  2. I'm guessing my 2nd draft of 3D drawing may take another 8 to 10 days as we are in no rush. So in the meantime, I went out scouting for home decorations! Torn between wanting to make our dream home a minimalist one, and wanting to buy some decoration that are so nice~ Am proud that I controlled myself though, only took photos. Need to see fit with our colour theme or not first. Okay, pictures! Sorry if some are blur as I was kind of afraid taking photos is not allowed I'm also putting up the prices (in AUD). Can anyone who often shop Taobao or are price savvy pls let me know if they are good bargains or not? TIA! Pure white clock - $10 Monochrome Paris Canvas Picture 75 by 75cm - $12 Chill Bliss Calm Relax Wooden Picture - $12 LOVE Photo frame - $5 Dove glass mason jar - $7
  3. Hi there, mailed both of you Hi fellow neighbour, have PM-ed you!
  4. Just sharing, my parent's house has this kind of wardrobe where we can't open the left without opening the right. I think one of the reason is for aesthetics? So the gap between the doors will have the same colour as the laminate. If it's just two doors together without overlap, the gap will show the inside of the wardrobe if alignment is not perfectly done up.. So the job actually gets harder for the carpenter or whoever's fixing the doors
  5. Hi there, just sharing from my experience, the $10k+ could be their most basic package? E.g most basic packages offer 20ft kitchen cabinet but we actually need 40ft for top and bottom cabinets on both sides of the kitchen.. Table top could be the basic solid surface and requires top up etc.. Maybe can ask around for fellow bloggers quotation to have a rough gauge of required items so nothing is missed out Hope this helps!
  6. Thanks for sharing how the air con trunking is run! Will see how my ID suggests Are you able to show how the trunking is in the common bedroom?
  7. I will see it as a compliment too.. You may like to watermark your designs so people know where it came from? Also to drop them a note to acknowledge the origins of the designs..
  8. Congrats on receiving your 3D! Will you be sharing it? =D
  9. Queen or king doesn't matter, as long as the bed is comfy Think on the brighter side... cheaper and easier to change bedsheets!
  10. If only my walls r not so blue-ish, i may want to try out your concept too.. hehe. Great choice there!
  11. Hi Songz, Yup we went for the Lbox without cove lights for the same reason.. Another reason is because I'm staying on the lower floors, may have more lizards and creepy crawlies. Don't want to give them the opportunity to hide inside
  12. Hehe thanks fellow neighbour! We have the same taste I like your 3D drawing idea of a blue ceiling within the L-box! Are you keeping this idea?
  13. Hello Vicx1234, Thanks for the suggestion Yup i guess if there's really no space behind the divider I may have to go with the dining table behind my sofa idea. But still crossing my fingers it can be where it is now! Does this look better? *hopeful* Good to hear that the MBR should be spacious enough, hdbs are getting smaller by the day...
  14. Hmm... how about putting some deco on the table so it won't look like an altar space? hang a piece of drawing there?
  15. Hang in there and I'm sure we all look forward to seeing your beautiful home!
  16. Thanks for your kind words! Am pretty happy with the 1st draft The simplifying is more for the TV feature wall (no need for ledge to put deco), the bomb shelter feature wall (current design seems slightly complicated) and the bedroom two wardrobe design (still a tad complicated to our liking).. For furnishings like carpet, coffee table, ottoman etc, I won't be getting them either. Prefer the open space.. Good point on the MBR, i must ask if the drawing is to scale.. At the moment i doubt so. MBR i think the foot of the bed will be pretty closed to the wall, so I feel the recliner chair is also more for aesthetics effects in the 3D drawing. Won't be including that in my room. The sides should be tighter as well. Sharp eyes regarding the dining table! That's one of the amendments i asked for as well.. Will share the next set of 3D drawings when its ready!
  17. 3D Drawings First Draft I think we are progressing very fast given that we have yet to get our keys. But really need to do as much as possible so the reno won't clash with our projects & exam timing! Doesn't really help that we r not studying in SG and have no way to supervise the reno unless it is just right during our mid-sem break But really thankful to our ID who did up our 1st draft of 3D (requested about 10 days back w our colour scheme) & he mentioned by 18 to 20th Feb. Got it last night (earlier than promised). Makes a very happy me But there's definitely amendments to be made though. Thought the overall concept pretty much captures what we requested for - something simple and classy and with white, silver/glass/mirror & blue as the colour scheme. Did not send him my mood board as I wanted to see if he has better ideas. Must say he is pretty close! For the 2nd draft, we actually requested some areas to be even simpler. Hubby says we are really easy customers but I told him sometimes the simpler a design is, the harder it is for them to make it classy Now will let the pics do the talking! 18. Hi there, Your idea of a telescopic retractable table is interesting.. Have you thought of where you will be placing it? For the dent in your living area, I just realised mine have the same issue too I think it depends on what you intend to put at the area beside the TV console? Coz to box up the entire length will reduce the space of the living room further.. And also, depends on the difference in price to box up partially and to box up the entire length as well..
  19. Hello fellow twinnie blogger You even went to measure the space! Haha.. I have a small feet, about size 5.5 to 6 depending on cutting so thats good for me! But my hubby feet is about 9 to 10 though, so his shoes got to slant.. Maybe his can put at the divider area (uploading my 3D soon). Will discuss more with him!
  20. Hello! I'm afraid we did not hack the bedroom walls.. Based on our floor plan (which I know after reading so many reno blogs that is only an approximate....) our MBR width is 4820mm. King bed width is 1910 + 100mm as allowance for bed frame, if based on this calculation, we have approx 2810mm left (provided floor plan is accurate)? Did your MBR have a wardrobe? Could that be why? Or maybe our design is longish so we have more space at the sides. The walking space at the foot of our bed is only 1200mm after deducting the bed + frame I guess luckily we have no intention to mount a TV there, or it will be even tighter!
