  2. if i'm not wrong, N71 is the 7th generation whilst R/S 81 is the 8th. the 8th generation has better colour contrast. R81 has 3 HDMI inputs whilst S81 has 2. R8 of course has better picture quality and more functions. if u r not so concern about the video/ audio connections, functions and quality, go for S81. i got the 32" for my mbr. bought it at 1199 with 150 choice vouchers.
  3. sorry to those i have replied late as i was busy shifting, packing and setting up my place. not forgetting the picture quality update. to those who are keen, i have upgraded the video cables to better quality type i.e QED and Van Dan Hul for the entertainment setup in the living area. picture has improved quite alot. no more 'waves', better image and colour density too. took me quite some time to try different tunings on the R81. those factory settings difinitely need to be adjusted to your environment. viewing distance and area lighting affects too.
  4. now is GSS, it would be around that price. last weekend, some departmental stalls had special post-vesak day sale.
  5. oic, sorry thought u looking for those built in ovens. will let u know if i come across any gd find
  6. i think karen's looking for a bigger oven enough to grill a whole chicken, isn't it? microwave oven size type a little too small.
  7. itz gd too. put side by side compare lor. as a consumer, compare the picture quality, looks, functions, ease of use, price and gift benefits, last but not least audio quality ( i dont really care abt this as im using ht). if u are to ask me which to get, u already know my answer bro
  8. they ar not panel makers but the processor board is gd.
  9. ok since u r happy, everyone's happy for u too. gd luck
  10. wah karen, your budget almost difficult to get brand new leh. maybe 2nd hand oven has slight chance. try jalan besar.
  11. yea your topic mislead people thoughts. anyway, some home deco magazines ever feature this concept before. i reckon u r toking abt suspended tv from the ceiling? if u r a home theatre audiophile fan, i suggest dont go into this concept. u may need to change or add-on any wires/ RCA/ optical/ HDMI cables that are linked to the tv. unless u are very firm with your av connections, 'suspended' tv is linked via ceiling/ ground to the stell pipes. again the additional length of gd quality wires not cheap tho. do give it some thoughts. cheerios.
  12. initial i wanted the LG7R too. 2weeks ago, LG had a roadshow selling 42" at $2999 with freebies. besides LC4/ 7 series, LG new models are LY, LB4/5 and 9 series. some models are 5ms response time and 120hz refresh rate. these models are better and more functions but i doubt they gonna bring in here. its mainly for western region. from what i was told, LC7 is to replace LB1 with higher contrast ratio, additional HDMI and better response time. LC4 is to replace LC2 with similar descriptions mentioned earlier. 42LB7R has lesser gift benefits and price much higher compare to 40R8. since 40R8 is cnet asia editor's choice model and very popular in the states, i know i cant go wrong. so in the end i chose a R8. if u can wait another 3 months or more, the price will dropped further despite the 7% GST. some new models for most brands will be out last quarter of the year. click on the link to find out more abt R8. http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0...0343522p,00.htm dont get me wrong, im not samsung promoter. juz sharing what i've gone thru. hope the info helps. cheerios.
  13. there are a few stores at jalan besar, across sungei kadut, that buys and sell 2nd hand electrical parts.
  14. today did a simple test. swopping the provided tv cable (that came with the new 32" and 40" samsungs) to my old crt cable. picture has no waves or distortion. very slight pixelization on some tv dramas. did experiment on 3 different tv, same results thus conclusion is that the supplied tv cables do sux.
  15. dont worry abt R8, the text is sharp and clear on my 40" so 32" shouldn;t be a problem. the last time i asked abt 32" R8 was around $17++ region. that was 2 weeks ago. gifts offered around the same.
