He & She, hahaha. Yeah, they went to ask the HDB contractor, but HDB contractors apparently charge you exorbitant amounts when actually they provided it for dirt cheap under HDB. So the IDs found a cheaper source who had similar tiles. I don't really remember how much the ledges cost, but I remember it was quite cheap in the scheme of things (probably under $100). Our ID passed us the receipt from the tile shop for the tiles, so we paid them whatever the receipt quoted.

Shall feature certain areas along the way, while we're still giving the place a little more character. Our bathrooms were undergoing HDB upgrading when we were in the process of buying the place. Upgrading works were completed a month before we got the keys. Like all new HDBs, the upgrading meant we couldn't rework the bathrooms without voiding the 3-year warranty covered by HDB. We took a while to decide, and went with not hacking the bathrooms. We quite liked the baby blue+white combination, but there was an ugly strip of leaf-prints running across that we would prefer removed. Most IDs told us they couldn't do it without affecting the tiles around the strip, 1 ID said they could "try", but eventually chickened out and said they couldn't. The ID we finally settled on said, "Oh sure that's quite easy." Haha The end product, with the white mosaic tiles we chose to replace the leaf-prints. The white mosaics make me happy Also, kudos to our ID for paying attention to the details we forgot, like where we would place our shower bottles. We didn't hack the bathroom tiles, so doing a "hole in the wall" for the bottles (which seems like a popular choice now) didn't occur to us. Our ID suggested a concrete ledge, tiled with the same tiles as the ones HDB used. We're loving it so far!

Thank you Berlinbear how's living in the new home? Spending a lot of time on your bar-esque balcony?

Finally got the flower cans up! Next: decorate with colors.

Some of the photos got cut off in the collage making app. Pfft, doesn't do the pictures justice

like everyone is saying, nice lighting for the stairs! Very nautical, gives me the feeling of being on a cruise for some reason Renovation looks like it's going well!

I actually love that little hole in the wall!

Exposed trunking can be quite cool if done with a design in mind. So don't worry, I'm sure it'll turn out okay! Shall trawl your t-blog Nah, not that attentive to the finest detail, just anal! Hahaha I hope the time to sit back and relax comes soon! Now it's just sitting back amongst the mess All the best with your renovation!

Got more stuff over the weekends, but the place is too messy to be photographed. Now the arranging of furniture and stuff is done mostly over the weekend. Wish we could just take 2 weeks off to make the house more like a home. Meanwhile, more shots of the animal family.

Thanks Berlinbear and Z3phy! The house is still in a mess, so there isn't much to take pictures of. But I just noticed the shadows cast by the lights in the bathroom!

Our chest and phone join the living room ensemble

Congrats! Enjoy your new house

Got ourselves a chopping board () to use as a coaster on the study table in our lounge upstairs. Got fed up trying to fit our things onto the usual tiny coaster meant for cups Bought a bed for our pup! Silly boy still likes to sleep on the floor though

Looks like your cat seriously has character! hi rockyAtRenotalk! I remember reading your t-blog and thinking that your choice of materials seriously lives up to your nick! How's renovation coming along? First week in the new home is great, except that we haven't stopped cleaning and unpacking and arranging and buying things that we realize we lack. Seriously exhausting! Haven't actually gotten a chance to sit down and enjoy the new place. Can't wait to finally be done arranging things to our fancy and start to enjoy the new home Got it from Howards, Harborfront outlet

First breakfast in the new home. Finally a chance to use the cutlery. Love the tissue boxes we got for the house. Took a while for us to find a simple tissue box that we liked. Muji had one, but it didn't fit the conventional tissue size (buying their tissue refills just to fit their tissue box would cost us a bomb ) The Hyflux person came yesterday to fix the water filter. Totally surprised when I came home and didn't see an extra spout for drinking water. Turns out we wasted our time planning where to place the extra spout. The uncle said we have a mixer tap, so he simply configured it such that the drinking water would come out from the main tap Yay for less clutter!

Make Room I love the stuff there.

Did you try placing the old litter in the new tray? They usually don't differentiate between trays. We managed to change our cat's litter tray without him putting up much fuss. Maybe your cat has more character heh

They've marked both sofas as theirs! Guess this means they find them comfy

All the best with your renovation journey, fellow Yishuner!

My cat thanks you, Berlinbear! The place is still a work in progress. Still missing many pieces here and there.

So wonderful to know there are people like you guys out there who care about animals!! Met so many irresponsible/ignorant idiots who think animals are disposable and don't see them as equals. Very refreshing to see people like you guys!
