It should read as pre-out, not zone. Zone are like zoning where you can add in additional speakers and you can pipe music specifically to that Zone.

Hmm... Depending on the ONT - if it is also a router, it would be better to setup your 2 other routers as a past-through so that the ONT router is the one that assigns the IP addresses and you would not have issues with IP addresses clashing when devices are connected to the 2 routers.

Analog system!??! LOL! Where got $$$ for that after the HT! Now with the looming reno cost as well, need to save save save (in order not to disrupt my annual holiday plans due to this)! HT already busted my budget because I decided to go with the BP7006 floorstanders instead of my original plan of 5 small speakers with a sub. Since the BP7006 has a small sub in their floorstanders, I got 2 small sub in replacement of that 1 big sub - Heck if I really want, I could also connect to the center speaker's small sub to make it 3 small subs! However, I am not too into those big "thumping till my heart also goes with it" bass, as long as the entire sound is good, with enough bass when needed in the movies or concert I am happy. I guess I am one of those that is not totally poisoned by XP people. Not into streaming... But maybe if I hooked up correctly, I could pull photos to be viewed on TV directly from NAS instead. Hmmm... One more thing to research when I get back. Now busy tying up knots so that I can happily go for my holiday that is in 3 days time.

Call KEC (Adelphi) and check if they have it. If they do, you can test drive it at their shop and see if the sound is what you would like to have. I bought my Def Tech speakers from them.

Nope, it's standard, so no flooring done in living and bedrooms (so it's good to go with concealing the LAN cables in the ground!). Kitchen/Service yard/Shelter comes with glazed porcelain tiles (why?! Isn't it slippery when wet?!), bathroom with ceramic tiles, walls for those areas are ceramic tiles - according to the sales brochure. Yeah, which is why I am asking around about the points and concealment of wiring and how network cables can be laid, although I do have time on my side since it will still be a while before I even smell it! Even electricians would ask, "Huh? Why need to lay LAN cables? Only private properties need lah!" (That's what they heard when they first request for it during their reno, but got them to insist on getting that done. But I forgot to remind them to make sure it's not running parallel to the power lines! LOL) But what has HT got to do with network - You talking about those network HDD players like your Popcorn? I should also see how I can conceal the wires for the surround speakers (if it is possible at all).

I am currently using powerline at my current place and it sucks! When someone on/off a switch, you likely lose some data package, so I get problems with iTunes downloads of podcast or apps - have to restart them everytime. When another pc using the line at the same time, I can get disconnection from the router. So these are some of the issues you might face using this method. No issues when i was on cable/adsl as i had pts in my room, so modem/routers were in my room. The current setup started when they put the fibre TP in living room, and ONT has to be in the living room near the TP. Since I am not going lay LAN cables here anytime soon, it's the best solution... Which is why LAN pts will be part of the plan in the new place and hence those questions on how best to lay it.
