  4. I totally understand the part about bto doors.. now that you have put things into prespective.. i have no idea who did my door. it was included with uncle P. the colour is achieved by staining/painting with the oil based colour... wood im told its solid nyahtoh however it is spelled...
  5. Hi Changbp, the louvre door cost close to 1k includes the door frame... its a solid wooden door. I was tempted to use it for all the rooms and toilets as well BUT the cost was WOW so i decided not to... hehe
  6. Yup they have different characteristics. My previous one has more iron content which make it dull after wiping. It was quite high maintenance as it mimics marble in looks and behaviour. My kitchen stove side is from India, not black galaxy, is also very good for kitchen as it is very smooth and not porous and it maintains its smoothness and shine. Probably because the stone is harder. As for this island top, it is called blue pearl and it is from Norway very awesome and easy to maintain...
  7. Anyways, anyone else took Uncle P to do their house?? Share pics leh... or msg me can? I is kepo and would like to see...
  8. One more thing to share. Please do check that your aircon installer properly seals everything on the outside of your flat especially if it is a resale flat like mine. because this will happen.... One night a huge storm broke out and all the water seeped in through the aircon pipes or duct or something.. I called Uncle P and he told me actually the aircon installer did not cover up the hole. He already told them but they did not think that this would happen. Uncle P told me that because he saw that he actually treated my floor with some waterproof coating and it will not rot my wood. BUt i do have to contact the aircon guys to rectify the issue else everytime it rains heavily this will happen. Which I did call them and they made good my whatever hole was not patched up. So thumbs up to G*in c*ty as well for their prompt response.
  9. Remember my super messy study room? I couldnt stand it that I had to call Uncle P and ask him to make a proper storage for me. And two thumbs up... It was just what i had pictured it. I will take the whole room picture in my next post. This is before.. supper messy This is after I am loving it.. I just need a study table and thats it!
  10. Update on my granite... its sooo late... but here it is... Its soo heavy it needs 4 men to carry it Here it is upclose... Love the shine and the sparkles when the track lights above is turned on...
  11. OMG I love your blue kitchen cabinet! Is it laminate or spray painted??
  12. Hi Aisbella, chk your pm! The fairy lights were from primark in london...
  13. I know right.. I think its irrational fear... even the hubs said so...
  14. I negotiated and had to top up quite a bit to change but they will take back the existing granite. Otherwise where am i to store a huge piece of stone slab.. hehe... that said i cant wait for the new one to come! We chose the blue pearl design.. hopefully this is better.
  15. Hi there it was uncle p's electrician who fixed for me.. i dont have his direct contact..
  16. Here is a lived-in update of my house.. pardon the messiness.. My masterbedroom The walk in closet... my fav part of the room cos i simply love the louvered door. Mums room so huge it can fit a queen bed, 2 chest-drawers and my dad's hospital bed. This would be my mums walk in what used to be the store room. I have now managed to live without a store room. We as a family have learnt to buy only what we need and de-clutter often. Hehe My study room which is now a temporary laundry room. I have yet to put in the study table and shelvings.. This Sept holidays would be the time to do this. Hopefully.. Lastly my masterbedroom toilet... I have opted to not have showerscreen as i hate having glass anywhere.. i have a phobia that it will break or i slip n fall and it cuts me.. too much watching final destination oopsss... so its juz simple and plain all wet toilet.. hehe... Alright there you go.. my home lived in... Alhamdulillah...
  17. Im back! Have been super bz settling in open houses and lotsa weddings to attend to on the weekends.. This is my island countertop in the showroom. I have a thing about the granite on my kitchen island. while its so gorgeous and lovely with its white veins and sparkly bits, it is such a pain in the butt to maintain. Expensive things must be fuss-free? no? As much as I love the marble-like pattern, the characteristics seems to mimic marble too.. That is not fun nor nice to look at! Whenever i leave a cold drink or juz anything on the granite top, it tends to leave a mark. and it is annoying. from the side view it looks faded and dull. only from the top view it looks majestic. here are pictures of the marks... As you can see its not smooth and shiny. It makes me wonder if they did not seal the granite properly. But according to the boss, its got a high content of iron in it.. lotsa granite jargon that i do not understand. he came twice to my house to polish and wax it, the shine lasted only one day.. next time we wiped, it cane back to the same looks faded and dull. why oh why!!!! I cant live with that! Thus I told Uncle P I wanted to change. So we went shopping for a new top making sure it does not have the same characteristics as this one! After giving up our previous Italian car (high maintenance) now we giving up our italian granite.. also high maintenance. lol Lucky italian leather bags do not have this kinda characteristics... oopsss... ok back to topic... Here are our choices: 1st Choice 2nd choice and last choice would be the same as our kitchen cabinet side granite... so what do u all think? which one is nice?
  18. hi stray, i got it from Hua Khian.. you can google them. main office is at Defu lane... i will talk more about this granite in next post...
  19. Thank you kingandbin! My fairy lights are battery operated and its so troublesome! I have to climb up n down everynight juz to switch on n off. Lol guess i didnt think that through b4 buying. I have since took it down n will think of another place to put it where its easy to switch on n off. If you are gg for the long run, a switch one is way better than a battery one! Hope that helps!
