Went up to my place on Saturday and took some pictures of the progress of the reno. The flooring for the living room is finally done. Can't really tell from this photo as there were cardboards covering the floor. That's how my tiles looked upclose.. A nice shade of brown. I am not doing any skirting.. Preferred it to look simple. MaCe had also mentioned that without skirting, the crawling pests will have nowhere to hide.. Flooring for the MBR bathroom. Flooring for the common toilet also done.. My kitchen. The flooring is done. The cabinet bases are up too. The left side of the kitchen. The base is for full height cabinets. For storage as well as to box up the pipings. That's how my kitchen tiles looked upclose. My foyer area is under going the tiling process. That's my foyer tiles upclose. Black tiles with prints.. The ugly cornices are finally gone!! They are also starting on my aircon piping liao.. Not much updates except for the flooring. I am awaiting patiently for my carpentry and my false ceiling to be up..

Yup.. they are located near the main door.. Quite a weird location. Imagine coming out of your bathroom naked or with a piece of towel around you, then you got to walk all the way to the living room and into the WIW to get changed.. WIW are mostly connected to bathrooms or near the bathrooms..

When you says that the engine is better for vios, are you referring to the performance or maintenance part? I had friends driving Vios and Fits, but it seems that Fits' engines require less maintenance.. But the FC is definitely better than vios.. Good value for $$.

In this case, your bomb shelter must be big enuff for all the shelving and drawers etc.. But I thought bomb shelter is about the size of a storeroom only?

The increasing cabfares is really abit too much for frequent consumers.. I had friends who take cabs everywhere they go whenever their bfs or hbs are not fetching them. At the rate that the cabfares are rising, it's better to own a car. If you are really looking for a car just for transport purposes, there are many choices out there. Maybe can consider a lancer or vios or fit.. FC is quite reasonable and their prices are being justified.. Cars are more affordable now with the decreasing COE.. But of course, got to factor in the rising prices of fuel.. Not to mention the endless ERPs..

But you will notice that most of these kind of ppl are single.. If they are attached and have commitments, don't think they will be like that also.. Like us lar, want to spoil ourselves with luxury things, but cannot mah.. We got the flat, spouse to support and maintain.. Hard also lar.. For changing cars, confirm will lose $$ no matter what you change to lar.. It's juz a matter of how much nia.. But again, who will drive their cars for the whole of 10 years? Similarly, seldom got ppl hold on to a handphone for years one.. As technology improves, you will be attracted to 'upgrade'.. But of course, one got to be sensible and upgrade within own means..

It's not surprising that some guys will 'throw' $$ at girls just to get their attention. Previously, he bought the old Fairlady. That one super rare in Singapore liao.. At that point of time, all of his friends knew he confirm cannot afford it in the long run.. Petrol, maintenance, road tax and insurance.. End up, he sold the car after the 1st year. Not to mention that he need to go all the way to JB to pump petrol to save $$.. He even told me that all this sacrifices are worth it coz his car attracted loads of attention on the road. I once sat in his car, stationary at a traffic light near Cine Leisure. Guess what? A bunch of guys asked him what car is that and they gave him thumbs up. He turned to me saying : "See? This is the kind of attnetion I want."

I don't have much choice.. My boy and I went to several furniture shops selling sofas.. But nothing can beat the one that we wanted at Red Apple.. But we just shrugged it off lar.. Demand for more discount lor. Now, just hope that everything will be delivered on time with no hiccups..

Yup.. I like Guess and Esprit watches.. Affordable and got many different designs and types to choose from.. Actually, I also like Nautica watches. But the prices slightly higher than Guess.. But really very chio.. Rich man spend on many women nothing to say.. But I do have friends who don't know their limits and spend on many women and ended up eating maggi mee for meals..

Wah lao.. Makes me envy Mrs Phantom.. I only got 1 watch nia.. Everyday wear the same one.. The last time I got a new piece of clothes, should be 4 months ago.. Consider an achievement for a girl liao!! Most girls I know buy at least 1 piece of clothing eveyr month. I used to love to spend on shopping.. Now, I just wanna spend on my flat.. Like you had said, there are people who will like to spend on women. But it will only be nice if they are spending on their 1 & ONLY woman..

Ya lor.. Abit scary leh.. Any brand also can.. But like that ar, Air's hubby will be easier to get her gifts.. Nit like you, Mr Phantom, you need to get the LV or Tiffany's catalog for your Mrs when you are getting her a gift.. My case different from you.. I used to spend alot on shopping too. In fact, at least 60% on my pay on shopping. But after knowing my boy, I realized he is much a bigger spender than me. I see liao, like super scary, then I hold to my cash more liao.. End up, he will try to get me to buy things I had set my eyes on.. But now that our house is on the way, we cannot afford to shop for clothes or shoes, can only shop for the house!! !!

Some small hiccups last night. Nothing to do with the workers. It's my own toopid mistake. I am supposed to get rainshower for my common bathroom too. But got it wrong and bought a 707 instant heater instead. Blur me.. Called up the shop to check whether we can changed the already paid and collected instant heater to a set of rainshower instead. Lucky the sales person is cool about it and right after dinner, we rushed down to change before the shop closes at 8.30pm. Topped up another 350+ for a rainshower set and another tap for our MBR. Another pek chek thing. The lightings shop was supposed to arrange for delivery yesterday for 5 items. In the end, we only received 4 items. The worst thing is, they did not bother to inform us when they fail to deliver 1 of the item. After changing the bathroom accessories, we rushed down to Balestier to 'confront' them about the missing item. They gave such a toopid excuse saying that, the delivery man forgot about it and left it in his delivery truck. So irresponsible.. They should at least notify us in the 1st place mah.. Not only say they just realized the miss-out AFTER we approached them. They promised the delivery today. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Very stressed up. Ordered a sofa and dining table from Red Apple from IMM. Delivery was supposed to be in Jan 08. Called them up but their store claimed that my invoice number is invalid and asked me to check with the sales!!!!!! Had read up previously in another thread of how problematic their logistics can be. Now, I really got a taste of it liao. If nothing works out right, my boy and I will be making a trip down to IMM this weekend. Talking about all the negative happenings really dampen my mood. Arghh.. I also went to view my flat last night at 9plus.. Very late le, so no photos now. Will be making another trip down tomorrow for some photo-taking. At least, I know the flooring is done liao. It feels more like a home already.

I still have clothes hanging in my wardrobe with their price tags on. Clothes still never mind leh.. Bigger items like watches or bags then chum ar.. Waste so much $$ on them. Hee. Nope.. My ex-company which is your current one, I wore jeans EVERYDAY. I am not sure of your department on that level, but my that level, almost everyone wear jeans.. I will look totally out of place if I wear like a typical OL. It's good to be able to wear jeans on Fridays.. I wish I can wear shorts on Friday instead!!

Wahahaaa!!!! I can't help but really LOL in my office while I read your reply. It reminded me of how I behaved in my ex-company. They allowed us to wear pants but must be the full length long pants.. When it rains, I hate to wear long pants. I will try to sneak around in my sa su gu pants (3/4 pants). After sneaking around for a few months, my HR got used to it and I wear them almost everyday liao!!
