  1. Just need to remove the vinyl and lay the porcelain tiles. I don't think overlaying vinyl is advisable. For laying vinyl you need a level substrate, so you already have a level surface for the porcelain tiles. No hacking needed just remove the vinyl and the underlying concrete floor will be suitable for laying tiles. Although as mmoh pointed out the height of the floor might be slightly affected (maybe 1/8 inch higher, if tiles are same thickness as vinyl, due to the tile adhesive, aka cement) in this case but it should be minimum as long as it does not affect the main door clearance. As for the wall hung WC, I don't think it will be possible as the WC outlet is in the floor and not in the wall. Do read up on the renovation process as much as possible and have a good idea on what you want to achieve. As the more knowledgeable you are the better you can communicate with your contractor.
  2. Hi brendabb, looking to start renovation soon, could you pm me your contractor contacts please, thank you!
  3. For Ikea cabinets, if you are handy with tools, can diy as they are made to fixed dimensions. To me that is their advantage, readily available and can be easily replaced, instead of customized size. For their countertops it seems their real wood tops are no longer offered in SG, but that could be sourced from other companies.
  4. Congrats on getting your keys! The OCS tiles looks very nice leh.
  5. Teck Whye Vista is having their roadshow on the 10 Nov 19. West Plains roadshow is on the 24 Nov 19. Bedok North Vale on the 8 Dec 19. Congrats to all the 2rmers! Getting keys soon!
  6. Teck Whye Vista roadshow is up! Congrats to those 2rmers who got a unit there! http s://mynicehome.sg/cs/mnh/rs/teck-whye-vista
  7. Is the contractor a HDB licensed contractor? If so you can file a complaint to HDB.
  8. Wow awesome renovation man! Seems like you are a flight sim enthusiast. Thank you for sharing, looking forward to more updates!
  9. I think cantilevered/wall mounted cabinets although look nice, will not be as strong as floor standing ones.
  10. I'm using the Panasonic DH-3DL2S. Need to change the shower head though as it produces a very weak flow. The flow limiter is built into the head. From my own research it has a copper tank.
  11. Maybe there are those flow re-stricter inside the shower head? I've read some where that it could be remove.
  12. Hi ryanyth, have you tried Spotlight, they got lots of tracks and fabrics for curtains there, https://www.spotlightstores.com/sg/curtains-blinds Looks like the renovation is progressing nicely
  13. Hi ryanyth, very informative blog, and thank you for sharing your renovation journey! How about using a retractable clothesline? https://www.amazon.com/Minky-Retractable-Outdoor-98-Feet-Drying/dp/B001CJ12QO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1495675195&sr=8-3&keywords=Retractable+clothesline I have not used these contraptions before btw :D. But was trying to solve the same problem of where to hang laundry in a small space. Edit: Or just use some cordage with hooks mounted on opposing walls and tie off when hanging laundry.
  14. Take it one step at a time, can start with the flooring, hacking of walls etc eg. 1) decide on what tiles to get and their cost, go Hafary, Soon Bee Huat etc 2) decide if any hacking of walls required 3) kitchen do you want a platform for your cabinets, dimensions for platform, tiling for backsplash? etc.. etc..
