  1. Thanks guys! I'm especially concerned cos Alan also say it may look messy. @retchlow - Thanks for posting that pix, helps me visualize things! I think you've got a point there, a white bottom cabinet may look better. However, I don't really like the look of white colour for both top and bottom cabinet. What happens is I will be doing concrete-based bottom cabinet instead of the usual plywood base. Therefore, there will be a row of white tiles across the entire cabinet base (the part closest to floor tile), followed by the wood grain cabinet above (if I choose this colour). I will be using 10x10cm white tiles for this. My samsung solid surface will be white, plus 3D white subway tiles as backsplash, then white top cabinet above. Using the same 3D subway tiles for the wall, but there is only a small exposed wall area in my kitchen.
  2. Having a big headache over kitchen tiles! Already chose a Peranakan inspired design but my contractor and a few friends say it may look a bit messy. Then again, when you step into a kitchen, you will tend to look at things at eye level, right? Anyway, let the pictures do the talking.... This is our tiny kitchen before reno... Plan to do our kitchen top & bottom cabinets similar to this style (picture above), but in a light brown wood grain laminate for bottom cabinet. This is our shortlisted floor tile. It's one huge 60x60cm piece, 16 designs are printed on one single piece. Due to the small size of our kitchen, the main area will use approximately 9 pieces of 60 x 60cm tiles, this number is excluding the sides where we might have to cut tiles into smaller pieces. The tile in real life looks more muted than in the photo, there's some sort of washed out effect when you scrutinize it. What do you guys think?
  3. That hafary one which I sent u the pix Didn't realize there is price diff, I'm not using that tile though. The guy at An Huat told us this tile is manufactured for european market leh, duno how true.
  4. Ha, choose one wall then! I was considering to use one of the blue/white patterned type on my kitchen cabinet (cos I am doing concrete base) but it will make my kitchen look very messy together with that peranakan big floor tile.
  5. Thanks for sharing! I've been eying this stool! Is their warehouse sale at their store at that building where Grafunkt is located? Ha, don't remember name of that building. How much is the stool after discount?
  6. Envy u! Perhaps use it as a feature wall, just one side of the wall? Or if u daring enough, just use it all round lor
  7. Did you see those 10x10 square tiles at An huat? It has several types of flora patterns, some have geometric patterns. Very pretty! Too bad I don't have a suitable place to use it. Not sure what kinda b/w floor tile is typical of western diner, but those b/w honeycomb mosaic tiles are lovely!
  8. Ya man, thanks! Saw a really beautiful long rug at CB2! Check it out if you haven't, nice stuff! It's at peranakan place beside centrepoint. hurhur
  9. Love your tiles! I'm using the 3D subway tiles too! What colour grouting did u used for this - black? I'm considering between black or charcoal (dark grey) grouting. Did you happen to have seen Kartell Componibili at the sale?
  10. You can sand down the surface of old furniture and spray paint over. Actually sometimes after cleaning away the dirt, you can see really nice wood grain, not nec have to paint it. If you want old chair, do consider the one I am selling! COME COME CLICK THE LINK BELOW! Wuahahhaha!
  11. Finally your wait is over! Not surprised that he uses a standard template... Take your time to pore over it while waiting for other contractors lor. Btw, u got my PM? Do send me your email addy if u still need that tile pix
  12. Living room of my future place. Er not that far away, next week it'll be ours! Wuahahha Yah, most probably putting artwork. Yah, I thought of using recessed spotlight. Guess have to use these instead of removing the Lbox to save money. Actually if I use downlights, some of the light does shine on the wall also right?
  13. Is it weird to use install track lights on Lbox? I think it kinda looks weird... Thinking if I should use tracklights to shine on the wall behind the sofa.
  14. Waaaa.. you sure or not, how to carry back? See if you like the ones at An huat bah, I think they are quite pretty. And the hafary one I told u. Good for u on the lamps! Rem to post pix here. hehe.
