Hello all, check with you, for those who retained the toilet sinks installed by HDB, do you realise that when u take out the sticker / plastic layer for the stopper, the sticker is unable to come out completely and nicely. as in, there will be some remaining blue plastic at the side of the stopper. how do you get rid of the remaining plastic? am quite irritated by the sight of it. haha.

Shoe cabinet (cum display cabinet on top) Holes to allow Ventilation for the shoes Foyer light Ceiling Fan Realise we overestimated the amount of things we want to display. We have too many display cabinets / shelves now, with nothing much to display. And so... it means.. more money needs to be spent. Sad case. haha. Am thinking of buying some items from ebay, but am concerned if the items will reach Singapore 'intact'. Shall see which items i like enough to take this risk.

Thanks all . Just got my final bill last Friday, and was quite surprised it worked out to be $23k+ for my reno (excluding window grilles cos we got someone else to do it). We thought it would be about 27k. *phew* Hi bebebe, the chandelier costs $285. We like the colour of the chandelier and lamp shade alot. But we realise the crystals look abit...hmm.. fake. hahahaha. like, when like shines into the crystals, they dont have those rainbow effect. haha. And yup, our MBR wardrobe is custom made. cos there is a recess area in our MBR, so thought it would be better to custom make to fit the recess area exactly. My uncle is going to help do up 1 wardrobe each for the kids room and the study room.. would prob arrange with him to take measurements this coming or next weekend. And hubby and I saw this dining set in Picket and Rail today that we really like... @#($*)*^ but we bought our dining set liao. Anyone interested in wooden dining set? hahahaha.

For the curtains, i'm not sure who i'll get it from eventually, still b/w cottage crafts and this old uncle recommended by a friend. I am thinking of doing valance or curtains for my kitchen, but i'm thinking about the hassle of washing it often cos i think it'll smell after i cook. Really envy you..can get home sewn curtains. My MIL knows how to do it, but she's too busy helping to take care of my kids and her kids to help out. would prob be shifting in in mid-end May. Have not confirmed the date yet. gotta seek fsm advice again.

Finally, some pictures to share. We eventually gave up our tiffany light for the dining room. It was a painful decision to make. We really liked the tiffany light, but cos we already bought the chandelier (which was intended for our MBR), and the thought of having the chandelier (with 5 none energy saving bulbs) on every night makes my heart ache, so... we shifted our chandelier to the dining area, and had just normal hamburger lights for our MBR. Okay. I forgot to save our Shoe Cabinet picture. Was rather silly of me. Hmmm. ya, warsurfer, your house is very nice! i planned to get a tiffany lamp for my dining area also, but in the end, due to practicality, i transferred the chandelier in my MBR to the dining and did not buy the tiffany lamp. abit sad actually... but well... it's ok..it's ok. haha. i like your living room and kitchen curtains. where did you get them? I think your kitchen cabinets / wall tiles are very nice. i got the same handle as your kitchen handles. =) but i used them for my shoe cabinet and tv console. had porcelain knobs for my kitchen cabinets. I bought the samsung 40M81BX... Hai. We do have the serial number, but somehow, i got this feeling the TV might be in Msia now already. We are hoping our ID can compensate us at least half, cos in a way, the house was under her care during the time of renovation. But im not sure if she will. Also, cannot talk to the management, cos she's the management. haha. She's the boss. We will continue to install everything on Saturday (except the TV though...). Check with those who installed Citygas Rinnai heater. does citygas have to come again after installing the heater to link up the gas pipes between the heater and the 'U' shaped thing below the heater?

Actually, it's my ID's workers who signed the delivery order for us for the tv. Samsung delivered the TV one week earlier cos the shop we bought from forgot to tell them that the delivery should be postponed by a week. And they were outside the house already when they called, so my ID's workers signed the DO for us. In fact, our ID is the one who told us first that our TV was here. Actually, we do understand that we should bear some responsibility, but we're quite angry with my ID cos it seems that she's totally not willing to help. when we told her to find out more from her workers, she said that if we suspect her, she can also suspect that we purposely took away the tv to accuse her. abit duh right?? we wont be so bo liao. The current number lock was changed on Monday. She used a different lock altogether. And the lock is smaller and easier to break lor. My husband was shocked when he saw the lock and knew the pin. We suspect a few groups of people... Her workers, cos they were the ones who knew the TV was inside. Samsung's workers, cos they also knew the TV was inside and installation would only be done this weekend. And outsiders loittering around lor, cos the number lock is really too easy to break, mabbe the person didnt intend to steal the TV, but well, the TV was there in the box after he broke in, so he stole it? Hai. Very sian. Ya...Never go down everyday, cos my husband and i have been working till 10plus the past few days and there was not much progress in the house cos it was only pending wallpaper, painting touch up and electrical stuff. Should have gone there everyday. Anyway, we lodged a police report ytd night, but i think there is no chance of recovery one la...

Hi all Need to ask for some advice. Something terrible happened today. Hubby went up to the new house after work and realised that our 40inch LCD TV was GONE. It was delivered on Sat, and we didnt go to our house till today. And when we went there today, only the empty box was left. For the past 2 days, our contractor was putting up the feature wall wall paper and doing painting. And on Monday, our ID told me that she just changed the number lock. And when we were at our place today, we realise the number lock is those, small and very easy to break kind. My husband spoke to her, but she seemed to be unwilling to help us find out who the culprit is. She was more concerned with defending herself and her workers. How do you think we should handle this situation? we're thinking of asking for some compensation, but I think she won't give in. Sigh. Why why why? We were so close to completion, just left with installing the TV, lights, speakers.

same here, we also wanted the lighter shade, but also out of stock then. my reno shld be completed in about a week's time. abit disappointed actually, it's not as country as i hoped it was. but will buy lotsa accessories, hope it'll look ok.
