  1. When u buy things ahead of time, it's like that. My grohe 900mm shower bar also can't fit now due to the boxup.
  2. Went JB yesterday. Don't have any pictures to show as forgot to take them. Went to Tampoi Lighting Center and Starworld to look at lights. The range of lights was lesser than i expected. I guess with only 2 - 3 shops, can't expect much. More lights available in jalan besar or balestier... Bought a series of MIC 3 small black cone lights for dining table, look something like this. $137RM http://www.tomdixon.net/products/us/cone-light-small Got this from Tampoi Lighting center for my girl's room. $331 RM. http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.12.qdNweo&id=16816481884&ad_id=&am_id=&cm_id=140105335569ed55e27b&pm_id= Some of the philips lights i see at lightings.com.sg not available there also. Need to still get 2 ceiling lights for bedroom 3 & kitchen. 2 x toilet lights. 2 x bomb shelter and service yard. Have to get them this weekend to prevent further delay in renovation!
  3. I'm having some trouble understanding u. a) WC cannot change position. the sewage pipe position is fixed. Resale HDB cannot have concealed water pipes i think but otherwise u can change your shower mixer position. b) dunno what u are asking c) I don't think there is any legal way. Definitely no exhaust or ventilation duct or fan can be attached to the windows.
  4. my downlights via peeka 7-day air express delivery has reached SG. delivery tomorrow!
  5. got picture? I've no idea which chair u mean. Apparently they are having a roadshow at thomson plaza starting from today. Have more chairs available for kar chng testing...
  6. wynn furnishing at Furniture mall. in an earlier post. fabric cover.
  7. Waiting for my downlights to reach SG. This will be lightings week. Heading into JB later this week to take a look at some lights. Hopefully can buy something there! If not then we will buy the remainder from SG chopchop this week. The renovation is stuck while waiting for me to get the lights, then electrician can put them up before taking off the cardboard for chemical wash. Then finally its for installation of cabinets. Then the WC will be changed this week. Had a discussion with Mr B and carpenter together on friday regarding carpentry. 2 feature walls - living room and my MBR (to hide all the stupid wires). Purely aesthetic reasons. Looks for a price Also carpentry for kitchen and the wardrobes. Paint is up for the house!. No pictures though. Don't think can see much on HP camera anyway.
  8. thanks. i enjoy reading ur reviews of the things u bot. Though we haven't bought anything in common lol.
  9. thanks for the tip. do u see raw macadamia nuts there?
  10. Sure. It's an extra cost. Aesthetic reason only. It's definitely a frill if u want to get downlight. MBR is 2 switches for 2 lights each. 1 more for the small passageway leading to MBR. My Living + Dining area has a total of 11 down lights and 1 pendant light. Chioh must pay a price.
  11. Booked a dining table with Honmage also. Only seen on catalogue. 1.8m. Hardly shopped around for this as we liked what we saw in the catalogue book... Oak top with white grain legs. Only seen on catalogue. Hope it turns out good! Most important was child friendliness. No edges (though ironically, my tv console can't be rounded cos Mr. B says look will suffer... maybe have to put those child bumpers on the edges ...) Guess with everything it's compromise. Glass is practical in cleaning up but fingerprint stains ... White top looks clean but hard to maintain. Easily yellow/stain. Opted for woody look but with some white legs for a modern touch. Image from the catalogue. Chairs we still deciding. No rush... Otherwise what was on display in honmage showroom is very little. But you can book stuff from their catalogue. The chairs there are not comfortable enough. Also very few on display. So we will look elsewhere for that.
  12. Erm, your living room. Did GC drill through a beam for the AC?? unless ur trunking is mounted to the side away from the camera or went underneath the beam...
  13. hahaha omg, the toilet cabinet ... gosh can use for preschoolers. like the staircase hand guard wood color!
  14. nice at least flooring settled. premium BTO?
  15. i only living/dining + MBR. rest of rooms still using conventional ceiling light. haha u more "ai sui" than me
  16. sorry? don't understand what u mean. sure it's quite extravagant to build a false ceiling just for 4 -5 down lights. But if u have multiple downlights. u will realise the benefit when ur kid is sleeping with u. essentially it will serve the purpose of a very expensive night light lol Dark enough for kid to sleep but still bright enough to do your own stuff after they zzz I've lived 32 years with standard ceiling flourescent light. think its time for a change. frankly flourescent light makes everything look like **** especially if u take photos. lol
  17. BSC contractor has repaired the cracked tiles. The hollow sounding tiles that were found are all at the corners. BSC contractor advice is that changing these tiles may damage the surrounding tiles and the skirting and that it's ok to have hollow tiles at the corners... Although it sounds like dodgy reasoning but we checked with Mr. B and Mr B's tiler. They say no real need to change. Since all 3 industry people say same thing, we follow what they say lor False ceiling is up! And the painters have started work. Wash & Wear Bluebell white for MBR. Pink for baby's room. White pearl for rest of the house. Going to paint the stupid brown skirting. Based on conventional logic, the skirting follows the tiles or the wall. But this BTO give me brown (Mr. B says they are trying to match the doors probably). Since painting it with another paint will make it look metallic like (not recommended by Mr. B). Best option is to just cover it up with Wash & Wear. Though Mr B says over years if contact with water from mopping or floor cleaning, the edges will fade off also. But since it's such an eyesore to me at least, i will just paint it over. Pictures of false ceiling... really thin! 10cm since i using LED lights. Still waiting for my downlights to be shipped over from china. Already reached Peeka's forwarder's warehouse. Comes up to 25 sgd each. not as cheap as expected cos i was expecting 23+ each. But still significantly cheaper than SG. can't complain. Living Room false ceiling The thickness. 10cm. Really hardly noticeable unless u know the dimensions well. MBR false ceiling
  18. Wah 500+ ... My macclaire was about $330 each after GST. Hopefully turns out good... Yeah WC i definitely won't spend $500+ each...
  19. Ha I'm not into recliners fortunately. If i want to relax i just lie down on the chaise. Nuah to the max! Lots of replicas. Go around and see which one u like best. Unless u wan the original ...
  20. Saw a butcher table which looked quite good to me. It seems to be only in 1.2m or 2.4m. So i may have to settle for it being a coffee table
  21. Went Comfort Furniture on Saturday looking for stools and chairs. Anyone else got suggestions on where to try various types of chairs? I don't believe in buying off internet for something so butt sensitive Thinking of getting this for MBR dressing table Usual Eames and Eames-like chair. Our preference so far is for the orange one in terms of comfort and stability though it's pretty heavy. But that's cos it has a metal frame in which all the pegs are inserted. more sturdy compared to normal eames ... Eames is cheap though on taobao Another option. PVC leather covered chair. Pretty comfortable as well. But price w/o bargaining is $100 more than the former
  22. Fullsun @ Jalan besar is the shop apparently can see the way they flush? Toto out of my self imposed budget ... They are pretty expensive right?
  23. Nice. not really into industrial. But the lights look good.
