ohh.. thanks! btw is there any difference between with country the kitchen sink is made? eg china, canada blah blah..? cos i see made in China de like cheaper leh? if no diff buy made in china safe money haha... Also is there anything i need to look out for when buying stainless steel racks etc? cos i tot all kinds of stainless steel toilet accessories after many years also will tarnish (green mold) de izit true?

May i ask where can find cheap or reasonable price kitchen sink & tap + toilet sink, mixer and accessories?

me also stuck with the reno cant proceed at all, till hdb retify everything ... at first i tot it was nice to put the sink under the window there then the stove directly opposite the sink cos i din know about the fire will clash with water thing then my mother told me cannot put like tht!! so i told id about it so now he got big headache cos i ask him to shift the sink meaning to say the stove remains as it is then the sink will be L shape beside it which is directly facing the kitchen entrance

Oh icic~~ wow fast man ur reno. me still waiting for hdb to hand over the house. today went to see they already hacked away the old tiles so now waiting for them to retile. asked about if we can top up some money to change to homo tiles but the officer say we cant cos the contractor will think hdb pak kat with us to make them change the tiles for us, so nvm lo anyway i find i quite like my current tiles keke i veri scared my house got alot of trunking i will faint leh. so maybe must plan abit how to hide as much piping as possible hhaha

hi hi!! thanks load for the advice! hehe they give us date line said by mid jan 08 will rectify everything so we wait and see haha.... at first tot want to ask them do faster but the officer say dont rush them if not later things not done properly cos too rush.. then we say ok lo wow! ur sis house so stylo the air con pipe cant see de i also want haha~~ but u say now cannot do that. the officer say we cannot let our id do anything first till they officially hand over our house back then we can do the reno ..me at sembawang hope to see more pics from u~~ btw wendliy~~ ur floor tiles all ceramic tiles ah? i see from the pics look like homo tiles so nice hehe.. then what is the theme of ur house?

hi Wendily! when u install the air con did ur id instruct how the trunkings should run? or no matter how it is run id will have their way to hide the trunkings? cos i hvn start my reno due to the delay of the defects not rectify by hdb

Hi Wendily, just curious why u need to choose the tiles?.. i also encounter problem with my house tiles.. initially were the tiling spacing we felt quite uneven, some big and some small. then HDB officer told us that these are not defects so they cant do anything. Then after that our ID told us to find defects try to find hollow tiles etc. We found hollow tiles here and there in living rooms and a few pieces in bedrooms so we reported to hdb again. we also felt that the hdb contractor is not veri friendly and also we felt the HDB officer is sort of siding the contractor. Then the HDB contractor seems abit impatient.. he said 'if u wan we can only change the living room for u then as for ur bedrooms we will cut out only those pieces which are hollow. 'Cos this is veri costly for us to hack the whole living room including bedrooms for u'. but b4 we proceed we have to find the same manufacturing batch of ceramic tiles for u but as from what i know ceramic tiles come in different manufacturing batches'. 'the batch of tiles ur house currently have i think no more, so we will find something SIMILAR, and b4 we do the retiling u come and take a look if got slight difference i cant do anything else'. When the day of appointment which they ask us to go choose tiles, one senior officer came along then he told us they will rehack the whole house cos they really cant find our current batch of tiles. i also don know why suddenly they want to change for us btw that day the impatient hdb contractor was not here. Now our issue is they will take 1 month to redo everything but we are afraid the contractor will purposely do a bad job. then we have to take it. so just have to pray they don play play with us. Think like mace say email them let their HQ know what is happening cos u are not being unreasonable..u deserve what u paid !!

how do u gauge if the premium flat ceramic tiles given by hdb acceptable when u do the defect check? what will hdb do? cos my unit i found some hollow tiles and uneven grouts as in like some are 1 mm some are 5mm in the living room.. all 4 other rooms only hv like 1 or 2 hollow tiles.. hdb says that they will try to find "similar" colour ceramic tiles for me but they will only hack out living room , as for berooms they will only cut out those that are hollow. but i tot it is not fair to me cos u don have exact tiles and u can only find 'similar' tiles what if there is colour difference at the end result? officer only said this is all we can do we cant hack whole house for u only living room we will hack... is this what hdb usually do? or im being bullied? need lots of advice what i should do... pics will be good too to show how defects look like for tiles... thanks thanks in advance
