there's something definitely going on. I mean why the owner is avoiding the agents just to sign the indemnity form? You might want to hold off the reno first until you get the keys. 2nd inspection is a requirement ah? If so, then why not catch the owner and his wife at an unexpected time when they're at home? Just dun inform them that you guys going there. Chances is they will be home and can't say anything about it.

Nice nice 3D pics. Im drooling over your big WIW.
-
I was thinking of doing the same for one of my walls if possible. Dunno how hard is it to plaster it up? Just curious, if we buy just the material, would it be cheaper to pay someone to do the plastering besides doing it ourselves?
-
Hmm maybe it's the bulb thing? See if you can find a brighter bulb with higher watt? Or alternatively you can sell the light you have and buy a new one? It should be okay for your WIW but depends on whether you want a bright WIW or a dim WIW? Your PUB charges is quite ok I guess. Mine was $15 plus including the $100 deposit. Guess didn't use much electricity that time.

Yes you can reapply for the HLE again. My HLE expired the first time, I had to reapply on the date of expiry to continue the validity of the HLE which my hubby and I were entitled to for another 3 months. You need to have the expired HLE letter, your payslips, CPF contribution list & a latest letter from your company to verify your current employment with your company & the salary you're paid should the HDB officer ask for it. Just make sure you have relevant documents with you since the officer attending to you might not be the same officer attending to you previously. For me, I had to have copies of whatever's relevant so that my hubby & I qualify for the same loan stated in the previous HLE. HDB will not reapply the HLE for you even if its a few days close to expiry date, it only can be reapplied on the date of expiry of the first HLE letter itself. So take note of that.

First, this link is for t-blogs, your query should be in either renovation works or renovation ideas & design themes thread Second, you can buy the floorplan of your unit from HDB for a small fee. Third , try floorplanner or else you can try google sketchup but those 2 are time consuming ie; floorplanner takes some time to load saved changes at times while google sketchup, you got to draw from boxes to building the actual thing just like Legos. Or else you can sketch out the layout on paper based on your floorplan. keke

Um, I got bored at home. I can totally understand why being a hsewife or stay home wife is very boring than working elsewhere. I mean, at least get paid a salary to spend for yourself, for your family or share financial commitment even though it can get monotonous at work sometimes. But staying home facing 4 walls daily with no kids other than a dog at home sure is even worse. So I just got out of home for some walking around on mon.

Hmm I would go for the 3rd mosaic partly due to the fact that the first mosaic is black in colour with a little sparkle but not enough to be outstanding in the overall design. 'Cos one side of the MBR toilet is already black and the other side is beige, its like balancing yin and yang since the beige looks a bit grey somehow. For a better visualisation, you can put the samples of 1st & 3rd mosaic in the area meant for the mosaic in the MBR toilet to see if matching with the tiles overall. =) Just go with what you and your hubby will feel most comfortable looking at everyday.

Ya can move in already just like we did when it was more or less settled with my flooring, lighting & electricity + water up excluding the furnitures. Somemore one of your rooms can be used to lock away your things for the time being also. The WIW looks good already & it might look a bit more complete with a standing mirror or a stand up dresser? Got any nice light in the WIW or not?

How does your baobei disturb your mum?
-
Hmm sorry if i join in. It is indeed strange since the couple & seller's agt are colleagues and so they could discuss further on this without any problems since their relationship is on good terms to the point that they want to top up the balance themselves. It smacks of "fishness" in a sense, not to mention the way they are doing, like the timing and so on. Sometimes it is better to be careful or else you might run into more problems with the place after the 2nd appt is completed even though you guys plan to tear down everything.

The MBR ceiling looks very nice with the lightings now. The bedroom entrance light in pink colour is from Ikea?
-
Waa, you DIY this ah? How you DIY this kinda feature wall for your MBR? How much you pay for the relevant materials? Can share?
-
Hallo fellow JW resident. If you're going to paint the ceiling, its better you paint the ceiling first before they put up the lights. Otherwise it will be tiring touching up around the lights.

When my dog is a puppy, I always fed it with dried food & sometimes mix it with puppy formulated milk. Up to now, still feed my dog dried food. For my hubby's doggie, he's being fed canned dog food(Beef) in the mornings and later afternoon-evening, its dried food. wow, nice nice! Looks very cosy and layout looks well planned in that aspect for a 3 room. I like your shoe cabinet too le.

The Groovys' New Home: An Adventure In Reno
BunBun replied to groovygenie's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Hello Amanda. Seems your ID is one "sweet talker" In fact, if you've sign a contractual agreement for the works to be done in B/W & the boss of the firm cannot do anything about it when he can actually do something. Like getting another ID in his firm to take over or at least get your ID back on the job. Is the ID firm RADAC accredited? If so, you can make a complaint with RADAC or CASE if not RADAC accredited. As long as there is no work done and you have the agreement, you have a case. You can also check if the company is on the bad list listed by forumers here so you have some idea of your ID firm's reliability. Btw, how come you put 55% downpayment, its already good as being chopped halfway. I thought it is at most 10-20% downpayment first and the rest in stages? -
Ah okay, waiting to see your completed reno pics. Skywolf, yours too. kekeke

I see! You and Skywolf have same floor layout right? Hmm your layout all squarish. Skywolf, Can go for modular sofa or not? or curvy like sofa as in divein's blog. I think its modular type too.

Cement Base For Kitchen Cabinets - Necessary?
BunBun replied to soojin's topic in Kitchen & Bathroom
Wood legs with wood skirting are called plinths, Ikea's also have stainless steel legs I think. Like starscream mentioned, the base is there so that the kitchen cabinet is sort of "suspended" and pouring the water onto the floor to wash the flooring, will ensure that the water will not splash too much onto the cabinet since laminate covering does warp & wood will rot if come into contact with water frequently. If not, you just need to take proper care for the kitchen cabinet by wiping away any moisture or water on it. -
My sunday was fine, just that I came down with a mild flu thanks to my sinus problem. :bang wall: How about yours?

Wall Murals
BunBun replied to gohwhalex's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
I saw that article before! Hmm there are a few ways to do it. 1. Just find a picture of what you have in mind, print it out on paper and make it into a stencil which you can paint on your walls. 2. Alternatively customise your wall design into wall decals which you can stick on your walls with less trouble but cost wise, it depends on how big your design is for the wall. I believe Chen Hanwei's design was a combination of decals + painting on the wall. -
Hmm are you going to remove the balcony doors? Just thought it would look nice with glass doors or folding doors since the beam cannot be hacked. It can still be part of the living room as in lay same floor tiles from living to balcony area

Em I pm you better.

Paiseh Paiseh, I must have been looking at too many blogs. Baguana's home left me and my hubby with a good impression as one of the nice homes that I mistake Baguna's place to have those hooks. I remember one of the forumers got hooks similar to the one at Ikea & put it in 2 rows. (6 hooks total) jut for hanging clothes/accessories on the wall . Its not the 'S' type, its those circular hook with a flat surface. Will post the pic for you to see once I've found it

It does seem your bedhead is a bit high since platform has a certain level per HDB requirement not to mention with a mattress piled on top of the platform? But looks very spacious your place now.
