so that I can have a house to move in within 3 weeks. According to Nicholas from Renoguyz, now to CNY is the peak period for carpenters and not tilers. Most hacking and tiling work shd be completed by now for projects that are to be handed to customers before CNY. As such, he can get extra workers for the hacking and tiling works and complete my toilets + kitchen within 2 weeks. As for my carpentry, I got a contractor who has his own factory and own workers. His workers are working round the clock now without off days till 4 days b4 CNY to complete all projects on hand. Since he is the young boss of the company, he has complete control over the allocation of his workers unlike IDs who share a common pool of contractors. He promised me that he will be able to finish up all the carpentry that I need before CNY but I will be happy to move in with just the kitchen and the wardrobe. If he is unable to complete the shoe rack or TV console before CNY, I just need to move over my existing furniture to the new house. Dun blame your ID as his hands are tied too due to this super peak period for carpenters. Cheers... and both fingers + toes crossed for you as well.
