  1. heard its not necessary for IDs to be registered. HDB license concerns are on contractors who are not registered and trained thus destroy the building structure such as beams. so more importantly is for an ID who engage contractors who are registered, and for those who have no license. they cant apply permit to hack. only those who are registered has an account to log in and apply permit. guess it all goes down to reputation of the company. among all the 5 IDs, i only heard of urban habitat.
  2. looks reasonable. think it depends. but if you are on tight budget and wanna go with basic items, then this cost should be ok. only afraid if wanna beautify then need add this n that on top of that amt.
  3. would use glass shower screen & must be tempered. saw the news today some one passed on when he knocked into the glass panel , it broke and he was bleeding profusely. some toilets rather small, even to fit in an L shape sliding shower screen also like no space. but aethestically much nicer.
  4. Hi Faith, am also looking for an ID. My friend did referred to me and i have a few others too. Kindly pm me if you did like their contacts. would love to share my experience as im a new comer too
  5. Maybe we can compare quotes we received. Is yours a resale? am actually comparing individual categories now. but there's one whose pricing are reasonable & i feel comfortable with. will PM you
  6. you're hacking whole house floor tiles? i can recommend you one that's intro-ed by my friend. pm me so i can get them to quote you your requirements.
  7. i guess you are also getting your keys at the end of the year. so 3D innovation is the only you've picked out so far? understand that end year is peak period and its best to engage one fast to book the contractors .. im still in the midst of comparing. will prolly finalize in oct
  8. bcos a reno loan interests is lower than personal loans etc, the bank will first screen the applicant and the contractor co itself to make sure they have no law suits and what not... the bank will then issue a few cheques progressively to the contractor company. it'll depend on your salary x 6. max is 30k loan for a couple.
  9. from what i heard from friends and my point of view... it's good to plan in advance. if resale, better to go down to site to take a look and get a more detailed quotation. as for workmanship, the carpenter still need to head down to your site to take measurements before fabricating the carpentry works. so it doesnt make a difference
  10. depends if your objective is price vs convenience vs amt to spend on reno? i may spend more on reno and go with option 1 since convenience is my choice... if you are driving, option 2 may be better
  11. hello all, i'm new to this as introduced by my friend to this forum. as i will be shifting into a resale towards the end of the year or in jan 2016 would like to know if there's anyway i can get a floor plan? the owner who passed me their original is decades old already. also, would be glad for a head start on what i can look out for and how long should i plan in advance to look for my contractor or ID... my concern is hidden costs if i were to sign an ID before getting my keys as to a few horror stories i've heard from friends.. or should i wait till i get my keys? to get a accurate quotation... heard a lot of extra costs esp for resale. kindly advise... thanks
