  1. I contacted HH and was shock with their tele personnel...very rude! In the end, we engaged Shalom. Pricing wise, among the 3 company that quoted, they range from 1.7K-2k and Shalom was the highest. But we found that they arrange the most number of movers and trucks and is the only one who guarantee a half day job. After the move, we decide to switch a huge vase and chairs from one level to another, without a word, they helped to get it done. Thumbs up.
  2. 84845441. I think there is some changes to his portfolio, call him to find out. I have moved in for 2 mths. Other than sporting some minor defect which he has arranged his worker to come rectify, we are actually quite pleased with his service. Imo, sometime you need to see how a contractor react to your 'reasonable' complain in order to judge his service.
  3. Mine is done. So far the carpentary work still acceptable. Yes, the glass works has many mistake but nevertheless, rectification was done promptly. Bits of touching up is being carried out now as the mover destroyed some painting and chip-off to my walls. All in all, i am very happy with the whole process. i am sure they have different sets of carpenters, electrician, tilers, plumber etc. So if you are showned with certain completed project, try to make sure your ID engage the same groupies for your scope.
  4. Don't know what you mean. I am certainly not related or promoting for them here.
  5. Got 2 QS storage beds and frame from Sincere Mattress in Midvalley (Sin Ming). I think they specialize in Dunlopillo mattresses. They are very pratical esp when my kids room are small. But do take note storage frame are higher, my kids need to climb up into their beds now.
  6. just had mie done by Yee Sin. No frills metal racks with wood planks. Cheapset i can find. If you are not looking for customize sizes, can try V.Hive. They have metal rack at $150 each. I recently saw advert from Giants Hypermart for metal racks at <$100!
  7. I think you should be able to find wood culture from yahoo search. i did 2 types of wood laminate from them (6mm and 8mm thick exclude the insualtion thickness). I don't know how to post photo here but you can PM me and i will try take some pic for you. I have tested different types of laminate (mostly from shops and friends house), So far i find this WC's Berryloc the best in term of the feel. Then again, don't expect them to feel as hardy as parquet flooring. They are afterall less then half its pricing.
  8. we use Dyson for daily vacuum of flooring. Recently got a Delphin (water base) that we use it mainly for fabric like beds, curtains, pillow and couches. It can effectively beats up dust and dust mites. It actually feels fresher after that.
  9. I bought DIY insect screen from Taobao (about $3 for a 2 panel window size, see the link in other thread). Quite easy to make. Quality wise acceptable but i guess those sold from shopes here should be better. If the flies come from your balcony, mosquito mesh may not be suitable. What i observed is before it rains, they will flock into my house. I will normally switch off all lights inside the house leaving only the balcony lightings. In less than 10min, they will be attracted there, then to close the balcony door and i will switch off the light outside, they will somehow move to other place.
  10. I got from here. DIY to your requirement. http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a220o.1000855.31-2806851518.2.wAHt8f&id=4742731387
  11. i did mine with Wood Culture. Berryloc from Europe. So far so good. Ask for the silver insulation betweem wood and floor. It prevent that floaty feel.
  12. i also left final 10% but work still rushing. In fact, we left some work to be fix when we move in (ID considered some damage to the wall and painting during the moving). So far so good. Mine's not Steven though.
  13. that is weird. When the cement is in, it should be clear if thickness is sufficient or too much. i will suggest you to ask him remove the cement.
  14. Kiasu, Sorry to hear that. Quite frankly, i will never touch any ID that go door-to-door promoting. In fact, i will also not seek those from roadshow or expo. Good ID are usually flooded with jobs. They will take in bigger ones and sub-let smaller ones to sub-con or sister companies. For your windows, you should just go direct to window suppliers, no need to buy through ID.
  15. You are right. ID is basically main-contractor with some design background. You can actually hire a co-ordinator if you have your own carpenter and tiler. It will save you some $.
