CPE, no le. I have laminated flooring for the whole of my place except the wet areas that why I know. I can't answer that question cos, it depends on which brand you got and the starting cost psf for the laminate & your bedroom floor size also.
-
For laminate flooring, I can answer that. It depends on which brand of laminate flooring, the grade you're getting. For eg, AC3 is the cheaper grade while AC4 & 5 are slightly more ex as it is meant for high traffic volume if you want to have laminate for the whole house except wet areas. Also, what is the starting price psf for the laminate brand & grade you are getting as the price will vary with different brands. After that, you got to factor in your total floor area just for the laminate flooring x the cost psf. Also have to include in the GST too. Hope this helps.

Keke oreo is growing up to be a adult already le. Oreo may be small in size but he will still become an adult soon + dogs grow ALOT faster than babies technically.

Hello! JWer here reporting in. Same area as DoubleJ but area's 126 sqm. It was a long wait to get a flat esp in balloting exercises so looked at possible alternatives in JW based on cost, availability options. That how, I came to be in JW.

Pinkpetter, just dun let IDs or contractors goad you into doing something else extra. You do not need extra as long as you know what you and your family require best. Most importantly is, get a breakdown of the items listed so you'd roughly know how much psf for tiles for example unless you get the tiles direct from the tile shop.

mmycheng, your budget should be okay though. You have to be prepared to do alot of comparisons to get a very good deal for the materials you want. For me, I spent around 1k+ SGD (RM 2.4K) just for the following things from a curtain maker in JB:- Living room - Double tracks, 1 set of curtains & 1 lace curtain 1 set of String Curtains for living & dining area Roller bind w/o blackout for study room Rollerbind w total blackout for 3 bedrooms & 1 side curtain for the window ledge in the MBR. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...12538&st=80 Also you have to consider the following things for your budget like :- 1. Are you having double tracks or single track for living room? Double tracks usually with lace curtains & main curtain set. 3. Roller binds, are you having blackout material? To judge the workmanship of the curtains, have to see if the curtain extends fully to the desired width of the tracks when drawn, the sewing workmanship cannot be sloppy to the point that can see edges sticking out where it should not be seen. Full length curtains does not have to be necessary touching the floor totally. It can be slightly above the floor surface.

Ya kitchen is very very expensive! That why I never do top cabinets in the end. Oh yes I forgot to mention one more thing that just came to my mind... Pinkitsch, did you do any concrete support for the sink area or not? Because this will add more cost to the kitchen quote actually but it is well worth it to have concrete support than have none? Im wondering why you are not sure why it is 25k alone for just the kitchen carpentry if you got the quote from Ho Bee. Because Ho Bee will give a breakdown in their quotes. Can you put your quotation here so that we can give suggestion? CPE sorry to hijack your thread. =x

Ranval: WAH, your oreo sure knows how to make havoc at home on his own one. But the way you describe your oreo troubles is really funny that I dunno whether to laugh or not? Never try medicated oil as a last resort? You should try those medicated oil, the chinese type used for rubbing aches away & put a little at oreo's most known pee spots. Summer himself is allergic to it, he hates it most so he never do anything at his pee spots with medicated oil still lingering away. Im not sure if oreo is also allergic to it or not. Greycat: why never jio me go your place see ninja hur? So cute your ninja. Btw, your ninja is the medium or small breed types?
-
why don't you do a comparison between the curtain quotes for the same type of material? This way you can find out whether it is consistent in the pricing or whether you're being a carrot head kena chop. This is easier to find out how much difference & also better this way to do research on the types of material you want. For eg; the disadvantages vs the advantages for the type of curtains you want? I have roller binds installed in the bedrooms & study room. Only the study room is without blackout material. It is much more easier & simpler to have roller binds since I do not have to wash them like normal curtains. Just clean or vacuum the dust off. Btw, your yellow kitchen is so sunny looking, I like! $550 for the glass partition alone only? Does it include the cost of hacking part of the wall for it?

Actually, if doing top & bottom cabinets, it will be an estimated 4-5k++ depending on how you want your kitchen done? Straight line, U-shape, L-Shaped and etc..? Also, if you doing alot of drawers than doors for the cabinets, it will be slightly more ex since it is more time consuming to pre-fabricate the no of drawers required. My kitchen contractor mentioned this to me and my hubby when we were discussing our kitchen layout. In addition if you box up the pipes, there will be extra cost. So after that add in the solid surface top cost as it depends on the brand itself so pricing will vary. However, the most costly is country style kitchen theme since it requires wood so if your kitchen is country style, that would explain why it would be ex. Maybe you should ask your contractor for a breakdown. Other than the flooring costs, the toilets cost could be another factor if you did the toilets that is. (6k+ for 2 toilets)

I see. I think your firm might be busy with other projects that might be the reason though. Its rare to have both sets of parents living under one roof somemore. The housing rebate is a plus point since less financial worries on house payments.
-
I think your ID means, they need to fabricate the carpentry in advance first before completing the full works? Solid surface top, my kitchen contractor installed it on the same day as my kitchen carpentry which took only a week to fabricate first before the final completion since i didn't do top cabinets I guess? Maybe you can ask if the solid surface top can be done on the same day as your kitchen carpentry?

Sorry for late reply hehe, just saw your posting, sky. I've adjusted to work more or less since its not anything tough. Greycat : You got another doggie? Aiyo so cute, i want to take it out for a walk now.

Looks like a good job done. Just how much more left to go?
-
You guys got to be more firm with your ID one le. Now the pressing thing other than your handover date, is your furniture. Where would you put them anyway?
-
How much did you pay for the glass partition of that size?
-
Nice sofa colour. Looks very cheerful.

Had done a number of cross-stitch projects already. Did cushion cover design for my hubby & mum. Ya it is quite time consuming but the fact that doing it with feelings makes up for it in many ways. Heh I can't wait to see all your finished projects though/
-
ya cross stitching requires different colours but its really simple making cross stitch pattern. Knitting, I've not tried before so I can't really say which is the easiest. Speaking of coach, anyone knows how to do those perfectly done scarves on the coach bags? I'm trying to do that style
-
Ah no wonder. But honestly, i've never joined a spree cos nothing much for me to buy unless really interest me to buy. that dispenser looks useful and cute.
-
Knit and purl? Sounds complicated than cross stitching. Kekeke but if you're going to teach, can organise a small class. Btw how long does it take to do a rug or blanket?
-
Paiseh for late reply, been busy prep for my AD. Finally its over! Ah how you know about the BP part? Anyone want to place order for dispenser? I want to buy leh! Quick, someone organise a spree!

Yo, been a while since my last post, wow that's a blanket? looks like those soft rug seriously. can teach me to do that?
