  1. there is a sensor in every fancoil, if it reached that temperature (which you configure), it will take lesser power/energy consumption just to maintain that coolness - this is for inverter, otherwise it will go to fan mode and power up full force to reach that temperature again for non-inverter).
  2. it is not a solid door at all?! It seems like it is very solid and thick.... have to bang on the door so that the ppl inside the room can hear. You sure abt that?. aih.. disappointed.. but it looks really nice...
  3. Hi Binzz, your second row top cabinet is really nice...!. Do you have the drawings for your kitchen cabinet? Do your contractor/ID charge you more for making the first row of your top cabinet deeper than the second row?. if yes, how much did he charge you?. Thanks for your info... that beam on top in the ktichen is really a headache..take up valuable spaces
  4. Is it confirmed our contractor demolish the kerb? I also think so, but the contractor told me it's the haulage ppl, doesn't make sense to me, as haulage means only provide sand, why in the **** they wanna demolish the kerb without any charges. Well, for my reno tiling just over for the living room and bedroom, grouting lines etc has not up. should be able to see something in the next 2-3 weeks (hopefully), once my boxup study room is up and laminate flooring is done.
  5. Next week saturday or sunday I am okay too... Btw, anyone knows normally who is the one demolish the entrance kerb? is it haulage people or our contractor?.
  6. Okay.. here u go...taken by my hb.. Kerb 01 Kerb 02 Gate
  7. I read from some other thread you can try to nego/request from OIC - Officer in charge, and some help to extend, but some does not.
  8. that is a nice tile!! haha.. instead of looking at your kerb, the first glance saw your nice tile.. Btw, the foyer tile, is it matt/glossy finish? yeap, the kerb is not noticeable, I think not that high, around 1 tile's height as you said. Hm... pretty nice. will ask my ID to do that too. The iron gate should never get trimmed.. it's so nice, better keep intact Thanks Binzz...!
  9. I have seen some, which does not have their gate cut, and have asked my ID to make sure he doesn't cut my gate too. You may want to check others as well or other unit. You can simply visit some of other units and see it from outside, take picture of it and show it to your ID. For my case, the kerb start from outer of the wooden door till outer of the iron gate. (I notice wooden door is lower than iron gate). Will upload pictures once I am free tonite.
  10. Yeap,.. Vacis.. You can do so by stretching your not so important expenses at a later stage, say furniture, accessories for the house which do not need any help from contractor to do, etc. You can try to get balance/fund transfer between UOB (2% up front nominal fee with 0% installment for 6 months) and DBS (2.5% up front nominal fee with 0% installment for 6 months and 4% for the same T&C for 12 months). I think 2% and 2.5% is considered quite okay, and you can try to pay within either 6mth or 12mth. Well, for this you need to pay minimum monthly payment though, and if you think you can do so at stipulated period, otherwise it will fallback to the prevailing interest rate (credit card 24% p.a, or 17-18% for cashplus/the like). UOB having the above promo now, DBS till last month end (which I think can be extended).
  11. Guess I need to move mine as well from blogspot to here by this weekend.... More crowded here, and simply can jump from renotalk thread to t-blog, and simply post...
  12. Binzz... thanks!! thanks for the info.. Any pics to show us on the entrance kerb?. Really wish to do the kerb but quite scared of the dangerous posed to the elderly..
  13. thanks xlan for thorough info,....we thinking it's easier to sweep the floor out of the house from foyer without the kerb too, and safer for elderly as well... that's what our concern on tripping too. btw, what are the FS issues har?. not quite knowledgable at that area.. thank you.. thank you..
  14. Hi All, Can I check with your if your did a kerb at the main entrance? (a kerb between the wood door and the iron gate). I am not sure if the kerb is necessary or not.. or it will help to block the water (with additional plastic/arcylic board installation) if HDB spray and clean the common area with water. Anyone has overcome that design headache?.

  16. Just had aircon man to come in for site view and had his advise. After all his advise..we were like in the mix of laugh and cry... (laugh because we think we can enjoy the coolness of the place when the weather is hot, but cry due to the ugliness of the trunking...) Well, we have 5 aircon living, study room + 3bedroom, and the trunking from each of this room was like... It really will turn your house and design very ugly. The most trunking will somehow appear in my MBR,... trunking for all the previous 4 aircon will meet at MBR, and need to split those 4 aircon pipe into two trunking, which will flow up and bottom really not sure how trunking are done for some of your, 5-room flat owner. Headache.. headache....
  17. thanks jasch for the kitchen drawing!. Well, it's good to have reference. Btw, hv you finalized on the position of the pull out drawer?. My ID didn't design any pull out drawer for me!!. Dunno what kind of position is good for both pull out drawer and cutlery drawer, let me know if you do have some reference from other reno t-blog user as well ! Thanks... thanks...
  18. xlan, may I know when is paint job started?. From what I know it is after tiling, cement base/sink support for kitchen and after aircon trunking right?. or after aircon is installed?. is your kitchen cabinet up yet?. what about lighting?. Sorry for asking so much question was thinking to plan and know more in case I left out anything. thanks!! So far, I think your reno has been progressing very well and very smooth... congrats!!.
  19. Well the kitchen looks like what I am going to do... though the colour may be much lighter (the same for the flooring). Any idea why you don't like the design/color?. I think I should be moving my blog to reno t-blog already.... lots of nice pics and comments sharing here.
  20. I would say.. that is very very lovely... He can definitely feel warm in his heart... for this special 3-in-1 presents! I was actually thinking the same exact thing for my box up suggested study room!!. Gosh... Seems like we have same taste... Binzz!!. We are same, me and HB also looking for cheaper round table marble for dining (prefer white one) and have lazy suzie in the middle (the round thing which can be turn in the center) We found two in IMM (Red Xpple and the shop beside Red Apple), due to bad comments on Red Xpple we drop them), however we found one in Boonlay Shopping Complex (cost around 1100 to 1300/1.4k), with 6 chairs (there is a square marble in the middle of the chair). Prefer to have that square marble in the middle of the chair.. can cool off my Butx Not sure if that kinda price is reasonable. Looks nice, but the color of the marble seems not so nice (not totally white - with some patterns of course) and not having enough cool effect. Let me know once you spotted some for that kind, okie? Was hoping the cost around 800 (if not lesser )
  21. Wow.. the glass still looks very nice, even though the metal has rusted, can't see any scratch on your glass at all. Btw, why have to leave that intact?.is it because it has been permanently fixed?.and also the metal can't be totally changed ar?. Quite scared, if my glass hob broken, dunno can find any replacement or not, since the size of the hob varies between brands, even varies between models of the same brand!
  22. Congrats OnePost!!. You must be very happy,.. and can't wait to molest all those shiny metal .
  23. Hi Nic, why don't you post up pictures of your newly renovated house. I am kinda confused about what you mentioned,.. btw, what is LR? and why do you need 4 inches long to hold up the blind railing. *got it - LR for Living Room. Aih... whole day hectic work, make my mind a bit dull. Aih.. I think I will have to invite curtain man to check first before my window grilles installation is up. Luckily you mentioned, otherwise may have forgotten...and I will live in a unit similar to aquarium.. open for all to see... kakaka..
  24. Hi Sam, If you hv already subsribed to PUB, I think you can simply call citygas up to subscribe (if not mistaken, that's what they told me. For me I personally go down, cause I dunno at first). You can try to call up and see, cause they said the account is the same with PUB electricity/water. They will do 2 visit (First visit, lay pipe and install water heater), second visit they will connect your cooker with the pipe and do testing with their gadgets for any leakage, install meter and activation. ps: you can't install water heater on 2nd visit, cause the guy doing 2nd visit is from another party and they won't bring along the water heater. Hope I am not chiong hei... For me I guess I will cover the gas heater up, so that it won't get dusty..until 2nd visit/activation.
