  1. I think it was quite a while ago that i bought them... I could not find the link in taobao anymore.. Sorry
  2. It's been a while since I blogged. I have drop a message for all those who has requested for the contact. Do drop me a message, as I am not checking into the blog as often as before ^^ I have been staying in my new house for a month now. There are some additions like pictures etc from taobao that I bought and I love them.. I found the My wife's name for one of the pic... but its in gold, Hence i requested seller to make a black one... Im glad my unit is quite bright in the day as seen below (can ignore the warm light at the high table). Small little stool for wearing shoes and my best helper, robot cleaner that comes with mop function... at least my whole house feels clean till I do a through cleaning in the weekend.. Edmund asked whether I am going to have a robot, and he suggested to have a socket under... Good advice that I dint think of. After staying for a month, my "lun zhun" (clumsy) wife injured our cupboard. Just casually checked with J&E, and they came down to fix the laminate with no charges. Also help me drill a hole to hang my wedding photo... Really helpful people... and reliable.... and hence...... Contractor James is now a registered contractor for renovation in HDB and his company is Chun Xiang Renovation. They mentioned everyone calls them J&E which they finds it funny... but ya, they are CX Reno.... Edmund is the project Manager, James is the boss, and they have their own carpentry.. Hence the quality and price (Singapore everything more expensive compare to our neighbour). Anything wrong with carpentry, they can easily fabricate, dun need request and send again from another place.
  3. HS Lim. My reno is below 40k. I think the workmanship is good as compared to some that I've seen.
  4. Its Vento Fino 2. I got from Tampoi in Malaysia during hari raya... offer 1001 Ringgit. The wind is actually very strong, i on low enough alr.
  5. Bedroom 3 carpentry Bedroom 2 (my sleeping room) Remember the pelmet issue? the pelmet was removed on monday on the day I moved in. Then the guys doing the wooden blinds came yesterday to fix up the blinds. 1 thing that I like about J&E is, after this whole saga, they voluntarily offered to fix back a pelmet for Bedroom 3 and 2. For MBR, as there are cupboards, so its not possible to put another pelmet. The good thing for this is next time if we change to curtain, still got pelmet can cover the tracks (like my living room), The down side will be is will make pop out even more. As of now, I find the blind looks okay without the pelmet so I told J&E is okay not to have the pelmet. What I like of them is they dint push the blame and proactively offer things even after handover.
  6. Yes. My wife wanted a scandi feel.. while I wanted a minimalist feel. Hopefully able to maintain the looks
  7. And so I moved in yesterday. It was a hectic day, moving in many stuffs, fixing the pelmet (J&E sub con are quite fast and efficient i must say), moving the bed from my parents place to my place. It was tiring, but nevertheless fulfilling journey. Still awaiting my 2nd batch of Taobao shipment. In the mean time, enjoy the pics. First meal.
  8. After a long while, after the 7th month, I will be moving into my new house on Monday. As I thought the reno is done, I just have to get the rest of the stuffs up by today, everything is good to go, whatever thats planned became unplanned for. This would be a ranting post... Sat: 1) Singtel 2) Castlery delivering my final items, the dining set 3) Installation of wooden blinds 4) Fix a clicking sound for my living room fan (4th time Elmark came down) Singtel came and install well.... and 1 problem arise after another... My block both lifts down (this is the N times my block lift spoil), Castlery could not bring up the dining set.. not my fault, but if re schedule, who pay for the cost? And moving in on Monday without dining set? hmmmm Bigger problem... After the blind installer fixed my living room Blinds (got a bit hiccup too as they say there is no wood inside the pelmets), they went into my rooms and say, the curtain pelmets allowance is too small for them to install... So I contract Edmund again for help... The earliest they could remove the cover piece for the pelmet is Monday, the day Im moving in, with all the prayings etc. The earliest the blind installer could fix the blinds, will be Tuesday. So I am going to sleep in the living room or, use some cloth to cover my bedroom. The clearance in my rooms are too small... I am not sure the information that was given to different parties.. Maybe I said curtains in room, maybe I did mentioned blinds. maybe the measurement was wrong, or the window grilles are too thick. Too many factors that create this problems. The only solution is to cut the part in red. But then, will it be straight and nice?? need to repaint also I guess. My bed is coming on Monday, will it be in time for all the fixes? Also maybe should have just went ahead with the installation in 7th month, at least problem could have been seen beforehand and not just before moving in. My advice to future fellow renotalkers, please ensure the clearance for curtain pelmet and install ur blinds etc earlier. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Its painful, till I think if I had paid a higher price and get the grilles and blind from the contractor, would it have been better? But then again, all are hindsight ideas which serve no benefits. Murphy hits me real hard at the worst time, just before I move in with lots of excitement.
  9. Yes, you can definitely trust the workmanship of the carpentry for J&E. They do provide 3D pictures, but they actually charged me for them as they outsource the 3D. I believe it depends whether you are able to negotiate with them as I heard they provide free for some clients. Will PM you the contact and price.
  10. I dint do any false ceiling. The electrician added 1 additional point and shifted the rest of the existing points. will Pm you the contact. PM you
  11. PM sent Thank you very much for your compliment. I used WY5214D for my walk in wardrobe,WY5213D for my living room... The paint colour is Ash Grey from Nippon...
  12. Was really really busy after the handover with cleaning and adding items into my house... there was a few hiccups here and there... esp my partition wall to hang my TV... During the handover, out of goodwill, my contractor is very nice to hang up stuff from ikea like bars etc and touch up... so I asked them to hang my TVs... To hang tv on the partition wall, there must be wood behind... Edmund did instruct them to add wood... and here comes the problem and lesson learnt for J&E... add wood in the middle... Hiccup 1: They added wood at 2 sides thinking my TV bracket is those normal kind... who knows, my free TV bracket mounting is in the middle... and is very very slim... To solve this, they cut the wall and added wood in the middle, fix back the wall, plaster and painted the wall... before putting up the Bracket Hiccup 2: As they were rushing off to do another Handover (I dun blame them, cos my handover overshot by a lot of time), they leave the hanging of TV to me... and becos I gotten LG OLED, the screws holding the TV to the bracket is at the bottom... after hanging the TV near evening time, found out that the hole can be seen... and the TV is too high (becos the screws are at the bottom of the TV...) Gotten LG to come shift it down for free since I haven get them to fix my TV.... and here comes hiccup 3 (I could live with it but J&E say they can solve).. Hiccup 3: Hole covered by the bracket... cannot put in the Gromemt... LG installer also abit suka suka anyhow install... Hiccup 4: James came this sat (1 week after handover) and suggested to shift the tv bracket higher just above... so we replastered the wall, paint again, wait for it dry... then he install the bracket... sway sway, one of the screws for the bracket hit the screw that fix the wood to the partition wall... and they try to drill so hard that the wall at the side sinked in.. nearly thought need to redo the whole wall... Till James saves the day... From this hiccup, I can truly understand why James is the man, the boss... he knows how to solve things in this sort of situation... he inserted more wood...fix back the part that sinked in.. and plaster, paint, wait for it dry again... took around 2 hrs... fix up the bracket, hang the tv... thought is the end of the story?? NO!!!! The bracket is like playing games with our mind... This is the bracket... The red part screws to the wall the bracket, should be just above the hole... James aligned the blue part just above the hole... No one notices, till we hang up the tv and saw the the hole again.... we discuss for 10 mins as to why suddenly can see the hole though we shift like a bit only... finally notice the red part... haix.. so redo the process of take out, plaster, paint, wait for it dry... den finally the TV is fixed.... this tv fixing from around 12pm till 4pm... Really appreciate James for his patience and time...
  13. The Lampshade is from Ikea though lol... It is a little light to be honest.. hence if wind is big, the pendant light will sway... The barstool is really nice and sturdy... PM Sent

  15. Have been really busy clearing the house, bringing items into the house before the 7th month.. These are the items I bought from my first Taobao shipment quite a while ago (some did not include in pics).. 2nd shipment of nearly 28 items are mostly accessories will be placed soon .. Overall the experience was quite enriching, and easy... I use Oops.sg as I think its quite easy to use and they dun have storage fees I think... Surprisingly, the items quality and price are really really very good... Some of the goods being released from their boxes... Not my first choice of Clock... but my wife prefer this... Onion Light.. 19. Yea... I went to nick for quote... wife no feel with him so cant choose him.. All I could say is, don't get offended by his attitude or what... If he thinks it does not work, he must have his reasons so ask him explain... and its good that he is straightforward... Saw the final product of Neelie house, its really quite nice..
